Fred Obachi,Titi Nagwala,Haggai Isanya and Dee(Presenter 001) your services are highly needed. We need a quality interview with people who understands who KANDA is... please!
Wow!! You know i just searched for the Legend's songs and boom i saw this broadcast.. am so happy to learn that he is still alive and even released new music.. i am so delighted coz the way i love his music is immeasurable.. we need these legends for the current generation and the future generation!! I wish we could have him in my home country, Botswana one day!! God bless him and give him more days
Yesterday I was playing roga roga for kids despite the fact they're in USA I tell them more about life back home and my mama was enjoying it on face time. ❤❤❤
Kanda Bongoma was and is still the African maestro, his songs are heaven sent and as he confirms they can just like that. I can listen to him all day long
Am very privileged to have watched kanda live while in Nairobi in early 90s and severally here in Different Europe cities. This guys music is lovely kwasa kwasa and am very happy to have almost all his music 6 hours nonstop as mp3 on my phone which I listen to every time I think of listening to his music. Long live the legend kanda Bongoman 🙏.
Kanda Bongo man is a legend. His music is loved by all generations . He did the "My Lovely Elizabeth" or "My Sweet Elizabeth" song well. The song was originally by S. E Rogie Sooliman Ernest Rogers "Rogie" (1926 - 4 July 1994), better known as S. E. Rogie, who was a highlife and palm wine musician and guitarist from Sierra Leone. Died: 4 July 1994 (aged 68); Lewisham, London, England, United Kingdom Born: 1926; Fonikoh, Pujehun District, Sierra Leone
I agree to this! The story could be different, but the melody and some words in Kanda Bongoman's song bear significant similarities with S.E. Rogie's song "My Lovely Elizabeth."
Shocked to hear Kanda claiming the composition of the song, 'My Lovely ELIZABETH'. My knowledge reminds me of early 60's of Rogers of Sierra Leone who was the composer of the original version of the song.
@danieloumawasingo9041 Kanda Bongoman as great and legend as he is should definitely acknowledge S.E. Rogie for the cover he did (My Lovely Elizabeth), which was popular too. We know the original song and who was behind it!
Kanda is a legend and he should be honoured in Kenya by being interviewed by someone who can remember back those years eg Fred obachi, titi nagwara and others,u can see he asks these journalists who was the information minister during the kibaki error and they don't know
There is an interview Catherine Kasavuli made, she said, RAPHAEL TUJU, was the one that invited her to the airport on Kanda Bongo Man’s arrival and asked her if they had met before. Not sure if Raphael Tuju was trying to clear the air, but Catherine did mention this story herself. Must have been on the Churchill Show or elsewhere..
To be fair, these two are also doing the interview well. They are equal to the task. They have not disappointed. Let us give our young presenters a chance too.
A critically letdown with today's young journalists; is that they're too lazy to do a research on a topic prior to interview, though they have everything at their fingertips, unlike yester years yonder. They think journalism is about talking endlessly, devoid of substance, new input...they invariably fail to contextualise. (can't contextualise without a research). How come these two had failed to google 'Bela Bela band' the most widely popular and extremely innovative Zairois band of the 70s; inasmuch as when Kanda mentioned it it was like a bolt from the thunder for them! People all Africa over danced to 'BELA BELA' beats in mid 70s and early 80s and Kanda was in the thick of it as a singer ---they had no clue! Or, the song 'Sweet Elizabeth' which was not originally Kanda's but by a Sierra Leonean artist, one Suleman E. Rogie. Originally composed as a palm wine song, 'My Little Elizabeth' went on to mesmerize the entire continent in late 60s, in Kinshasa, Lubumbashi, Lobito, Lusaka et, making a variety of spinoffs wherever it passed through. In Tanzania it was rendered as ' 'Nalala Mbali juu ya Pesa'!
Spot on. Symptom of our failed society. People get into positions too big for them. This was a golden chance to educate the world. Unfortunately, this kind of interview is not isolated. Somebody may remind them to study great interviewers to develop the art. I am not sure I understand what Kenyan media houses look for when employing presenters. It may be limited to some character only they know.
Its obvious here these interviewers are too young to know anything about this great man of Africa & Congolese music. They should have done their homework at least.
The interviewers themselves were awed and mesmerized and never asked any meaningful questions. How about those who had not heard of him before? The interview was not progressive at all. Kindly take it positively. Start with the basics - the musician's background, then move on systematically..
Interviewers with no research, and the guest didn't want to expose them so he just flowed along. If you don't know that Sweet Elzabeth is an old West African hit, then please, kindly avoid wanamuziki wakongwe. Stick to interviewing Gengetone and the like. What a waste of an opportunity!
I love Kanda Bongo man! I have been listening to him since I was 15. He has touched lives; I mean generations. I love you, our Legend.
Radio maisha you have failed to let this young kids interview such a legend!!!!!
This kids don’t know how to interview… oh my God 😮 they are not letting the Maestro finish giving out information
Kabisaaa saa Ile udaku imeshika ime ana uliza swali ya kifala 7:15
That's was the biggest mistake
Fred Obachi,Titi Nagwala,Haggai Isanya and Dee(Presenter 001) your services are highly needed. We need a quality interview with people who understands who KANDA is... please!
Those guys would have made the interview about them...
I agree

Fred obachi machoka should be the one to interview this guy
Yesterday I was playing roga roga for kids despite the fact they're in USA I tell them more about life back home and my mama was enjoying it on face time. ❤❤❤
Yap ...not these two losers ati what are you eating....off topic
Kanda Bongoma was and is still the African maestro, his songs are heaven sent and as he confirms they can just like that. I can listen to him all day long
That story on how he came up with his best-known song _Monie_ was GOLD. It shows that the best of things can come from not-the-best circumstances.
Wow the way I love Kanda Bongo songs 😌😌🥳 He is actually a great man
Am very privileged to have watched kanda live while in Nairobi in early 90s and severally here in Different Europe cities. This guys music is lovely kwasa kwasa and am very happy to have almost all his music 6 hours nonstop as mp3 on my phone which I listen to every time I think of listening to his music. His voice is really touching it is in harmony with his way of playing instruments. His music will never come out of fashion to my ears.
Am not a music fun but I love kanda Bongo man madly mostly with his dancing styles waaaawwwww
Kanda the Great. Good to see you. God keep blessing you.
Very good interview. Kanda bongo you are eloquent. God bless you and radio maisha
Kanda Bongoman is a top professional. No wonder he has stayed on top this long.

Lots of love watu walivunjika migongo meno vidole Ile song ya pesa pesa
This music used to be a hot hit when I was still a youth in early 1990s. It is still nice to listen to.
I want to meet him too. He’s my best musician
Kanda is a legend and he should be honoured in Kenya by being interviewed by someone who can remember back those years eg Fred obachi, titi nagwara and others,u can see he asks these journalists who was the information minister during the kibaki error and they don't know
Woow, that monie song Got me scratching my head. Just came out of the blue like that.
My lovely Elizabeth original song was done by Sierra Leonean musician in the 1960s or earlier. Mr. Kanda should give credit to this fellow.
Even now, when I hear bongo man songs,I just get refreshed.
His name was in everyone before coming and even after he left Tanzania. Remonds me of rolling my waist tryong to dance like Bongoman in 1993
Tik tok generation trying to accomodate a legend ....NI KAZI THOUGH! BUT hii ni kazi ya akina Uncle Fred and the like.

Legend! 🇸🇱🇺🇸
Seemingly the interviewers do not have touch with rhumba music especially from this legend.
Very true. They're shallow and seemed unprepared
Totos interviwing a Rhumba legend.
Kids are still doing inde morning yoyoyo.. Inde inde .. amoniser ft Dully sykes .. Inde song ..inspired by Kanda Bongo man
He is still the same Kanda Bongoman i was able to talk to him at JKIA Airport while he was on transit to Kinshasa.
THIS IS A LEGEND RIGHT THERE
To be fair, these two are also doing the interview well. They are equal to the task. They have not disappointed. Let us give our young presenters a chance too.
Just the background music defines the great man's creativity❤
68 years old and still doing shows only afew legends are still alive yondo kofie all pushing late 60's.

Poor interview approach from a rhumba legend .. Kanda Bongo Man is a big brand
Elizabeth originally sung by Rogie ..kindly note under title My lovely Elizabeth...similar beats
❤❤❤❤❤❤Nduku yangu Kanda twiende papa
Congo Yawa Congolese Ni Moto 💥💥💥💥💥💗💗💗
His memory has struck me all those years he only forgot the name of noah katanga ngala
True, he’s an icon
Wrong, he forgot the name of Raphael TUJU who was the minister of information and broadcasting in KIBAKIS government
I met him personally at vibro club lang'ata road..got some few pictures with him!A nice guy too.
Nakukubari sana mwamba bongomani haichukui kabisa

I was in my third year, but can't forget intercontinental
This guy has a gold voice

I salute you..imagine the lazy journalist could even know kanda bongoman was speaking about Raphael Tuju as minister for information in Kibaki era
No research .it’s all for clicks ,zero substance
He deserves big respect
A living legend...
Sasa mnaacha vifaranga kama mimi wanahoji legend? kueni serious 😂😂
Wewe hakuna kijiji kinachokosa wazee hata kwenu baba yako kaheshimiwa tangu wako vijana na mama yako hadi nyie watoto bado mwamuheshimu
Maze. Wamekosa sana
Old is Gold ❤
This old man should have met the blackest man in Africa.
Fred Obach mwenyewe. These interviewers are very chaotic. Very poor interviewing skills
u r the best of all
Kanda Mbongo man could have been interviewed with those people who danced to his music , who grew up in his music si hao watoi.
Its obvious here these interviewers are too young to know anything about this great man of Africa & Congolese music. They should have done their homework at least.
The only singer ever had a sold out show in Dar es salaam for like 1,000 USD per ticket today's exchange rate
I like how he's clear
A palm wine tapper climbs the palm tree from the bottom .~ African proverb.
Kanda, immigration issues would have been the last to talk about.
So inspiring
The twist seem was btwn Raphael Tuju, Catherine Kasavuli, Oyugi and Moi.
The journalists are not aware that Kanda Bongoman did a remix of an already very popular song Elizabeth. Google ingesaidia zaidi.
Hawa wanajua tu Anita Anita wangu...
Huyu mwamba ni kitu kingine asee!! Enzi zetu
Kanda bongo man I want to invite you for Wedding Party in Dar el salaam next year and how to contact
The interviewers themselves were awed and mesmerized and never asked any meaningful questions. How about those who had not heard of him before? The interview was not progressive at all. Kindly take it positively. Start with the basics - the musician's background, then move on systematically..
Refreshing show.
That's song melina making me crazy
Allah bless you
Please ask him about the lady dancers are they still alive?
so the interviewers do not even know Raphael Tuju, who even worked at KTN. Always do your research before such interviews.
Namkubali sana
Inde monie …kwasa kwasa💃🏾🕺🏾
Interviewers with no research, and the guest didn't want to expose them so he just flowed along. If you don't know that Sweet Elzabeth is an old West African hit, then please, kindly avoid wanamuziki wakongwe. Stick to interviewing Gengetone and the like. What a waste of an opportunity!
Ekipe song
ilikuwa lazima kumfanyia mahojiano kwa lugha ya kiingereza??
The guy speaks swahili i dont know why the interview wans't in swahili
These people don't even know Orchestra Bella Bella..People born the other day interviewing Kanda Bongo Man??
The journalists are definitely kids..They don't Balala was Tourism minister during Kibaki government
Kanda bongo man
Omg ..Kanda bongoman
But sweet Elizabeth is not his own composition but SE Rogie Sierra Leone.
