    I have had Septic shock twice and sepsis 5 times due to kidney damage. I thought I was going crazy wondering why I was not focusing on living and constantly worrying about getting it again. I thought my menopause was brutal but this explains alot to me.

    I'm happy you did this video and still with us! 2023 I had MRSA which became sepsis and pneumonia. Spent 13 days in ICU and Cardiac Renal Unit just to get out of the hospital with C. Diff. I have neuropathy and I have a serious problem with pain and walking. I still have brain fog and itaitable. Got my gallbladder removed on my 40th birthday and I have lingering effects with walking still. God bless everyone that's made it. It's a battle

    Wow this is very pertinent information! I just found you. I think my son had sepsis from 2 severe infected abscesses. He was acting crazy and one morning he came in the kitchen screaming he was freezing. He was angry crying sleeping for hours and hours. The dentist did emergency surgery cut both teeth out. He was drinking alcohol to kill the pain prior to the Surgery which made it worse. After the surgery he was on heavy duty antibiotics and steroids and more drugs OxyContin 30 mg. He was going crazy 1 week of this medication. Screaming yelling running out the door . It was awful. They never actually said it was sepsis but I believe it was.

    TBF the hospital didn't even tell me I had sepsis, they still haven't told me to this day. After I survived the sepsis they claimed I had chrons and left me on steroids for 6 months, no pain relief for a year and when I finally saw gastro consultant he was confused why anyone thought I ever had chrons. I learnt about my sepsis through a SAR after a friend who is a doctor told me it was sepsis

      Tell me why I didn’t find out I had sepsis in 2017 until 2023?!!! I gave birth to my second daughter in November and the nurse said “you’ve previously had sepsis?” And I was like ummm no? Pretty sure I’d remember if I had sepsis lol can you check again? And she showed me my chart that I had sepsis from pneumonia back in 2017. I remember I was at work that day and had been recovering from pneumonia but I felt okay, just like I was weak on the up from being sick, and that night I legitimately felt like I was dying. I was almost hallucinating, completely out of it and crying out for my mom just tossing and turning in my bed and shivering but sweating profusely. She drove me to the ER and THEY NEVER TOLD ME I WAS SEPTIC. They kept me for around 5-7 days pumping me with antibiotics and not one single time did any doctor or nurse tell me that I had sepsis, just that I had pneumonia. Why wouldn’t they have told me or my mom?!!! I had been to med express a couple times prior over that last couple weeks, but that wasn’t anything they could have been liable for?!

      @@sarwall_ I was hospitalized for severe pneumonia in June of last year. I was hallucinating, pulse was 156, I was in A-fib. I was put in for 12 days. I was told I had severe pneumonia. The stuff in my lung, the lower lobe just would not move! so, I had to have a chest tube put in, and left in for 11 days. One of my favorite nurses answered my questions and then I heard the word "sepsis". Also, I went home with absolutely NO special instructions. When I got home and read my chart in my portal, I learned how very sick I actually was. They were afraid that I was going to code in the ER!! I am 68 and figured the reason I have not bounced back was because of my age. From you all, I have learned maybe not. I live in fear of sepsis again. Let's all keep each other in our prayers, OK? God bless...

    I am 72 years old, & I had sepsis about 6 weeks ago. I had never heard of it. My friend found me unconscious & passed out on the kitchen floor. She called the rescue squad. They worked on me for more than an hour, before they transported me to the hospital. I spent 6 days there in ICU, and I still didn't know what was happening to me. I now have trouble walking, & I must use a cane. I was rarely sick my whole life, until sepsis. Now I am very weak, cold all the time, I must have a cane to navigate, & my brain just isn't the same. Something needs to be done so people can be aware. I have never been that sick, never. My fear of having it again, scares the crap out of me. Next time I might not be as lucky to survive. People need to be made aware, & they need to be made aware now, not tomorrow. Please do something about making all humans aware of sepsis, & what it can do! Please!

    • @staceyshields3118
      @staceyshields3118 2 месяца назад

      I agree. People need to become aware. The hospitals need to start classes with their staff. Also, for some reason when you bring up sepsis some people act like you’re saying a bad word. People talking about it that I don’t really care. I didn’t know what it was either and no one explained it to me. I ran across the discharge papers months after I was got home. But I never asked anyone because I didn’t know anything about it. Until I watched the show autopsy and every other episode someone has Sepsis /Septic Shock. I started researching it that was about five months after I had been home.

    I dled April 2021 of ludwigs angina I was compelled to excise my necrosis at 4 am with scissors and a mirror. I'm homeless have no insurance, no access to health care. But it's amazing to hear your list of symptoms . I'm constantly freezing even in temps of 75 degrees. I wear a hoody all the time I have no energy all I can manage is to prepare a meal then sleep I have insomia half of the night, sleep or at least lay down 16 plus Hours a day . I have peripheral neuropathy in my hands and feet with constant stinging and burning. it feels like I have my hands and feet under the hot faucet all day every day even while im freezing. Sporadicly have what feels like bee stings randomly in my hands feet arms and legs. Constant muscle aches full body I treat it with herbs. Even after treatment with white thyme and DMSO it drops to a 2 out of 5 with 2 being debilitating pain and 5 excruciating, the worst pain you can fathom. I am lethargic beyond my wildest nightmare. I lost 75 lbs nearly 30% of my body wieght after death have only been able to recover aprox. 25 of them I look like a walking skeleton I'm 60 years old. What are any of you doing to help yourselves live better?

    Got Sepsis twice in one month, first time just after a pacemaker implanted due to heart problems. I was in hospital for three days that time but sent home ear,y because of a doctors strike. They sent me home with a month's supply of antibiotic pills. One week later, l was back in hospital with the same problem, only worse. This time I had the shakes and low blood pressure, one night I had the shakes so bad that it took three nurses to hold me down whist they got paracetamol in to me. I thought I was going to die. I finally made it home but my short term memory is bad, constantly feel tired and plenty of aches and pains. It's now a year since it happened and just had my 80th birthday. 😂👍

      @laurawilliamssepsiseducati5642  3 года назад +1

      @@2ladyhomesteadershodge898 right one of the big things is it can take a while. What I did was I cut my hair. I used oil and protein mask in my hair every few weeks. Get some handcream and make sure that she rubs it in to her hands and nails and just below Below where the nail is there is a dip and that’s where the nail starts growing that is something called the matrix so get her to rub there as well because it will stimulate the circulation. You need to make sure that you’re at some point seeing a podiatrist with her because one of the things that can happen is nerve damage. The reason why it is when you have sepsis the main thing that your body is trying to do is to keep blood and oxygen in your brain heart and lungs and everything else is an afterthought so this is why you can lose your hair about a month after because her nails and skin it’s a 28 day cycle So if you’re using a new face cream for example use it for 28 days because it’s only then that you actually see what your skin looks like with that cream. I like my analogies can you tell? For some people it can take a while it sounds like she had a pretty major infection and please make sure that you’re keeping an eye Out for signs of infection because the first three months are where the blood count is so low. Have you been in contact with any of the Sepsis charities. Are you on Facebook?

    I had Sepsis around two years ago caused by an infected Gallbladder which progressed to Septic Shock. I was in an induced coma for 3 days and almost died.
    What I recall is very different from what you are describing. I, of course, had a high temperature. I was unable to control any of my body movements. If I tried to get up it was almost impossible and I would actually lose total control of my movements, flying against walls, etc.
    I had respiratory failure when oxygen was taken off for an xray before a diagnosis was made. However, after surviving I had no other symptoms. It was also very difficult listening to your video as you spoke so slowly.

    Is pseudomonas aeriginosa sepsis? I had an operation and stopped breathing, so they had to revive me.
    I became extremely sick and had chest wall pain (had implants removed), and they saw a mass, but no one would believe me. that something was definitely wrong. I had a high fever, and could hardly breathe or use my left hand. Finally, 7 weeks later I said I couldn’t breathe and my doctor sent me back to ER, and my incision had festered. I have almost EVERY symptom you mentioned, plus, a strange thing occurred. My childhood that I had for 20 years, leg pain started up again and 6 years later, I have keg pain every afternoon until night .
    I was recently diagnosed with acute Lyme disease and other viruses resurfaced.
    I thought all these symptoms were from the Lyme, but these leg aches developed again after this superbug infection is very suspicious to me.
    I’m not sure if that bug reactivated something in me. I’ve been ill for 22 years from toxins, so I’m trying put the copies if the puzzle together.
    Thanks for the video.
    I find the temperature intolerance and upper arm and back weakness and rice be nuts. I use a tiny shovel and the better days, my hand hurts! Keep up your good energy❣️ 14:09

I was released 4 days later. Follow up with my primary 2 days later, He send me back to the hospital for a stat Contrast CT angio study which reveals Covid19 Pneumonia spots and Small Blood Clots and an area that couldn't be read with dye with 4 tries. So I am on blood thinners and Dexamethasone. I am nervous about my immune response and inflammation starting the moment I run out of this medication. I just wish I knew if I will have a relapse or how can I prevent one from happening.

      I am very sorry that you felt this way. I am talking from my personal experience. Often my memory is impaired. What would you like me to be more clear on and I can do that for you Sherrie

      Sheri , same - basically she explains what sepsis is , then the long term effects......get some counseling, take your misdirected rage somewhere else!! - as a nurse and a sepsis survivor , spot on !!! Lost almost all my kidney function post sepsis.....one came back one didn't
