Yeah, that's true. I agree.
Originally he seemed to be genuinely interested in educating, similar to Steve Irwin. The sting index was a fascinating series, but things like the original centipede video certainly felt fueled by the need for shocking content. In the end those sting and bite videos were still educational; this is what happens when you get bit/ stung by this animal. But now I'm not so sure. Their thumbnails and titles got more and more clickbait style over time, videos formatted in ways to get you to watch the whole thing, stuff like that.

Fellow Aussie invert keeper from Brissie! Genuinely love this channel, my biggest annoyance on RUclips and other media is people putting up constant misinformation or vilifying random invertebrates for clicks. It's amazing to find someone who's just honest about the fascinating arachnids around and goes to extreme lengths to prove they're harmless. Keep goin' the way you are!

Was a big fan of Coyote way back in the day when the channel was tiny. Understood he wasn't an expert, but provided basic facts in a comprehensive, entertaining way. It was like the longer things went the worse it got, from misinformation to clearly distressing animals. As others have said, including yourself, I believe, I don't blame him specifically for some of these instances as he's not really a zoologist, but the sting series especially was disappointing in how it was clearly engagement farming.

Exactly. It's like they ignore what David Attenborough says and would prefer the "entertaining" information that Monsters Resurrected and Jurassic Fight Club as being the only "accurate" documentaries.
Since most of my paleo content is focused on fairly niche stuff like invertebrates, I’ve largely avoided that part of the community. But I’m sure my occasional ventures into more “mainstream” Paleontology topics (namely my planned Livyatan/megalodon video) will garner a few more comments from the nutters.

I've seen some of your vids before and enjoyed them. I usually oscillate between nature shows, history, and comedy. Had not been back to see your stuff in a little while. Right before seeing this vid, I had been watching a bunch of celebrities reading mean Tweets on Jimmy Kimmel Live. The algorithm must have figured out that there was an intersection between my interest in nature content and people reading hate mail when it recommended this gem. Keep up the good work.

As a fellow beast of the land, few things give me more satisfaction than seeing the smaller critters get away and keep on living. I often go out of my way to try to get them to safety. Something about it makes me happier than hell. I get shit for it, of course, but I dont give a damn. In my mind, they have the same right to live as I do.
i always love it when people act like youre "too scared" or something, if you knew anything about centipedes and people who keep centipedes you would know that its nearly impossible to own centipedes for years without getting bitten. its just an inevitability that you need to prepare for. thats not to say they cant learn to trust you and let you handle them, its just that the process will involve multiple bites

Maybe they are all children? It could be they are kids still learning standard English and how to write well? I'd think that a good portion of people that love Coyote P. are not fully grown nor have finished high school [or even Jr high or grade school?]. Well I for one have been enjoying this channel's insulation, we're having a very cold winter down here in Melbourne.
Reoccuring wounds is a problem with skin or some infection, it is irrelevant what caused the inflammation in the first place. I had a reoccurring sore on my finger for months even though noone bit or stang me, my skin is just too dry so it doesn't heal properly.
Its hard to tell if some of these are legitimate hatemail, or just trolls

I found the male with 5 legs and when it molted. The three missing legs came back, amazing regeneration in thier dna. It would be a good thing for research for people with missing limbs. Im a gardener landscaper have worked from logan qld to yhe south coast nsw. Ive never had the pleasure of finding a funnelweb, i mean ive found abandoned webs but never spotted the little guys.
Plenty of golden orbys and st andrews cross spiders, see a few of them a day and ofcouse the black house spiders. I love those little guys. Only spidr ive had the balls to handle straight on my hand, not including jumping spiders or the daddy longlegs. Are they harvesters here in Australia? Idk but you know what i mean, the aussie daddy longlegs.
Harvestmen are in Australia, but I don’t see them often. They seem to be mostly rainforest animals.

That comment praising LOOP is ironically the sort of comment that shows why LOOP (and ToL) fanboys are so harmful to public understanding.
I can sort of understand Trilogy of Life “fanboys” due to the series’ nostalgia appeal and how well-done it was from an artistic standpoint (minus some seriously questionable designs).
But LooP was a complete disjointed mess and wouldn’t have been a great documentary even without the factual errors.

I’ve had that sort of abuse since my mother died of a horrid illness when I was 7 and there were people who told me that I murdered my own mother and that she never loved me. Some people say that this is extreme, however, if RUclips gives me at least this liberty, I will use it. In the past I didn’t do it, but later I changed attitude. Just like you don’t tolerate somebody going into your own home insulting you, no matter if they are right or not, the same applies to the channel.
