I reccomend having another cat though because they do suffer from separation anxiety if left home alone. I started with one, now i have 3 and I’m thinking of getting another one 😂

Also I don't get why they changed the line. It was making the cats seem more exotic by mentioning where they came from and how fine they are. To me it wasn't any more offensive than the rest of the song.
This is great, my mom had The Lady and the Tramp album, and this was my favorite, i would play it over and over on the turntable when i was a toddler. I think Siouxsie of the Banshees was influenced by this song
And they changed the "We are former residents of Siam,there are no finer cat than I am " part, which is a pefrect rhyme, and replaced it with"now we're looking over our new domicile, If we like it we'll be staying for quite a while ..." Which feels a bit uneven in terms of the flow ... Granted,I don't know if they it in the original ( which to be fair stills sounds like Peggy Lee ,but with technology nowadays you never know ) ... All and all great song/ performance, Back when Disney had magic 🪄
The older versions are always better. I compared the original and the newest versions of this song, but in pt-br, and i got scared. The original version has so much more personality and uniqueness, while the new one is shallow
I'll be fully honest, I don't mind this depiction. The movie has lots of animals inspired by their origin countries and had to find a way to make it evident to casual audiences in a time where there was no Internet. Boris is an example of this, as he's pretty much a Russian stereotype, but also arguably the wisest character in the whole movie. It's just a bunch of foreign tropes expressed in characters with different moral alignments and personalities, and I think it's pretty neat in a time where lots of depictions of foreign characters were outright malicious.
