Yes indeed....the Tuscaloosa high-end EF-4 heading towards Birmingham, where it would kill around 16 people (If I recall correctly) Questions: The tornado looks like it's headed directly or almost directly towards the facility. Did the facility get hit by the tornado? If not, then how close to the facility did it get? Thanks.
The absolute #1 theory about tornadoes. No matter how big they seem to be from a distance, if it's not moving from 1 side or another, then it's coming right at YOU!
Thanks to the very good video quality for the day & the steady hand of the videographer, this is an impressive view of the Tuscaloosa high-end EF heading towards Birmingham & its suburbs! Sadly, in addition to the 40 or so fatalities it caused in Tuscaloosa, it would kill around 16 people in/around Birmingham (if I recall correctly). QUESTIONS: The tornado looks like it's headed directly or almost directly towards the facility. Did the facility get hit by the tornado? If not, then how close to the facility did it get? Alos, wonder if these witnesses & videographer were interviewed after the event, as they had a great view of it & could hear the sound quite clearly. Thanks.
All the respect and condolences for the families that lost everything including life that day, BUT Skeeter and Jim Bob have GOT to forecast the weather 😂😂
Synching up Jason Simpson's voice from the ABC 33/40 broadcast in the background at the end of this video, it is the tornado coming into Birmingham after it had destroyed Tuscaloosa. There were also tornadoes near Vernon and Sawyerville at the same time so it could be one of those.
If it is the Tuscaloosa tornado as it is coming into NW Birmingham, this would be a fairly rare shot of it from north of the storm. Most of the videos of the tornado coming into Birmingham were shot from the south in downtown Birmingham where it looks like the entire meso is on the ground. An exception is Dustin Denny's Fultondale video that was filmed from the north of the storm.
Its probably the Tuscaloosa Tornado according to stoney1716 comment, since there was no tornadoes near Vernon, for Sawyerville there was one although the guy in the video is saying something about devastating the South part of a area.
That pickup has a light-duty crane on back like many LP gas companies use but there's no signage in it. If somebody recognizes the type of ground infrastructure with the many posts, sidewalk, lightposts, etc I'd bet we can pin down the location. At first I thought it might be a campground but that doesn't jibe with the rest and those usually have gravel where you park. (Added- also the guy walking across the shot seems to have a round hard hat on,m so maybe an electric company equipment yard which would explain why it's empty)
This just gives me more reason to believe it's Tuscaloosa after hitting Tuscaloosa and now growing into a even more massive wedge. It slabbed houses around this time actually
This is most likely Smithville in my opinion, this happened in a way more rural area, if this were the Hackleburg tornado, it would've most likely have had the buildings of athens or tanner nearby, but this couldve been the Smithville tornado around Baxxter
Taken at Village Creek Water Reclamation Facility in Birmingham. THANKS to AMadLadOfReddit for finding the location. This is indeed Birmingham.
This is rare video then

Tuscaloosa/Birmingham Tornado, location: Village Creek Water Reclamation Facility just outside of Birmingham
Thank you for the info. I was certain it had to be some kind of industrial facility.
"Oh, good God, man! It looks like it's getting wider!"
No sir; it's coming right AT you!

Rare
This is either Hackleburg, or one of the Smithville supercell (2) tornadoes, since it looks similar to one of those three
Its racing towards them.. Gotta be the Smithville or Hackleburg twister moving that fast😮
Tuscaloosa-Birmingham
@JakkzOfficial I didn't know that tornado was moving that fast😳 Wow
Smithville is a possibility. The cloud’s structure looked very similar to when it was forming and early into its life

Being an Alabama guy originally, sure sounds like a Bama accent

Git-R-done!
Could it be the Cordova EF4? Wasn’t that part of the Smithville supercell?
Tuscaloosa-Birmingham
My best guess would be Bridgeport
Bridgeport never had this look or this low of a look to it in its life. Monster wedge but the cloud structure was never like this
Looks very similar to Hackleburg probably is

If it’s Hackleburg then when it is a wedge it would be very dark
@2011SuperOutbreakArchive that is true, this most likely is the Smithville tornado then
Not the Smithville tornado. Taken near Village Creek Reclamation Facility in Birmingham.
@@kevinjoyce285 Tuscaloosa?!
@ShartyGenoPizzaRollz erm yeah, tuscaloosa also passed over rural areas and was a dark wedge like this
have you contacted tornado forensics?
Rainy_Saturday just sent me his discord
@ okay good, In didn’t know he had one’
I'd say its more than likely to be Smithville
most likely hackleburg
the wedge shape looks like hackleburg or smithville, i'm voting smithville
Actually, if you listen to Jason Simpson near the end, it took place after both of them died out.
@@LDRTHM i stand corrected, also it has been confirmed to be tuscaloosa-birmingham
