    Wouldn't the infeed side need a bar to push the sheet back up to the correct height before feeding it in? Surely there's enough distance of unsupported sheet so that the cutter doesn't bend the metal, but it seems to me that there is no assurance that the sheet will spring back to its original level.

    Nice, but it would have been better if the sheet actually slid into place instead of appearing.

      BDC = blank die clamp - :) i used presses in 70s 80s 25yrs

      @@markissboi3583 BDC is bottom dead center, i.e. the lowest point in the stroke of the press die. It appears twice in this video because it shows a double-die press, where the same drive shaft powers two separate cross-heads with different stroke (vertical travel) and timing. The outer (blanking) tool has a short stroke & gets to BDC early in the cycle, the inner (draw punch) follows - as logically the cup can't be formed (drawn) until after it is blanked (cut from the flat sheet.)

    Say what you want but engineering is cool. I mean, mega cool. Mechanical engineers build things like these aluminum can making machines, not guys that sit around all day in their mom's basement playing video games.
