- Pneumatic Punch Press Feeders are relatively cheap devices, however they can reduce manufacturing cost substantially. Servo controlled feeders slowly replace this old, but reliable technology.
Finally one where the work isn't thrown in a heap on the floor after every step.
there are some flaps that back the coil over decoiler, the position of those flaps changes anytime from 1 roll to other...then the alignment between coil & die changes often. another reason we have to keep it far is that it is hard to synchronize the speed of decoiler and the feed in press. longer distance makes a buffer for this. linear speed of unrolled material slows down as roll is spent but press keeps a constant rhythm.

@pontian16 No it is 1mm thick Iron. There is no particular reason for setting it apart from punch machine. We could have kept it closer. Next time I will try it closer.

You should roll the rest parts it can be useful for other applications, ventilation systems, on planes to solidify the separations between bigger parts
Three years ago I purchased it from Ebay for $250. It was a rare opportunity. I did not see similar offer since then. However, you might build an Arduino controlled system yourself doing similar job.

This is very old machine and it was in working condition, I purchased it from eBay for $250 (USA). I paid extra $100 for a valve that is attached to the press. I was lucky to find one. If you look up to eBay for "pneumatic feeder" you may find something to buy in there. I do not now the cost of new ones, but I am seure that they are above $3000 or more. My friend still use the one you see in the video.

A re-coiler or even scrap cutter at the end would be useful. Wouldn't want to pick that scrap up off the floor. Also the clamps used to hold die-set down although working are not appropriate.
Yes, scrap cutter would help a lot. Now they use servo driver which includes also scrap cutter.

What is the punch force tonnage?what maximun rhickness of steel plate can be punched?what size or type of compressor needed?thanks
The tonnage of the press is 30, which is considered a small press; the maximum thickness to be punched hole would be dependent on panch circumference. The Air pressure used in this system was six-bar, and it was a very old compressor. The punched hole diameter seen in the video is 12 cm. The plate's thickness is 1 millimeter.

ohh..i thought you want to cool it or something, but the rolls don't seem to have heaters though..btw, i like your videos, it kinda help me in my studies, hope you can post lot more vid in the future.
We use in my factory different kinds of feeder but decoiler/straightener is kept far from press.I don't know the "science" behind that but: it is hard to align rolls with dies, then longer distance minimizes the potential angle between coil & die.We keep the guides in the die as tight as possible.If material comes with a deviation, it gets stuck.Our dies/coils are hard to align due to different dimensions/location over press & decoilers usually have a screw to fit inner diameter of rolls. did you use pneumatic cylinder for this? wats the bore and short size used?
I purchased pneumatic feeder from eBay. I don't know exact bore size but I guess it is 50mm. Stroke goes up to 200mm adjustable with stoppers.

That I don't know. My friend has big compressor in his factory and they use so many pneumatic equipment and pressurized air was coming from a central compressor which was very large.
