Victoria Wood did base it very much on this (and also the sacking of Noele Gordon from Crossroads). Victoria's husband at the time recalled watching this with her and said to her that it was an absolute gift and she had to do an Acorn Antiques version. Victoria Wood had also met the producer, Julia Smith, before and based the Marion Clune character on her. Apparently the cast of EastEnders saw the acorn antiques episode and thought it was hilarious. Julia Smith apparently did not!
Manda Clody I think June said about getting her teeth done when accepting her Lifetime Achievement award at the soap awards, she said something like you have to be in it a bit before you get the money lols
@@zanducktv2398 I did read somewhere that June wanted to get her teeth done, but producers refused, as they said Dot wouldn't be able to afford dental work. They eventually relented when June's teeth started to become loose, and she was then allowed to have dental work done
Love all the indoor smoking 😂
I loved watching the old Eastends x
This puts me in mind of the spoof Acorn Antiques making of documentary
Yeah lol I loved that
Oh God yeah 😂 especially the tone of the narrator!

So happy to see Julia Smith and Tony Holland in this vid.
This episode ..the one they were filming aired today on Drama!
How rude and nosey asking Wendy Richard all those personal questions.
Gee whiz wendy is so darn pretty!!! ❤
Wendy Richards was still quite an attractive woman at this point (5:30). The hairstyle and clothes of Pauline didn't do her many favours though.
This is really good, thanks again endersfan, was there any particular reason why this got shown on television? xxxxx
BestSoapFanEver It was part of a series called Just Another Day that was about a day in the life of several different subjects.
June Brown's lack of her Dot wig took decades off of her
Proper drama then wasn't it
Dots teeth.. Lord you wouldn't see people on TV with teeth like that now

@@robtaylor5310you'd think they could have let JB get her teeth done and then created prosthetic "Dot teeth."
