Had a few of these cars brought in. It's a case of the people who salvaged them wanted to do it without spending any money and the cover up job is ridiculous.
no insurance approved body shop would do such poor work, this is a rod young garage work done avoiding going through the insurers and done to the cheapest possible ,
Correct it wasn’t an insurance job as it was written off, a guy bought it from auction and paid a bodyshop to fix it. If it had been done at an insurance approved bodyshop it would have been done properly !
Would never buy ANY crash repaired car !! People buy these cars because its cheaper for them , bit newer car for less money ! Only to pay 2-3 times more insurance! Insurance company charges way more because they have no idea how well it was repaired . you're not saving any money !
I’ve had a written off car in the past but the insurance was the same, however it’s not a bad idea to just avoid anything with an accident history. Thanks.
Not true. I have 3 cars - two Cat S and one Cat N. No difference on insurance. I also repaired two of them - simple panel/headlight/bumper/radiator replacement. Do your research. Some Category cars are worse than others.
@@aallan646 I asked my insurance company and they said no rating. I’m a private buyer and did my own repairs so that we could keep/use the cars rather than sell on.
Personally, I'd most likely avoid getting hold of a Cat S car. Cat N is less to worry about. The other thing to be aware of is that the damage history shows up on a search even when repaired. Sometimes this might affect final resale value.

I suspect the guy found the cheapest place possible to fix it ! Pretty horrendous, I’m still sourcing parts but getting there. Cheers

This car looked as though it was ‘repaired’ in Birmingham or Bradford 🤣
I cannot confirm or deny that the customer may or may not come from one of the two places mentioned… 😆

@mrjones9915 so you fix cars to sell?? Or in the trade ! If you're a private buyer, insurance will cost more ! Done my research !
