Mostly Cheri, I would say....at least among those that stayed a while. Nancy Walls was quickly eclipsed by both Cheri and Molly Shannon. i always felt like more people revered Molly, but didn't quite get Cheri's brilliance! The "women of SNL" renaissance was just few years too late for Ms. Oteri...she absolutely should have been a bigger star! Whether that's the fault of the writers/producers, who knows? There are so many (perhaps apocryphal) stories about the possible misogyny or sexism keeping women down - the stuff with Belushi and some of the early writers is pretty well documented. Sad for Cheri...she...was...terrific!
Love her so much. Took me a long time in life to realize that when a guy says he's looking for a girl with a sense of humor, he's not looking for a girl who's funny. He's looking for a girl who thinks HE'S funny.
