I have lots of pro level gear - but I feel like I would feel a bit guilty carrying a $1K iPhone in my pocket and shooting the Pocket 3 - knowing they do just about the same thing. The footage is good - but so far the more real world non-paid creator videos examples I see - I think the insta360 1" sensor outputs just about as well - and my iPhone - it's water proof. Maybe if DJI made a pocket that could make phone calls....thanks for taking the time to do a real world post - these types of videos are probably appreciated by many more people than me (I would think). I barely take the time to watch full time creator reviews anymore - they are like the news, every channel says the same thing - all told by pretty people under pretty lighting and nice mics ;-)
I also film with the iPhone but where it fails for me, is the storage mine only has 256gb and shooting in ProRes is lovely an all but then for this model the transfer time to the Mac is soo slow. For a pick up and go the Pocket 3 is quick, has a Micro SD card slot and then the Micro SD transfer time when plugged into my computer is a lot quicker. Oh the sound is better on the Pocket 3 as is the stability compared to my 13 Pro Max.
1, Can the mimo app controll the pocket 3 via a usbC cable?
2. Can the mimo app direct the camera via physically pointing the phone in the direction youd like to record?
1 not from an iPhone (Lighting to USB C) 2 : if you mean like the DJI Ronin can for camera movement - not yet in the App but I see no reason why DJI can not put an update out.

Well, as a cyclist i hoped for a review on the bike… so much for cycling adventures. As this seems not water resistant (eg sweat..) i think it’s not a camera for on the bike filming.
I used to use the Pocket 2 on my rides ok, but yep that was not waterproof around the gimbal vent's - I'd expect this to be much the same. My next video will be in the Lakes filming the Hillclimb 'The Struggle' on Sunday and also time permitting a ride around Tan Hill in the afternoon with this Pocket 3 on the way back home.
My gosh ! That Hover drone is awfully loud ! What a horrible screeching noise it's making ! Useless for any live sound application shooting. OK for "B" roll shooting where you're adding your own soundtrack later I suppose. P.S. That music you're using for your cut away transition scenes is really horrible as well ! This excruciating techno music does not fit with the Pastoral countryside you showing on screen.

@@englishcyclist BTW, I also own the OG OSMO Pocket, and I have shot a ton of great footage on that little instrument. Looks like the OSMO Pocket # 3 is a great improvement over the first two versions of this camera.

Auto everything at first and just ease into what you want to film, after a while you will pick up new things it can do.
I’m currently using an iPhone 12 Pro Max with a DJI gimbal. Trying to decide if this pocket 3 would be any kind of a step up in image quality.
Mmm good question, my iPhone 13 Pro Max footage with Blackmagic camera app looks awesome! But file sizes in ProRes take forever to transfer and edit.

This „horrible“ little drone is a great one! Because I can use it. The DJI drone stays most of the time at home. With my dogs on the run is is horrible to use. For the hoover X1 I don’t need a controller or a smartphone - and that’s really great1

Everything was auto - Normal colour profile for the first run and I used a cinecolor.io Magic Lut over the lot, Audio is native and +4db (I was expecting to run it by Audio enhancement in Premiere but it came out alright)
@@englishcyclist so did you then shoot in D-Log M to use the lut?
no not this time, wanted to see what Auto did with it first. D-Log will come soon though.

I am amazed it came out as good as it did - light was rubbish as you can see from the Hover X1 footage! I am very pleased with it, as it is out of the box.
