Anyway, your Fox looked good, especially since you'd barely used it before now. 2015 might be your time since I bet you'll keep getting better with the Fox and already took 2nd in the biggest event of all time. Shame about the Peach though, but it looked kinda hard to use against Marth and Jiggs. I heard you're a school teacher, is that true?
Even though the meta has evolved so much, and with both these players out of the game now, I have got to say, this is seriously one of the best sets to one of the hypest tournaments of all time.

Great job to PPMD for winning TWO CONSECUTIVE APEXES!! WOW! After a hiatus, too!!
These guys were the most on-point I've EVER seen them: PP with that great mental game, Armada with that pure tech skill. These guys have gotten SO good SO incredibly fast it's unbelievable. It's just great, great Smash. Gratz to both players for such an amazing showing.

StarTard's YT Hub PP's Falco was on point first set for sure, and his Marth was on point in the second set as well. But GOD DAMN does Armada's fox look sloppy.

Are yall gonna post some N64 Matches from Apex 2015? I'd love to watch them. (too bad isai couldnt make it to the event)
He did play at the last apex 2014, but I think it was due to financial constraints or time issues he wasnt able to go.

Schéraz He is dealing physical problems. From what I understand he has low testosterone which gives him not energy and a lack of focus. So he has been taking a lot of time off trying to figure out the cause of it.

Hello! This is one of my most favorite sets of all time; metagame did indeed make me come here again, but APEX 2015 has some other peak Melee moments such as "my B" and amazing Bizzaroflame clips. Bless this tourney.

Nathan Harris Haha. I felt so depressed about PPMD's performance on Friday. He's such an amazing player. Do you think it's related to his depression and health issues and what not still?
I did hear about some health issues, such as really low energy from chemical imbalance. I heard his depression was getting better but that he's taking supplements from doctors to get his energy back. I'm not sure what the current story is. He certainly didn't seem to think he was back up to 100%. I'm just starting to wonder if he's ever going to get back to where he was.

Can anyone tell me why Armada's Fox didn't get launched by Falco's shine at 15:38? Instead he went into missed tech position for some reason. Is this not as weird as I think it is? Is it a stage quirk or amazing SDI or something? PP reacted to it perfectly so maybe it's normal and I just don't know enough about melee. Or maybe PP is literally a God.
Could have been the invisible ceiling glitch, SDI, or stage shenanigans.

This is the defining point of high competitive Melee.
Honestly PPMD is the greatest god, he’s the only one with out a weakness. Mang0 can never beat Armada, Armada can’t beat Hbox. M2king can beat all of them (SUMMIT) but he gets shook if goes into losers. PPMD is just way too good. After watching Mang0 beat Armada, and Hbox with Falco I still think PPMDs falco from 3 years ago was better. Like honestly, PPMD is like Armada and m2k combined. Analytical, and very mild, he doesn’t let emotions beat him, he always plays the best options. I love that, I try to do the same. PPMD please comeback and beat Hbox.....
BriLife PP was a shooting star. If he ever comes back, it would be improbable that he's as good as he used to.

How did Armada's Fox reach that level? He's only been in the lab with him for a short while and he's already imo the second best Fox after Mango (his consistent wins on Leffen puts him at second). He made Hungrybox look like he had never played a Fox before, too. O_o
leffen is a better fox(in general) but leffen is complete ass at fox dittos which is why its hard for him to win majors but armada has an amazing fox
ShadowshadeGaming101 Sorry to say it but Armada's Fox is clearly better. I love both players, but it's obvious Armada's tech skill is better than Leffen's. Just look at their Fox ditto set which I'm sure you have. Also, Armada's Fox beat Hungrybox's Jigglypuff, took a set off PPMD's Marth, and beat Mango's Falcon. Can't say that for Leffen. His Fox didn't just beat Leffen's Fox just because he's bad at Fox dittos, although I'm not sure that's the case since he's beaten Hax, and Chillin a lot. He just can't beat Armada's, and for a reason.
If you follow tourneys in Europe, you'll have seen that Armada has used fox before Paragon and Evo. He's been training w/ fox for at least several months.

I played with him a lot between March/May last year, but because smash of summer I dropped him completely.
So I'm not super new to the char by any means, but my experience with him is very limited to other top Foxes (or compared to my Peach)
This was the greatest tournament.
This is the best set of all time.
I loved this set the only complaint I'd have was that Toph and D1 seemed to lack a bit of synergy. They just don't click like Toph and Scar, or D1 and Prog. Granted Prog's retired except when he's not.
can we talk about that amazing edgeguard sequence of armada's first stock in game four? looks like he shinestalled twice because he knew randall was coming, but pp also knew and put out a bair anyway.
I don't know what they were saying ,but I do know that after game 2 they were cheering Falco for PPMD.

Whyd he lose twice with marth win twice with falco then go back to marth
He knew what he was doing. It was the right choice. The reason he lost was because at the starting he messed up, and lost his stock, and at 0%. Instead of Armada losing the stock, PP lost the stock at 0% which is a big game changer. He also got him to the last stock as well, despite the -1 for him, and +1 for Armada. He would've had it for sure if it wasn't for that screw up.

If you watch the interviews, PP actually assessed Marth to be a good idea for Dreamland either way. If Armada had gone Peach, it would have been a win for PP, so PP knew Armada would go Fox, and he'd get another opportunity to learn more about the Marth. He used the info he gathered in game five in the reset.
Because armada counter picked to dreamland, and peach dominates falco on dreamland. He looked at those two options (Marth vs fox which hadn't been doing well, or falco vs Peach on a very bad stage matchup wise) and made the right decision, because as he won the second set with only Marth, he was able to adapt to armadas play style.
Except PP came back to win three games straight in the match-up. It was a calculated loss on his part.

Armada's DI on Marth's F-air was so good those games. I got so excited every time PPMD got the hit, but Armada would go so far horizontally he never got the setup for the D-air :( But PP's Marth... 19:18 that stock is just Kreygasm.
At 16:35 , How did Armada roll and then grab the edge there?
+Liam Hopfensperger sorry, first of all he didn't tech right. he got shot down from the side b and then he just rolled right. he didn't tech right at all. i slowed down the video and there is no puff of smoke from wavedashing after the roll. which means he did not wavedash. to further prove he did not wavedash, by slowing the video down and pausing very frequently after he gets up from the roll, he does not do the crouching part of fox's jump animation, which means he did not jump, which means he did not wavedash.
D1 says that armada held down, allowing him to grab the edge. But I tried and I can never slide off the edge.

So, when I think back on these sets and PPs play, I usually think of the Marth. But the bird definitely had some moments.
Also, Armada's fox is insane.

I'm guessing there are a lot of pros here, so I just want to ask some tips for melee, because I suck at it and I want to be really good at it. what is the fastest way to improve in that game? (I guess it would also depend on what characters to use, so I guess the ones I got most used to were Ness, Kirby, Fox, Falco, Pikachu, and Link.) I would like to hear your opinions. Thanks!

I still don't fully understand the switch back to marth. His falco was doing so solid. I get not feeling confident at the moment, but it was clearly providing results playing as falco.

Played Peach against PPMD's Marth earlier in the bracket and lost. So he decided to go fox against his marth this set, which did him good.
If you think I'm crazy for cheering for Sweden, I like to see Armada win because I love his play style.
