this honestly was such a good song choice. 7 years later im watching this. its just so fitting. ive started to see combos videos less like hype combos and with hype music and more so like pieces of art. this video really made me feel something. it made me see the potential in what could be. in a small way this has changed my life, i cant unsee what i see now in music and melee content as a creator myself. i strive to make something like this for my very own collective art.
Hylian Link Don't tell me "Kanye West - Black Skinhead" was a good choice because most people said it wasn't. Neither was the music for Borp's combo video.
the song almost put me to sleep (in a good way, super chill and smooth like PPMD's playstyle and combos) but every time i saw a shine off the top my eyes just widened so fucking much ROFLL
been looking through your videos and like them. love the music choices. I have a very similar taste (swans, amco, madvilliany, and so on) glad to have videos I can watch that fits my taste instead of the normal stuff. if you guys dont have the same music taste, no big deal, just dont hate on it, there are plenty of other combo videos if those suite you more.
PP rubs me the wrong way and I don't know why. He's really good and I accept that, he has a creative falco, but I can't stand watching him do well. Please, somebody send help.
MR Jam After going back and watching the m2k combo video I noticed that I've watched it before I just didn't remember it was from you haha. Well I guess my mango suggestion stands and nice music in your combo videos, they fit really well.
Love the song, but I'm not sure if it really works for a hype combo video. Brother Sport might have worked better or maybe Oxygen by Swans, since I see that you have The Seer as your RUclips profile picture. At least it's not another generic, shitty EDM song so props to that. Great video otherwise c:
great montage but the music kills it, my guess is the dude just picked the first 3:50 song in his playlist :/ it doesn't fit at all. i had to mute and miss commentary it was so bad
Diggin the collective in this vid Very refreshing And honestly not sure why you're catching so much flak for the song choice I think it works quite nicely
Two kinda big things for me: 1) You left in the commentator audio - which is fine - but you didn't cut the clips with audio in mind. Basically, it sounded more like you forgot to turn it off than you left it in on purpose because of how you cut off what people were saying mid-syllable. Especially in places like 0:29 and 2:33. For the latter you could have split the track, and muted just the audio for the last syllable they begin to say, or you could have just cut it before the syllable. Yet, you did mute the clips sometimes, which leaves me a bit confused. I guess you just weren't really focused on the exact timing of the cuts relative to sound, only video. Both are important. 2) I really disagree with the the kind of dissonant flowing calm track for a video like this. Even so, I didn't really feel like the song was that matched up with the video. I feel like at the very least, the song didn't help the video very much. It didn't seem like it accented much, it seemed only to serve as a separate source of sensory information to try and keep the viewer interested. And a smaller consideration, I don't know how long you've been working on this video, but almost all the clips are quite old. There are other videos ('Pressure' for instance) that use a great number of these clips. That's not that big a deal, but something to tihnk about.
not really a fan of the song choice it just didn't feel like it meshed well with the footage. That being said at least it was unique ill take this over generic dubstep any day.
I really liked this one. Thank you.
I actually really loved the song. It flows smoothly, like ppmd's combos
Animal Collective seems fittingly suitable for PPMD's personality. Good choice. It has his spirit.
Spenceland word thanks
Very well made.
thanks!

I'm actually really digging the Animal Collective choice. Would never have though to pick it myself, but it felt right with PP's smooth play.
yeah thats what i was going for, thank you!
Adam Compton my thoughts exactly
Cool video and song too :)
thanks dude
I feel like MR Jam is ignoring the people saying that the music doesn't fit
Hylian Link I can only say the exact same thing so many times:)
Hylian Link music is subjective
Shitty trap music won't be any better lmao.
That music was a really good choice
Elie4Elite the music was unfitting. For a good choice in music look at any of GRSmash's combo videos
Hylian Link Don't tell me "Kanye West - Black Skinhead" was a good choice because most people said it wasn't.
Neither was the music for Borp's combo video.
OMG. Someone made a combo video with Animal Collective....YOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. I fux with this.
wow very nice xD seems like this song matches very well actually! XDF

Man when the beak is at its peak it feels like he's this unstoppable monster! Control is defs a good name for this! lol

Oh my god I feel the same way!
Great video, pp is definitely my favorite smasher, I'd recommend m2k next for his spot on combos or mango for the style.
already made an m2k vid, check it out!
MR Jam After going back and watching the m2k combo video I noticed that I've watched it before I just didn't remember it was from you haha. Well I guess my mango suggestion stands and nice music in your combo videos, they fit really well.
1gunthix1 haha yeah, Mango next sounds good actually!
MR Jam thanks for the compliments!
1:48- 1:52
Really nice spacing

yeah thanks for the feedback, the non-generic EDM song is what I was going for friggin hate that, it ruins like pretty much every combo video nowadays
it's like the very basics of making a highlight reel: combos and music. The music doesn't work with this to me though.
great montage but the music kills it, my guess is the dude just picked the first 3:50 song in his playlist :/ it doesn't fit at all. i had to mute and miss commentary it was so bad
swagalina Taste by Animal Collective does not have a 3:50 runtime so we can denounce that theory pretty much right off the bat
Diggin the collective in this vid
Very refreshing

Nicely put together, though I'm not a fan of the song choice.
i love animal collective, but it doesnt fit with smash.
Qui Tran word
Do another PPMD video with more commentary included and less music that doesn't fit at all.

Pc Channel I've already seen them - I like them, but you do have strange taste in combo vid music. Not wrong, but different.
i kept it in when it sounded “hype” and removed the audio when it was of the commentators babbling about random shit - so it wasn’t random.
not really a fan of the song choice it just didn't feel like it meshed well with the footage. That being said at least it was unique ill take this over generic dubstep any day.
Sweet man, only missed a few combos from Smashers Reunion and Pound V, those were insane as well
mute the commentary, the audio sounds really messy and the music feels really tacked on and unnecessary
Matt Deslatte word
such good combos ruined by such awful music
what a bad song
Fuck you
+MR Jam savage
lolol I'm just trolling
sun sorry for being such a troll LOL
It’s good
