I am mesmerized by your videos. I’ve been on a week long binge and I can’t get enough. Thank you for all your heartfelt talks and support getting through the highs and lows of being a “maker”.
I never got into buying patterned papaer and I don't buy ephemera because I'm addicted to making it. I do have a lot of pieces to use though. The bookmark idea is great. That makes me want to think up other little gifts to build into cards. Thanks.
I bought lots and lots of wax and wax seals in 1969 and they are somewhere in my craft room. Now I will be on the hunt for the waxes and seals. We're talking maybe 20+ seals and every colour of wax under the sun!!! Haven't thought of them in years. But they are so vintage looking! Great ideas for cards and journals.
These are so pretty! Love how you can see the dragonfly thru the glassine like it’s hiding behind the flower! I had to order that stamp set! Even your scrap mat is gorgeous! It looks like a huge pink flower! Hope you repurpose your mat papers. That faux stitch technique is pretty slick too! Wow look at you! Almost at 500k subs!! TYFS ❤️🦋💜
Gorgeous card. I love that green tassel too I recently found some 20 (plus) year old ephemera when I was organizing my craft room that looks similar to the Tim Holtz stuff that you used. Think I'll use it up, well, at least some of it anyway.
I have found that layered cards alway sell better and garner more appreciation from non-card makers than a one layered “masterpiece”. I have an appreciation for all of the glorious styles, this has just been my experience so far selling them to the public. Fantastic cards today. Tfs
I havent yet come to "appreciate" mixed media all that much, but when you kept your colors pretty and the placement pleasing then i find it, the harmony, attracted me much more.
This morning the moisture was evaporating off the roof outside my window as steam. At first glance I thought it was smoke and the house was on fire! I was just talking about mystery boxes to a coworker today. I got those pretty floral cardboard boxes at the craft store to tidy up, but it is such a mix of various items in each one that I couldn't label them. I'm going to start opening them and pulling 5 items at a time out to use them up.
Thank you! You have given me ideas to use up some of the pretty but 'no idea how I'm going to use them' items in a way that looks deliberate, rather than a collection of random oddments together. A pretty and interesting card.
This is exactly the kind of inspiration I need, right now. I won't say "hoarder", but I will say I have "a few things" lying around the house that I can art with. lol Thank you for the wonderful vid!! My brother Anj and I both love how much fun you have on your channel.
Yes! This is WHY YOU ARE THE FRUGAL CRAFTER! I've been wanting stitch dies for years but keep delaying...🤣😂🤣all the way to the bank...ok who am I kidding? Ill be spending that $cha ching saved at the craft store on something else ridiculously fun🤭 THANKS Lindsey❣ And oh yeah...BONUS on the bookmark, gift card idea on the FRONT of the card in a cute little bag that I had bought for some reason in stripes, dots, vellum...yea. another cute trend! Had no idea what to do with these. 💁♀️ Lindsey this would make a great series....LINDSEY IS COMING OUT Of THE CRAFT CLOSET! 🤭🙈🙉🙊 I'm on a roll, yea, time to go! TFS❣
Great idea for using up those left over pieces of “matching ephemera” that we all buy for paper packets, not to mention random pretties that we have collected thru the years!
I have a lot of fun making this collage style cards. Even if you keep it more simple! I have some of those beautiful floral elements, but hadn’t thought about usually patterned paper as a background. I foresee some experimenting in my near future!!!
Thank you! I've made handmade cards for every occasion for years but this year I'm struggling for ideas or any sort of creativity whatsoever for Christmas cards. Guess what! You just sparked my Christmas card making mojo! 😘 Love me some Lindsay! ❤
"Ephemera Cards to me is a way to virtually travel the world and the past."-Lynn This is absolutely beautiful Lindsay, with the Vintage stick-ons will go great with this.🌹💐🤗🏆🏆
Awesome card!! I love videos like this that help use up stash products. I have been hoarding for years. Lol. I have been working on it though. I think fear gets in the way most of the time.
No, no, no, I already bought the Washi tape. Don't get me buying ephemera too ;-)....hmm, maybe I could use stiffened cotton fabric as ephemera...! Would be fun to splash down a watercolor abstract background if one doesn't have the antiqued looking maps ::thinking_emoji::.....lovely inspiration -- AGAIN! You never run out of ideas. Thanks much!!
I LOVE your card idea's! You are so helpful in giving unique idea's. I also really enjoy your longer video's. I know not everyone does and you really try to please everyone. Thank you for going back to old school, it was really nice! God Bless
Great idea! Thanks for sharing it with us. I have a ton of vintage hankies and I have been trying to design a card with glassine bags to put the hankies in for gifts. Hopefully I can adapt this for a larger bag. I love the idea of a gift card in the envelope also. Happy crafting!
"I make such a mess when I make a card," was exactly what I thought when I left my craft table this morning - with said mess all over the place! :) These are very pretty cards, and yes, most of us have stuff we could certainly use to get a similar result, I'm sure. My cards today were using the stamps from the July SSS card kit with the long row of houses. I used my Arteza watercolor real brush pens and had a ball making my own little neighborhoods@ :)
I love the cards! So many lovely elements. But what I like even more, is that sheet underneath that you were doing all the coloring and stamping on top of. You've got yourself and art journal page background! Or you could cut out shapes to make more elements.
This was a great video. I have plenty of that stuff to get rid of. I thought I was the only one who made an awful mess when I make a card, and then I need to put it back. Working on my carts after seein yours, they are a mess too!
14:46 Lindsay, don't burn your hands off! (What I learned from "Ask a Crafter" Lovely project. Reminds me of the DIY Vintage Collages for your spring decorating.
Would have given you a lot more thumbs up if I could have. I have several of these items, yippee! Thanks Lindsay. Take care and God bless you and yours. Sincerely Becky B from Arkansas
Love the effects you get🙂 Lindsay you should know that you always end up with a very messy table 😀 Whenever I get into it at the end you can’t see my table nor find anything 😂
This is beautiful! I love everything vintage! I think I have all the items you used except the tassels! 😊 I have the flower die cuts...but mine aren't stickers...I wish they were! Those are so pretty! The layering and distressing makes it look so nice! So inspiring! Thanks so much Lindsay! Just lovely! ❤
Jump right in! This is a great way to start--use what you have and play around with different elements. Use magazines, pretty packaging, or even brown paper bags. If you don't have any stamps, you can make simple shapes from makeup sponges, craft foam, felt or potatoes. Embellish with scraps of ribbon or strips of paper. You can always make a "card front" and attach it to a card base later. Have fun!
Thank you. Interesting video. I got some good ideas and learned how to use a few things as well. Most of my art and card making supplies were given to me, so I wasn't really sure how to use them yet.
What a cool way to use my stash of ephemera. I don't really know why I am so drawn to it....kind of like washi tape. Tip: get a cheap glue gun for your sealing wax. You won't burn your hands off.
That's a very pretty card! I love the bookmark idea! I'm off to get the dragonfly stamp set, if it's not too much. I have been looking for one that size for a very long time and I like that it's a layering stamp too and not too difficult to fussy cut. Thanks, Lindsay!
Ohhh, Lindsay- nowadays, women can be cartographers and architects, too! Blueprints and maps are for women, too. And I’ve even heard rumours that men like flowers!
Happy to watch this!!! I’m a craft teacher for senior housing. I have 27-30 students. They are very interested in making Christmas cards this year because many are afraid to leave the building because of Covid. We have tons of old Christmas card fronts and today I started cutting areas that they can use double sided tape to make cards. Is it possible to do a video on how to recycle old cards to make them look good. We don’t have stamps, punches, but have lots of ribbon, lace, glitter. Just basic stuff. I used to be ale to buy simple card kits from ACMoore, but now that they are no longer in business, I can’t seem to find them anywhere. I’ve never made cards before, other than the ACMoore kits. I can buy pads of paper at Michael’s but I’m clueless on how to put it all together.
Michaels, Joanna, Hobby Lobby all have card & envelope sets -- if that helps you. Also, I just discovered invitation envelopes at Staples -- standard A2 size ( common card size) & Very cost-effective. Hope this helps.
Hi Lindsay! I love the card you made with all your scraps, stamps, and the glassy pocket. Where do you get those pockets??? I don't have any and I've never really heard of them, before. I guess I could wing it by using another type of paper to make a pocket with? Maybe "wax paper"? I would love to try making this type of card! I love your tutorials!!! Stay safe! ~Janet in Canada
Also where do you get Atglen double sided tape in larger quantities? You said on one of your videos that you get paper from paper I’ll.co, i can’t see to find that co.
I am mesmerized by your videos. I’ve been on a week long binge and I can’t get enough. Thank you for all your heartfelt talks and support getting through the highs and lows of being a “maker”.

I love watching the mad scientist come out in your project. What a great card.

Beautiful cards! I love all the layering of the cards. Now I know what to do with my glassine envelopues.

Loved the 'stitching' technique on edge of map paper. Great texture. Thanks for the inspiration.

I've used iron stuff as a backing of material to use on cards it works beautifully
i love the look of the scrap paper you are using to lay all your things on tp keep excess off.

Thank you for the jump start! Love this idea!
Love it! Never used to be into card making, but since this winter is looking like more isolation... why not!
Love this use your stash approach. I'm doing the same only I'm turning them into Fabriano Artistico sketchbooks.
Oh how I've misses these types of videos from you. Your card is a mixed media masterpiece! Love it!!
I love your stash busting cards :) I also love that you remind me to look at what I have ... :)

Love the map 🗺
Wow beautiful cards!

Gin Sanders I noticed that too....it looks like a huge flower (peony). Those “drop-cloth” mats are almost prettier than the project sometimes!
This was a great video. I have plenty of that stuff to get rid of. I thought I was the only one who made an awful mess when I make a card, and then I need to put it back. Working on my carts after seein yours, they are a mess too!
That is so pretty! I love collage projects!
What a cute idea.
You have inspired me to make some of these out of my stash. I'm on a no spend journey and using up what I have until it's all gone. TFS
Good luck! It feels so good to use stuff up!
Great video, I am looking at my supplies in a whole new way. Thank you for some great ideas. 🌻

Very pretty. Thanks
Very pretty!
Really pretty and great ideas for using up some of my stash!
Yes 😎 I am doing exactly that, at the moment. Finding things that's lying around and using it in mixed media canvases or tags ❤️
Would have given you a lot more thumbs up if I could have. I have several of these items, yippee! Thanks Lindsay. Take care and God bless you and yours.

Loved this video! I am using craft card for my Christmas cards this year Thank you appreciated!
Love ephemera cards and journals! Need to make a few!❤️✌️Very pretty!

We like yo see mess ups makes it feel real
So fun Lindsay! I’m definitely gonna try to make some of these, work is just so busy right now, I don’t have much time for fun 😢!
I love your stash cards! They always inspire me to rethink about the supplies I already have.
Lovely card and a great way to use those elements which never seem to get used. Thank you
So beautiful, I would love to start making cards, but I would not know where to begin.

Thank you. Interesting video. I got some good ideas and learned how to use a few things as well. Most of my art and card making supplies were given to me, so I wasn't really sure how to use them yet.
This just blows my mind. To complicated for me. I can't even coordinate drapes and a bedspread.🤣💜
“Sometimes when you are crafting it will lead you down another path” lol it called a freakin! Rabbit 🐇 trail!
It looks so easy when you do your compositions and it always come out so beautiful!
Love this! Why am I just now finding you!
I loved your card, it looks very beautiful. Thanks for all these great ideas.

Yep this was fun makes me want to get things out and make a mess and something pretty! :)
.....I don't have a stash yet.... I really like yours :)
Great inspirational title. :)

I'll think on this. In the meantime I have lots of cheap and easy christmas card tutorials.
I’ll check them out at work tomorrow!!!! Thanks Lindsay!

How the hell did I miss this? Agh🙄I struggling with having so much stuff and I just can’t throw it away. I need source to share with. One way! Lol

They are glassine bags. I linked to a listing if you want to see them.
Mb if you just tacked the sticker on the card the recipient could use the sticker and book mark as separate little gifts!?!
Also where do you get Atglen double sided tape in larger quantities? You said on one of your videos that you get paper from paper I’ll.co, i can’t see to find that co.
