G2s are amazing drumheads, they fit perfectly on every shell

Now that is how you do a drumhead comparison video. Exceptional stuff and thank you so much for the time and effort to make this. I know full well how much time and effort went into this. So massive thank you, not just from me but I’m sure from ALL of the drumming community

Great comparison video! I’ve been using Evans Onyx with Evans EC ‘s as resos’, however I have been considering trying the UV2’s just to add a touch of brightness. Again, thanks for all your hard work, and a tasty tom groove. Cheers.

Been playing the G2 coated and love them on my DW kit but those frosted sound really nice too.
    Great video
    Thanks

I use the UV2 for my snare drums. I might use these on my toms as well. So this is very versatile drumhead for any genre of music, but it’s very useful for genres like metal, rock and punk. I also use the Heavyweight Dry for my maple snare drum, which is also a two ply head with the same UV cured coating

Great video. Some people talk way too much in their videos. Thanks!

I'll give it to Onyx for coolness.

Really helpful comparison demo. What is the Remo equivalent to the onyx? It sounds like a pinstripe.
I would have liked it if you could have edited the video so you could hear the 10" Tom going from one head to the next, then doing the same thing with the 12" and the floor Tom. I know this was really time consuming Thanks for doing it.

I liked the G2’s the best. Coated and uncoated.

Great review, no explanations, hey this is a 2 ply head and let`s hear first just the tom and then with the snare bla bla.....5 minutes later plays the tom. Simply the best.

I use G2s on my Toms. However, I can't get to this level of Unmodified tunings? Nice Doooo, Doooo sounds w/o anything added. And I don't hear any Snare Buzz whatsoever. How did you do that? I have PDP Concept maple kit. I 've tried EC2s clear - they sound too Plasticky to my ear. Love the sound yiub are getting out of the Snare . What Better head are using? THX for this No Nonsence Video of Drum Sounds with the different Evans products.

Do I detect that you are using coated reso Heads on the Toms?

Yes, these are Evans Reso 7 Coated. Thanks. The Snare has a G1 Batter.

That’s interesting. I could hear a very stark difference. Guess it’s just my ear knowing what to listen for and the nuances

I think with more muffled 2 ply heads they do tend to sound more alike and you lose the unique tone of whatever wood or metal the drum is made of.
FYI, there is a RUclips channel, timpano percussion, based out of Montreal. Like this channel they do great skin comparisons. They have one that compares 73 bass drum heads. And another that compares snare drum heads.

Yeah, and I was saying to myself that if no one else had the guts to come out and say it, then I must be the tone deaf moron and I'm keeping quiet. lol But I will admit my sound is down lower because someone is sleeping in the next room, so maybe that's part. I also think you would hear better in the room or behind the set. The fact that they do sound so close shows he has tuning them, down pat.
