None of the videos can do justice to the sound of this bike, One has to ride or feel it in person. I have been riding since 24 years now. Started with Pulsar then FZ (2008). I always dreamed of having a cruiser. This for me is mixture of roadster and cruiser (elitists here can correct me here if i am wrong). The sound is amazing when you are actually riding it. My FZ 2008's weight is 135 Kgs and this one is 195kgs. When I rode the bike today, it was so perfectly balanced one could not even feel any the weight its pure balance and fine piece of automobile. I am absolutely in love with this one. Those who say that exhaust does not look cool, HD knows it they could either choose look vs sound and they went for the sound and I love it.
I think we Indians love torquey thumpers more than sports bikes so in this way Harley has an edge over Triumph in respect to feel of riding. The Speed 400 might seem a little similar to the KTMs.
Speed 400 is not like ktm. You can cruise on speed at 80-90 easily, it doesn't ask to push like Duke or adventure. It's engine is brand new more towards comfortable cruising . It's more competitive towards price, Harley top spec is costly then speed 400. That is where issue is and also the build quality, fit and finish on Harley doesn't justify the price
I own a X440 now with 1.5k km riden. This was one of the video which made me to take a testride and chose and i am really Happy. There are people who simply spread negativity about this bike wothout even riding it. Really disappointed with that.. But this gem will slowly take the show.

Triumph has already reached over 10k bookings. I don't think Harley is even near that figure.
I don't think so. If service part is not resolved by triumph. It will not matter tgat triumph will get higher numbers ahead. If u do booking of harleys. I already see heroes select showrooms taking booking amount for delivery. Bajaj will open stores. But number will be less. Just look at honda. They had petfect bike to tske on RE but people don't buy it due to service centers and deslership distance from their home.

Wow.....good review. Now i hope ur view of brands diluting its value has taken a u-turn in some of the aspects of the journey in owning a bike 😂. Jusst kidding......no offense meant. What I now see is a win-win situation for both sides. Will be interesting to see what competitors like RE, Honda, TVS, Bajaj & KTM bring to the floor in terms of repositioning their existing products or introduction of competitive priced products. Any idea will Harley/Hero introduce bikes in the Adv/Cruiser category with the same long stroke engine.....Hero is missing in the 250-450cc bracket.
I will go for this bike over triumoh 400. I like the torque nayure of the bike and it sound beautiful. I will orefer base variant which looks more retro.

More or less yess… we rarely have long stretches of empty roads… for quick overtakes getting the torque right is more important… plus high speeds are never sustainable so for long distances you need something that can cruise around easily at lower rpm’s but can pull quickly if required… so again torque comes in play… power comes in handy when you need quick bursts of power and you want to achieve higher speeds.. like increase the top speed
You can kind of hear the bikes exhaust trying to emulate the turbine sound the twins make. Glad hero put some love and effort into the exhaust note. Can't wait to hear it in person.

And engineering a sound requires that designs be ugly… take any theatre for example… bring on all the lights and you will see even theatres are not aesthetic but between aesthetics and sound sound takes precedence… for a Harley I think deciding sound over aesthetics is the best decision

The speed is nowhere like ktm , try riding a 390 in 6th gear at 40, I have a 390 and it's not for traffic

I really hope they improve the quality and wire management before they start deliveries. It seems like the only thing holding this bike back.

HD wiring harnesses, on their sub-1000cc bikes, always wrap round one side of the fork. Hasn't changed since the first Street 750 of 2014.

Let me tell you no tft is clear in sun , only tft that works somewhat okay in bright sun is on BMW GS , that too because of the angle .
