I've never been more excited for an expansion pack! And, the best gift the Sims team can give us would be to allow the color wheel shown for CAS customization to also be a feature for build/buy... just like it was in Sims 3.
I have a lot of packs. My daughter only has base game and cats and dogs and I feel like this might still add a lot to her game. Seems like maybe she could do the daycare she's always wanted? Or at least a babysitting business?
I wonder if you can now make a bed and breakfast like business, that would be so cool.
I am SO hyped for this pack, and I can't wait to see the builds you do with this one

Ive been trying to plan out and build my own savefile and have tried to have my at home business by using the yardsale function but it can be very aggravated to get to work the way i want. So i am really excited to get this feature and the possibilities with crosspack compatibility. Although, i do hope there are more hobbies in there than that. I love the at home business aspect but not all hobbies need to makes you money and the game needs more activities. Im hoping we will see more in the game play trailer.

I am cautiously optimistic about this pack. I am interested in the idea for sure. I think the name is definitely weird and a bit misleading since the focus really is making official businesses from your hobbies. Definitely disappointed by the lack of hobbies in the pack. We can hope maybe there’s more they haven’t shown us but the way they’ve talked about the pack so far it seems unlikely. Hopefully with the mentoring and giving lectures or classes and the mention of mastery perks they are just giving a bit of a revamp to all skills and hobbies already in the game. I guess we’ll have to wait and see though. I also would have been totally fine if they didn’t give us a world and invested more into the hobbies and gameplay. These businesses can be done anywhere we dont need to add a new world just cause it’s an expansion.
Currently I have like two big things I’m wondering about. It seems like they way they’ve showed things and talked about them that these small businesses are run either on their own lot type or from your residential lot. I wish that they would have taken the for rent idea of choosing rooms to be a part of different units and then each unit we can choose if it would be residential or some type of public space or business. I personally want to be able to have more than one shop on a lot. Like it shows in the trailer you can make it seem like you have two distinct shops next to each other like having a tattoo shop next to a pottery shop but those two were still functioned as just one shop and were owned by one family. I want to have like two families who each own their own shop next to each other on the same lot. Similarly I wish that even if we could only have one shop per lot that we could have multiple residences on the same lot in addition to the shop. Like having one shop on the ground floor but several apartments in the floors above. But it very much seems like it’s a one shop and one residence per lot type of thing which is a bit disappointing. Maybe we can hope that we can run these shops on residential rental lots if we have for rent but I feel like that’s highly unlikely.
My other question is just how do these systems work if you want to be a customer? I and I know a lot of other simmers like to set up save files or create multiple families that we can interact with. If I take the time to play a family and set up a small business can I then decide to play with a different family and have them visit that small business and the business work properly. Also can I have my sims be the ones to attend classes and lectures. I just want to know that all of these systems and cool features work on their own and can be interacted with when you are not running them. I don’t just want to be able to run the businesses or teach the lectures or classes I want to be able to visit the businesses or attend the classes and lectures.
I am also wondering if you are able to see where these businesses are and what they are from map view at all. I hope that it doesn’t just show oh this is a residence and a family is living here and then you have no way from map view to tell there is also a business on that lot. The brief look at the map view in the trailer you can’t see any kind of community lots of designations for small businesses. Maybe that’s just cause they were moving I hope.
And I’m definitely curious as to how this will interact with GTW or if they’re just gonna pretend like we didn’t get a similar system with retail in GTW.
The maps looks like Scandinavian/northern-Germany/Dutch inspired. The rest of the pack.. I don't know.. I see a lot of mechanics that could be broken/buggy..
What you’re really paying for is the ability to have a business on a residential lot, and it turns out all you needed was the exact same system as For Rent…but with different words. Yay!
There are 2 neighborhoods of 6 lots each = 12 lots
Whoever buys this I think has lost their mind. Its just get to work but refreshed, and EA wants us to pay for that? Crazyyyy

Dear EA, what happened again? The last expansion was really good, so why is this one a copy of an expansion from 2015? Is this some kind of April Fools' joke? Don't you remember that running stores was already in the first expansion? We, the fans, aren't blind. We see what you're doing, and unfortunately, at the moment, it looks like you want to push content that could have been part of the first expansion. Even tattooing should have been in Get to Work, since you were supposed to be doing refreshes... (Still, I quietly hope that you'll update The Sims 4: Get to Work or give this new expansion for free to those who already own Get to Work.) EA, what happened? We wanted a music-themed expansion... singers and bands. PS. I have a feeling that this EP is being made by a different team of creators than "Life and Death"...
