I would rather have the original perfumes that I purchase because the dupe of perfume formula's to me is not the same as the original scent. The molecule structure, complexity would be different , and not as rich, or long lasting in my opinion. Appreciate the info and time you took to let your viewers know this information.

For sure! I don’t think I have seen any content creator going all out for counterfeits but I also understand where these designers and niche houses are coming from.

Yes! Many of the fragrances we love are *inspired by,* but they are not counterfeit. I do believe that many people believe that even "inspired by" is bad and they want to shut it down. I also think that some of our beloved fragrance houses go overboard when they use the exact colours or even the shape of the bottles, that makes them a target of hatred. This is my opinion.
You are so right. Theres a big difference between counterfeit and dupes. . A friend of my daughter wanted to give me a birthday present. My daughter told her i liked the perfume tresor. She ordered online and as soon as i opened it i knew it was counterfeit. I told her. They had to return the money. I rather have a less expensive perfume or inspire on tresor than a fake one. Thats stealing. Dupes or clones are just imitations but they dont claim to be original. And they are never exactly the same.
That’s so messed up! These are some of the reasons people refuse to buy from platforms like eBay and Amazon. There are genuine sellers but equally scammers 😉

Hi Adwoa if there is anything I have learned is that you do not need to spend a lot of money to smell good. I was one to easily spend +$150 USD on a single fragrance. My rant is that most new fragrance releases don’t perform as I would like them. The performance is one of a cologne and not of an edt or edp. So if anything Middle Eastern fragrances have outdone the Western fragrances. And therefore since on the topic of clones and dupes there’s plenty of those in fashion such as clothing, shoes, jewelry and handbags
You certainly do not have to over spend to smell great. Thank goodness for these duped! I think the duped houses just need to be a little more circumspect and respectful in their designs. ❤
My thing is this; WHO IS DUPING WHO? There is this notion ESPECIALLY HERE IN THE USA that Western fragrance houses are the originators of their fragrances when in reality they have done some copying. Not saying all but quite a few. Lattafa, Swiss Arabian, Paris Corner etc have been creating fragrances FOR YEARS. At any rate, perfume dupes are perfectly legal and not the same as counterfeit!
It is definitely the chicken before the or egg before chicken situation. The western houses seems to be claiming the originator title 🤔😀😊

Thank God l am a fragrance hoarder, at the rate things are going the big designer houses and expensive niche houses are going to lobby for the ban of legally trading and importation of Middle Eastern clones.
Its a very sad move, for some of us who can't afford the exorbitant niche and designer fragrances.
I hope not. I don’t think it can go as far. Middle eastern houses are also legitimate. They just need to be mindful of the over copying I guess 👍❤️
If RUclips takes down ME dupe videos then they might as well take down some of the western ones as well since they also dupe each other

Hii Adwoa best to start using the word “inspired by”. The designer and niche houses are going to use the law against the mid eastern houses because they are taking over the market. Remain safe.

Yes, more respect for original brands. We will still buy the middle eastern irrespective of the over the too and sometimes, outrageous bottles they offer 😂
100% agree with you regarding "counterfeits" and "clones." Furthermore, it shouldn't be on the content creator to have to police their language regarding dupes. There's a reason there's a market for it. Apologies that this is affecting you and you channel.
Yeah it’s an unfortunate situation and we are caught in the middle but we will work around it. Hopefully, everything settles amicably
I think that the most important thing about fragrances is that you love what you wear. I'm not concerned about a fragrance if it is a dupe or a og. I read the notes. If the notes are my notes that fragrance could be mine. I must love the fragrance and for me that's enough. I appreciate when you tell "if you love atomic rose, you could love Infini rose" for me is this the reason why I buy this or that perfume. I hope I well explained my pov❤
I agree! Notes and scent profile over whether it's a dupe or not. And most especially, budget for most others. If I truly love a designer or niche fragrance, why not. Love them all ❤️
They cannot sue anyone if it's about an inspired product, even if the package is similar. - if it's not a copy they cannot do anything.
Artists use other artists' songs to make their own, why couldn't perfumes brands do the same? What puts the perfumerie world above the arts? - absolutely nothing.

The dupe clone market is here to stay. We just have to wait for the courts to tell us how to promote them without infringing on the rights of the original creators......Maybe we can be mentioning them without showing their bottles like you suggested.

Duping has been around since the dawn of fashion.
Most people “should” know the difference between a dupe and a counterfeit.
A dupe is inspired by, similar too, a “twist on”, an interpretation of or affordable alternative.

I wonder if it's just the copying of the bottle because we have U.S. clone houses that are popular like Zara, dossier, be layered, oakcha, Julianna's perfume, Alexandria's fragrance, & ALT. Some of which I see adverts for on RUclips.

I guess it because the middle eastern houses are a little too upfront with their designs and it can be irritating and frustrating for the original creators. The western dupe houses have always played it safe

I see the Orientica Luxury line as an Inspired by. There are many differences in the fragrances in that line that make them different from the OGs. The fragrance community have been inspiring each other in every frag house both East and West. I'm not a counterfeit or duplicate fan. When taken to the degree of copying packaging with OG name, brand, bottle, poor juice, and selling as the OG brand at OG prices IN A DELIBERATE ATTEMPT TO FOOL THE CONSUMER, that's counterfeit fraud. Dupes put their brand name on the product, copy frag name in some way, copy fragrances, bottle, packaging, and juice. Clones seem to copy juice and use their own brand name, packaging, and fragrance name. Then there is inspired by. I personally like inspired by fragrances that allows creative freedom, gives the consumer what they like or want, affordability, but there is a difference. As for shutting up folks, and slapping the consumer around, that's wrong! The industry needs to take responsibility to straighten itself out and not dump that on us.
Middle eastern houses and western houses are a chicken and egg case. Who created first and who is duping. Unfortunately, middle eastern houses accepted the label of clone houses while some western houses push their brands as the superior so it’s difficult to say who did what first 😉😉
Let's be honest. The more the clone bottles and names look and sound like the original, the easier it is to identify the scent profile or dna, especially for uncommon fragrances. Also, these alleged highend houses clone each other and traditional middle Eastern dnas.
And that is where the designer houses have their issues. I can understand how frustrating it can be for one’s creation to be copied to the T. A little twist here and there should work other than that, the middle eastern houses should just give us their sometimes outrageous bottles like that 😂

Hope it will not affect the previous videos, it’s a pity that this war affects you, the ones that try to offer a better understanding for us, upon a certain fragrance. I get that the known brands are mad, maybe they could revisit they prices..also the ones that give us cheaper alternatives should be more careful about the naming or packaging similarities. But it seems that in this case, the collateral victims turned out to be you, the content creators,sadly😔👎wishing you all the best ❤

I also love dupes but some people don't mind spending their coins on the original but find that they have a problem with their performances. E.g TF and J Malone are also famous for poor performances so opt for dupes and sometimes dupes perform better than the original
If you have the funds for expensive but original, why not. I know some people will never touch a dupe in their lifetime which is fantastic! Budget friendly dupes, count me in 😂😂

Hello Adwoa. Really interesting point of view.... I think it is beyond reach them trying to stop this kind of content cuz the Arabic market has expanded beyond bounds so far. Try editing and bleeping out undesired words like dupe or clones just write it on screen, I think its best. Good luck Miss.

To be honest I can see exactly why LVMH are targeting videos that include bottles that look exactly like their bottles with similar names, ie Fragrance World with their MFK bottles.

Hi Adwoa thanks for the video, I personally don't mind this middle eastern fragrances though I do from time to time buy designer fragrances. I however prefer middle eastern because of prices and sometime they are even better than western ones, I have managed to build a nice collection with middle eastern fragrances and I'm always spoiled for choice.

I don't think you have to refilm any of the videos you mentioned. Consider muting yourself when you say dupe and put the words "inspiration of..." on the screen. Or record a separate intro explaining why you muted some parts. RUclips won't be able to take it down.

I have understood that it is safe to talk about them as "sharing the same DNA with..." or "inspired by" and so on. I am unsure about what to do about the bottles if the design is copied. I really dislike it when they copy the original design. But what to do about it? Should you and other RUclipsrs blur the bottles in their future videos or what🙂
I think it will be safer to just mention the name of the fragrance without showing the copied bottle. If the bottle is far from the original then that’s fine .

I always feel better when I tell friends 'inspired' by a certain perfume but I really hope that you don't have to redo videos but perhaps just change the titles of videos.
After all these perfumes are sold and you are reviewing them, no counterfeit or illegal thing happening.
I agree that some ME perfumes were too close in name and bottle as well as packaging but they are not counterfeit. I also like it better if they do not look too alike but as one person commented the advantage of this was that you have an idea of what it would smell like 😂.

Hi Adwoa, you know you don't have to refilm entire video. There is another option to go to the editing portion of YT and cut the clip using the word you said. Unless you are referring to showing the bottles as well. Then maybe do individual videos for those fragrances you had to cut from the original video. Just a suggestion.
I think it's how some of the videos were filmed and the showcasing of the bottles. It looks like it will be easier redoing some of them from how I see it. Will try and edit some out and see if the videos will still make sense after the editing.
