  • In my house we make a lot of coffee. We also have very hard water. So last week I started a brewing cycle and return to pour myself a cup, only to find a descaling light flashing. (Luckily, it still brews the full pot!) AND shamed to say, I actually continued on using it for a full week before I got to make this video 😑 and happy to report now after descaling my machine my coffee taste better than ever. I hope you find this video useful, friends.

Thanks for doing this video, recently moved and misplaced manual. Distilled water in brewer helps with no scale build up. Still use cleaning vinegar in descale cycle to clean. Love this brewer use it all day everyday.

Descale solution is very powerful, it is indeed a good idea to rinse the machine twice. Good job!

Absolutely, it’s very important. Even if you use vinegar instead of the descaling solution, because it has a very strong scent that the only way to get rid of it is to rinse out the machine good.

food grade citric acid is cheaper and does a great job, use 2 table spoons per quart/liter, can be mixed and stored in a container and used full strength. Most after market Descalers use citric acid as a main ingredient.

Hi Rose, very helpful video, thank you! If you don't have the descale solution how much vinegar would you use in the water reservoir?

Hello Rick, I use to do 50% vinegar, 50% water. Works great.
