    Thanks for taking us with you, I've never been to a fish show, but these tips that you've given, help me appreciate my own fish more. Thanks Scott! ☺️

    Thanks to Alan and you for your service to the fish community !
    In the same way COViD has limited participation. It has limited those who create opportunities for the community. Both of you are to be commended.
    Thanks for the video !
    Jim

    Hello Scott and Ken. Scott, I know you had mentioned size being an issue for some of the entries. You had even used the Clown Loach as an example. I'm not sure if you are aware but the Clown Loach can take many years to get to full size, IMO 10+ years. Is this information taken into consideration when judging the fish against a species that will become mature quicker?

    In a previous video you said don't even bother entering a fish if it's not full size. Those angels are still juvies

    Do you feel that bringing a fish to a show can put additional stress on that fish that may be otherwise unnecessary and possibly lead to illness or death? This is a concern I would have about brining one of my favorite fishes to a show, especially an adult specimen that may not travel as well as juveniles.

    Being new to fish shows thought I would see what they were before entering my beauty, Rio San Pedro Beani. See ya at next year's clash. Any tips?

    Why would you downgrade the score on a fish for its size? Do all fish have to be adults to enter a competition like this? I apologize if this was something you've already addressed, I was just curious to know why.

    You took half the points away from the clown loach just because it wasn't fully grown? So you have to submit adult fish only?
    But on the other hand the bichir didn't lose points for the same reason?

      IHSP did you enter fish and if so was this your first show?

    • @ihspstanktribe
      @ihspstanktribe 2 года назад

      @@ScottMclaughlinJ No, I didn't even go. I was just confused. Some of the judging standards seem a little arbitrary, from what little I've been able to glean from this, and other videos.

      @Lunatic Fringe Thanks! I had no idea. That would suck to have to grow a loach for 5-10 years before you could enter it into a show.
      But also, what's adult referencing ? Sexual maturity? Full grown size? A certain age past sexual maturity?

      Plz see last week video it discusses how fish are judged. Yes judges are looking for adult sized fish so if I brought a Jaguar Cichlid it should be 18 to 20 inches long. Feel free to ask me any questions
