I won't be buying any more for a while🙄........I was very dis-organised but having everything in reach but also out of the way has made model building and filming so much easier👍
This is great dude. Thanks for sharing with us. You have given me so much inspiration for how to make my models better, so I appreciate you sharing your workspace with us.
Wow, I feel very fortunate I have an entire room for my modelling space. But I'm still a rookie at it! Well organized and using the most of what you got. 👍
A nice work space, very well organized and equipped. Plus a number of kits that would look good on some smaller dealers. Very nice, Ian. Greetings and a nice weekend. Joachim
Excellent Ian, impressive number of gear & products😯 Makes my little corner of the room look humble….. Crazy number of kits in your stash, so many kits, so many projects…..🤭🤯 Loving all the lighting & camera set up too - very smart😎👌
Thanks Simon.......I've been collecting for retirement for a few years and I worked out I've got 10 years worth of dioramas now so I'll hopefully be able to work my way through them slowly 👍
Awesome kit stash. Can wait to show my wife. Not sure why but I think it will help. Haha Great set up though. Definitely looks like a happy place. Look forward to see more work. Cheers
Always suspected that you'd have a neat and organised hobby space....good to show others how it can be done. Great stash, makes mine look very, very small 😜😜
Thanks......I don't think I have but its 2 Panasonic HC-VX870 4K camcorders and the lights are Neewer NL660 LED panels.....the cameras are mounted to swing arm microphone stands and the lights are on boom arms fixed to the sides of my desk and the camera monitors are from 5" Feelworld 👍
@CWModelling Thanks for the reply... Did an Amazon search, there looks like there are different lights under the same model number. Am I missing something? Cheers
Hello again. Like everybody else, also impressed. However, I am interested in your lighting and camera set-up. Haven't seen those type of lights before, I'm also assuming that they are all linked up to your MAC? I'd be very grateful if you could give me a basic idea of your set up please.
Thanks......The lights are Neewer NL660 40W LED panels on boom arms....The cameras are Panasonic camcorders fixed to angle-poise microphone stands via small ball-heads, and both are HDMI cabled to 5inch video monitors on top of my shelves so I can see what I'm filming just by looking up and both record to in-camera SD cards......I just download the cards to the mac when I've finished for the day👍
I think all you need to start are a hobby knife, some side cutters, a file or nail file and some glue for building and then paints and brushes.....lots of people enjoy building models with just the basics👍
Hi... Can you give me some details on lights, cameras, and arms that you use for the cameras and lights... Details about your filming gear... 😁 Nice work...
Hi....The lights are Neweer NL660 LED panels on boom arms which are fixed to the side of the desk with plumbing pipe brackets so they can swivel....the desk cameras are Panasonic Camcorders, one HD and the other 4K and both are HDMI wired to Feelworld MA6P 5inch video monitors above the desk.....the cameras are mounted on cheap ball heads on angle poise microphone stands that come with desk clamps......The video was shot using a Nikon D5200 with a Tokina 11-16mm f2.8 lens which I must use more often.......Hope that helps👍
GREAT MODELING ROOM!!! Nicely organized and your camera and lighting are really well thought out. I use a Lilliput Field Monitor for shooting, Do you mind sharing which ones you use? The Lilliput is 7 " but for the model desk I probably only need the 5" ones Ive seen. I have been working on my area, but I don't have things dedicated like you. I just love how its all ready to go when you sit down to build.....that's where I am hopping to end up eventually!!! Take Care, Bill
Outstanding, thanks very much for a look behind the scenes Ian . Hey you know what they say about the state of mind of a person who has a tidy desk don't you ? lol. Never mind me I'm just jealous. You have a bit of $ invested in all that gear and kit. Do you do this professionally ?
You should have seen it before, lol........I'm just a weekend modeller but my RUclips channel has allowed me to buy a few things I otherwise wouldn't have been able to afford 👍
Boss that wall has more kits than most model shops!!! But do have a question...how many times have you knocked your head against one of those lights or cameras!!!? Looks great!
WOW..... I take it you're into modeling ? LOL ! That is so impressive Sir, as well as your videos. Glad I found this. Fascinating watching you create your works of Art ! One quick question. I see you and others use cheap hair spray on certain items in your diorama's. Can it be used for covering acrylic paints on anything ?
Thanks👍........Using hairspray depends on the situation, I use hairspray on dioramas as a fixative as sometimes it's quicker and easier than using glue but hairspray is water soluble so it has its limitations. For paint 'chipping' techniques its ideal as you can exploit that solubility but it will need sealing in with a clear varnish if you want to apply further paint layers and don't want to reactivate the hairspray👍
Holy crap, Ian. That's not a "hobby room", that's every hobby modeler's wet dream!!! Very nice, thank you for showing us. Although it makes me kinda envious... BTW, where do you keep all the finished dios and how do you display them (under glas, with spot lights, etc,)?
Like the bit were tea cup and biscuits were shown great room 👍
Lol....its been improved a bit now - ruclips.net/video/kke_yXzfAc4/видео.html 👍
Now we need a tour of the Room where the finished stuff is placed :)
That’s a TON of kits! Lots of future projects, that I can’t wait for.
You are very organized!

I wold advise against showing the wife and saying 'look he's got loads, why can't I'.......it might be why my ex is my ex😉 lol
Haha. Very true.
Let's roll the dice and see how it goes ;) lol

Love your work! Quick question, what do you do with all your dioramas once they are completed?
