Ah 2010.. The best season in recent history in my opinion. Fantastic racing and moves (check the season review if you don't believe me), probably 7 or 8 drivers that had a chance to win on their day if it went right and the last year of no gimmicks. Bridgestone tyres, no DRS and no KERS. I miss it..
That pit stop literally sums up why Hamilton left McLaren for Mercedes. 2010 was bad, 2012 was horrific - without even factoring in the atrocious strategic errors and reliability problems.
Oh come on it wasn't that bad. Lewis had chances. But some drivers did a better job than he did. Vettel suffered reliablity issues and strategic mock-ups as well however he still managed to come out on top with less engine power and no F-duct.
When legends were made.. and existing legends became ever greater.. 2010.. Year of Talent.. Year Of Champions. Year of Awesomeness around every corner.
Ending a championship with 4 drivers within 16 points. Literally any of those could have been champion in last race. And Button was a contender, despite not reaching the end of the season in a position for it. Awesome stuff... Remembering those times where there was no team orders at RedBull... Watching Button disputing with Hamilton, Seb and Webber... Only Alonso was with number 1 on him. Also, a lot of talent in the grid at those days. How many of those would have a chance if at the wheel of a wining, reliable car. Anyway, 6 (already or to be) champions. Speaking on reliability, It was really different back in those days... Great year for F1

He competed with Hamilton in cars, which did not suit him, but still pulled though, and won a lot of races. Yep, Hamilton + Button was a solid choice from Mclaren. Vettel was good, but too young, not consistant enough. Same goes for Webber, beaten by Alonso while Ferrari was only 3rd at the constructors championship standings. Red Bull should have won by a large margin that year. Vettel had a great car. ;) Vettel is a good driver doe, having the best doesn't mean you are lazy/lucky/bad. You have the best overall. Not for every GP, but for most of them.
Vettel corners at better speed because of his knowledge and practice on aerodynamics that changes when the hot exhaust air causes more downforce at the rear. He pushes it when others are braking. More downforce ...better grip...more speed. That's why Vettel is always good in corners while being very safe and being respectful to other drivers. He goes to the limit, never beyond it. In short, he's a masterclass.
