Who else is here because the coronavirus stopped them from visiting Alaska?
me. I was supposed to go on a cruise this summer that would visit Canada and Alaska. I'm kind of sad I couldn't go. I hope to do it in the future.
I just got Anchorage in world of warships. I don’t know why but I just feel like to know more about this city, so I’m searching random videos on youtube now.
Big fan of those USN heavy cruisers.
@John Laws I live here to
nobody, Alaska is lame
De costa=Scot land
Vasco =amercia usa las vegas
Logically I knew that Anchorage would just be a normal American city full of normal people with normal lives but I had to actually see it before I could accept it.
We are not normal, we are something else.
I live in ancrouge ak
But they have a winter solstice & 200k moose.
Since globalization a lot of modern towns throughout the world look pretty much the same .This town could even be in Europe
@@jojototo4566 europe does not look like this
I still can't believe this is the northernmost big city in the USA, the downtown gives me Cali downtown vibes
I used to live in Ketchikan, and it is funny when people assume Alaska is a cold isolated place. I know Anchorage and Ketchikan arent the same but this video is great just to show people that it isnt just a cold isolated place. Alaska is a very beautiful state with good people and I cant wait to come back and visit or move back someday
Yeah to people like me who have never been there it is really weird to think that there’s a big city in AK hahah
I live here, I love people’s reactions viewing any were in Alaska, epsically anchorage
Yeah even when they think that everyone is nice I dont live in anchrouge but I go there a lot and my dad always tell me stroys of his childhood and I habe lived in alaska my howl life and at anchrouge a lot
I live in Homer and I like Anchorage better because Homer is too small. Lots to do in Anchorage.
watching this in 2020 to remember what my city is like in the summer
Me too
I live in Cali but I kinda bored of it so I would want to move somewhere with a nice view
So sad
are you solaria
My husbands best friend moved to anchorage. We’ve been talking about moving there from Washington state when and if covid is better or gone hopefully
“Historical history”
LOL
English is my third language, so I was searching for this comment 'cause it doesn't make any sense at all.
Right. I was annoyed the first minutes of watching them.
I gagged when he said “historic history”. Like, y’all that was hilariously hilarious 🤣🤣🤣🤣
It's ghetto speak.
When she said reindeer dog, i thought she's going to get the actual dogs to pull them on a sleigh.
nah just hotdogs made outta reindeeer
Ha! Same lol
Jeanny Daniel are you from Bethel,Alaska???
Hahahaha, no beefs brother, they taste pretty much just like a beef dog from someone who does NOT eat the pork.
Me too lol
I’ve lived in anchorage almost my whole life, I love it especially in the fall, it beautiful
You need to get out of this hell hole more, it really isn't that great of a place to live .
Better than fairbanks. Also from California, nothing is a hell hole.
I live in Homer, it's way too small, seriously thinking of moving to Anchorage.
@@pjgumby as a denver resident, please define hell hole. i love anchorage and it's one of the nicest cities i've ever been to.
@@jonathanielpringlemaniii You have no idea the radical change that Anchorage went through during the pipeline days. Rent doubled, more crime, strange people coming up here with their addictions and their perversions and their brats and then bred more brats to commit more crimes. Compared to how wonderful it was, yeah, it's a shit hole now. I remembered most of us prayed for the most hellish Winter on Earth so everyone would go home, but it was not to be. Nope they stayed, pushed out poorer people into the street because of the housing shortage, bred brats, brought drugs, and now we are Las Anchorage. My point of view should be more respected, I knew how Anchorage really was growing up in it, and now the big slide into the slime of today. God, I hate it here, but as the saying goes, the devil you know is way better than the one you don't. Trust me, this is a hell hole.
Anchorage is my hometown. I now live in Florida and it sucks. I miss Alaska. I miss the moose and snow and even the sunless winter days.
Born here, spent about 9 years of my life here. Now I live in the Midwest, in Missouri. However, I go to school in Western North Carolina where the mountains are beautiful and the air still gets crisp and cool. Not the same for sure. I miss anchorage.
Even though it’s not as good as Alaska, it’s still better than Florida. ^^;
Malachi Shekelshoah Lampshadestein I hope you’ll be able to find a good place.
Jessica, in the winter, does the sun really stay down for 30 days? A horror film called "30 days of night" was made and takes place in a town in Alaska (but it was filmed in New Zealand!). A group of vampires find out about the sun's absence and feast on the town. I find it hilarious that some of the "Alaskans" are played by a few who are Australian...
I can say it sucks here now than where you're at. Stay, Alaska isn't Alaska anymore. We've been over run by the lawless, and now we have to sleep with guns.
I'm 16 and its beautiful in the summer and I was born here and i love my home town
Thank you Fox
As much as Alaska can get cold in the winter, it’s always amazingly beautiful in the summer :) As a person that lives in Anchorage, I fully think that Alaska is suggested. My favourite place around that area though is definitely the performing arts place
What's should I know if I was moving from california
As someone who was born in Anchorage and currently lives an hour away from Anchorage in Palmer, this makes me so goddamn happy. 😍😍😍😍😁
Awesome to hear
@@NuttyNu Thanks man
Hour away. Bro you must drive 45 mph.
@@Sackmatters yeah
I went two years to West Anchorage HS, graduated in 1972. Lived in Anchorage for 8 years. It has changed! We avoided 4th Avenue as it was where the drug deals went down, seedy strip joints and bars, and women worked the oldest profession up and down 4th. It looks beautiful now and how the city has grown. Enjoyed your video. Thanks.
Takes note of where the strippers and drug dealers are 📝 sounded like a good time that you knew all that info 🧐 but not judging not judging….
Sounds like it has already changed into another garbage U.S. city to me.
It’s always nice seeing people get excited about your city!
I want to visit Anchorage Alaska someday soon. My friend went on a fishing trip up there summer 2020 and had amazing pictures and videos.
Please do!

I would love to live in anchorage. Or anywhere the livable Alaska really. The closest to the nature the better. It has always been my dream. Shame I was born at the other side of the world.
Basically everywhere is livable in Alaska
RJ Gilmore It’s not as cool as you would think... Anchorage is probably the most hated place in Alaska because of how dangerous it is... also racism is pretty bad too but talkeetna is pretty cool tho, also it’s really expensive , like really expensive and in the winter you barely get any sun and it’s like -40 or colder in some areas... overall AMAZING place to visit but stupid place to live
there isn't much "nature" left in anchorage. Move to Willow or the outslirts of Fairbanks.
I would say move to Juneau more Alaska there.
@@justicehiggins2963 I know I can look at the stats, but overall when you live in anchorage does it feel like there are a lot of minorities besides Inuits or no?
I’ve never in my life have ever seen an Alaskan license plate
Yeh. I actually seen 2 here in South Carolina a few months ago. I assumed it was the same family, but I was shocked!
I live in NJ and I see them every year for some reason.
How that's possible, who shipping they cars back to the homeland

I miss Alaska. Used to visit my aunt in anchorage for a few months at a time when I was younger.
Hey guys, My name is Dylan and I live in anchorage. On 4th ave there is a little camera store called Stewart’s. It’s my favorite place in the world.
Nice
Is it still there after all these years? I haven't been to downtown Anchorage in years, it's a place that most civilized people avoid. I'm a mid town person now. Also the best place in town to get a steak used to be the Paris Bar. I haven't been there in 20 years. is that still there? I quit going downtown after seeing the homeless taking dumps and urninating on the sidewalks, ok, I'll do my shopping elsewhere.
Brings back memories of being downtown anchorage 30 yrs ago. I was young.
Thanks for all the videos. I was stationed here from 2012-2015 and this channel always brings back great memories.
Hi Brad. Thank you for your service. Much Love.
It sucks now.
It is such a mind-blowing, there is a city like this in arctic circle
I’ve lived in Anchorage my whole life and it’s a wonderful place to grow up 100% recommend visiting you won’t regret

Its okay 20 years ago but now i don't think so my friend
This was in my recommendations for some reason :) you have such a cute little downtown, it’s so quaint and adorable

I live in Anchorage, it's so beautiful:)
No it's not.
@@pjgumby why do you say that
@@chefskiss7796 I was born in this town, it's changed so much. When the pipeline was being built and masses of people came up here for the black gold it changed it forever. It was way nicer before then. Now we got drugs, and crime and people who brought their problems up here and then spawned more of their ilk. Anchorage is a shit hole now. Sorry, but it is compared to what it was. It's a SHIT HOLE! I remember we all wished for the most hellish Winter on Earth so that no one would want to stay and they all go home. Half of these nimrods stayed and bred more crime, so excuse me if I'm not real happy about it. Anchorage isn't beautiful anymore. Everybody, it's time to go home. Go home, it's time. How much summer does this state get? This state must get a lot of snow during the winter.
Who else watches these to see what tourists think of our state
Me lol
Tourists? You mean colonizers?
At the exact same spot Federal Building on 4th on Saturday nite, there were like couple musicians playing live music and live DJ until 2.30 am. The nite life on downtown anchorage is crazy on weekends. Lots of young people and club goers wandering on the street and go in and out of the bar. I really enjoy the adventure in Anchorage and Barrow. Reindeer sandwich at the coffe place at Ted Steven airport was the best.😊
I’m from Mainland US and seeing a place so remote and isolated seeming is kind of creepy to me. Perfect place to film a serial killer movie.
I think they made one with Cusack
It started as a tent city and finally now it became a tent' city again.
I travelled from Greece to Alaska and i felt so sad for the homeless people.
lol when i was a kid my family was moving to alaska and i thought we were going to live in a agloo.
Born and Raised for the first 6 years of my life in Anchorage. Then moved to Palmer and now Im 21 living in Palmer. Very happy to be Alaskan owo
what kind of work is in Palmer
Get a reindeer dog? Never hot one, but International House of Hotdogs in mid-town (In front of Trend Setters) is amazing.
Also, on the Anchorage Historic Hotel. I stayed there. We had watched a bunch of Ghost Hunters on TV and decided to start up the Central Alaska Society of Paranormal Experience Research (CASPER). Don't remember what room we stayed in (Second floor. Wanna say 205). While we didn't find much, we did have fun. (Ask about their paranormal log book)
International house of hotdogs is down town now
Next to/behind snow city cafe

So beautiful, Hi how are you Yvonne?
Was there in June 2017. Called my dad in Richmond, VA to pull up a link I sent him before I left , click on it to find me on the webcam. He did. I looked so small on paper after he printed the picture of me. Returned in June 2919 via Alaska Rail from Fairbanks.

I hope you liked Anchorage, I lived in Anchorage Alaska Since 1978 and next time when your here look up my friend down at the Saturday Market. he Sells Shirts that Says (Pissing Off Texas Since 1959)
My wife and I are here via the Army. When we went "downtown" it seemed much more drab and gloomy that what is depicted here. Granted, we have not explored much, mostly driving through to get back on the other side of the 1.
Never had I heard of a place that had "historical history" to check out before
He probably meant hysterical history.

It is so surprising that this looks like any other town. Alaska looks so isolated and unpopulated on Google maps. But then you see a video like this.
I need a good relationship
I really enjoy to see vids abot Anc-Ak "… a lot of bussines already closed…" At what time did you make the tour?
Do a good video of Captain Cook all the way to Snow City take right and go to the Captain Cook Monument Monument....then you got a do the walk down to the middle pier and over look where the water kisses the sky to the left of the "Sleeping Lady"....then down to the park by the tracks and follow through the tunnel and show me some ocean. Its been awhile since I've been home. Thanks NuttyNu
If you’re thinking about moving here make sure you have a job first and money. It can be expensive for housing, food, etc. and don’t move here in winter Incase things don’t work out...seriously; come prepared.
Good tips😁. Do you know about how much is a liveable hourly/yearly wage for a single guy(no plans for a family) not trying to live like a king? I assume, like anywhere, I can find decent, cheaper apartments further from Anchorage?
I think at least $15 + per hour. Check State of Alaska website: www.alexsys.dol.alaska.gov to search jobs. You can go onto CraigsList Alaska to check prices on housing. Good luck.
Seeing as rent starts at least at $1000 and utilities could be at least $60 each if they’re not included, I’d guess you need to make at least $2200/month to get by.
D watson As for cheap housing, the Mush Inn has monthly rates but the hospital bill for bed bug bites are on you. The Black Angus MIGHT have cheap prices, but it’s not worth the weekly shootouts and drug busts.
Thank you for posting this. I’m planning a trip to Anchorage in the spring, I’m sure this video will come in handy.
Awesome, see you soon !
I've been wanting to move to Alaska for years{I prefer the winter climate more} but I'm always sidetracked...wow I thought it was always freezing up there...I guess that north pole image is much further north...I don't know yet but I'm getting closer and closer to heading up there...wait a minute marijuana is legal up there? Man that's just icing on the cake and I wasn't even concerned about that...wow yeah Alaska is the dream for me.
