Thanks Steve, some great advice there, it cost's alot more than some people think, did a by lap on a motorbike living in a tent, but along the way you still spend more than you thought you'll spend, cheers mate 🤙
Great vid Steve. For our 14mth lap towing a 20ft van the 3 x basic exp of Fuel, Acc, Food was $39k, but those figures are very misleading. Ultimately that $39k equated to less than half of the total $85k in costs, and we had zero major failures or un-budgeted expenses.
Thanks Steve I think the hardest thing for me is just getting on the road to start with. Closing down my business and source of income, selling our home, selling our things, then knowing the only source of income we have is whatever the stock market throws our way on the money we managed to put away. That's hard giving up all I've really known for the past 25 years
I hear you Jeremy. I guess the only solution then would be to ask yourself how you could do it without necessarily burning your bridges - rent your house, get someone to look after your business for you, put your things in storage etc. Failing that, how could you do the trip in smaller bites over several years eg. 2 or 3 months at a time?
