The tale of three bands, Tarja Nightwish, Annette Nightwish, then the Goddess Floor's Nightwish. There are versions of the first two I liked but none compare to when Floor does the same songs. That super gorgeous talented and master of all genres that she sings floor Jansen, is the true Dutch goddess! I know there are people that or tarja fans, because she is unbelievable singer. .. But, she is good in one genre only, Opera. And yes there is a difference between Opera and classical. When I hear tarja, without seeing her first... It's one-dimensional it's deep throaty at times with a monotone and falsetta sound, but... Night Wish music. And it always look like she was forcing it. Tarja, Anette and Floor are all sopranos. And, no, there's no difference between classical and opera. It's airy, in headvoice, often with lots of vibrato. Rock and blues comes from deeper down, that's why it's called belting and is often throaty. Tarja does classical, Anette rock and Floor manages both and mixes them as well.
@@LarS1963 There is an reaction video of the Soprano Magie Reneé in which both explaines and shows exactly what the difference between classical and opera singing is. It has to do with resonance and the shape of the mouth etc and the way notes are formed
I too don't know why there are so many great Metal female singers from The Netherlands but I am very proud and happy about it! All this talent from my tiny country! 8D
I know this is a late answer, but I think that it's because that this is filmed in Sauna Open Air. Tuomas later revealed in a recent interview with Metal Hammer that they already asked Floor and Troy to join the band after the SOA show. Tuomas probably answered in Finnish because he didn't want to confuse Floor by saying that there's no need to hurry yet with the decision. This was just the answer he wanted to give to the media.
He was telling him if that's something you don't feel comfortable discussing right in front of her, but that after the tour he would be springing it on her and Troy to join full-time. And then of course wintersun drummer fell in right after, because jukka had developed a serious medical issue with a severe type of insomnia and being many years later that. I tell you, that he might not come back at all but is still involved it all drum Parts when writing
What's the name of this interviewer? I think he deserves some recognition. I've watched some interviews with bands in the past and I recognize his voice - he always asks the right questions and seems to know the music very well.
I wonder why Tuomas points at Floor, calling her 'she' instead of by her name and not answering in English when asked if Floor's permanent. You can see on Ms. Jansen's face that it was a surprise he did that. Tuomas is a strange, character indeed! Very oddly-behaved and mysterious... I guess all geniuses are :)
Wasn't she already an official member though? I know they didn't release if officially until later. Maybe Tuomas was just being mysterious as to not give away the news.
I meant that Tuomas acts very mysteriously, I wasn't referring to anything to do Floor's role in Nightwish (if she was temporary or not). What does being courteous and considering how another feels in a situation have to do with whether or not someone is a solid member of a band or not? Obviously Ms. Jansen would know if she was to be a permanent fixture before the interviewer, so there is nothing to hide from her. Moreover, there are obviously Finnish people who have seen this video and will understand every word Floor couldn't, so I don't believe his decision was based on his not wanting to 'give away the news'. It just doesn't appear very mannerly to speak in one's native tongue when around those who cannot. I'm not taking anything away from Mr. Holopainen; he's a credit to the music industry and I am a massive fan of Nightwish's work as a whole.
Kira Levine I agree. He could have easily answered in English. Also did you notice his slight reaction to her talking about Revamp? Tuomas is accustomed to being in charge, however, he's not dealing with a puppet who will just sit quietly and be controlled. Floor is quite accomplished on her own. If there isn't a "two-way street" of ideas, I fear this union will not last long. I feel that's why she is so focused on learning the language. She won't have anyone do her talking for her.
