WVU Plays 6 of the "Top 7" teams, and mark my words we will beat at least 4 of them. The disrespect WVU is still getting after a 9 win season and retaining majority of offense production and rebuilding a much better defense is beyond me. Mountaineers win at least 9 games this season and ar in the running for Big 12 chip.

You guys may win 9 games, but will probably be brutalized by injuries at the end for playing 11 P5 games. You may very well make the big 12 championship, but will probably get folded like a lawn chair because of injuries.

  • @40to38

Out of the returning teams, UCF had the best offense... not my opinion... 487 yards per game. And they did it with QB injuries. They lost a good receiver in Baker, but they add KJ Jefferson and Jacurri Brown at QB. They add Penny Boone and Myles Montgomery to an already great RB room. They added so much WR depth that Agiye Hall had to walk on. This Malzahn offense is going to be ridiculous. Everyone is sleeping on them so nothing personal, but I just don't get it. I think people are just assuming they will have QB injuries and the worst defense in college football again despite all the talent and depth they've added.

Ok state has the most starters on both sides of the ball returning in the big 12. They will be in the running for the big 12 and possibly a playoff spot. Bowman isn’t top tier but he’s good and should be better. Last year he had to wait 3 games before finally taking the reins so his timing and production was down in some games. I expect that to be much improved this season esp with OG2 and more experienced Oline.

Iowa State beat Oklahoma State and Kansas State last year. They get KU this year at a neutral site and only lost to them by a TD. They play Texas Tech for homecoming. It's entirely feasible Iowa State wins all those games. That's why they are on this list. Sad that both of you counted them out right from the start without objectively looking at their schedule. Also.. WVU should be on this list.

He's no doubt talented, but he's only beaten 3 teams with winning records in the past 2 seasons, no ranked teams, and got smacked around by every ranked team he did face in all 4 seasons he's played (He's 0-7 in those games). His record against Big 12 teams is 4-15 as well. The video game numbers against non-conference teams is nice, time to see if he can do it against real competition if he can stay healthy.

    BTW…OK State has 3 4⭐️’s behind Bowman.
As to last year, Bowman was splitting reps 3 ways until Game 4 when he was named the starter when at the same time he lost the top 2 WRs Strickland and Bray. He averaged 297 yd/gm as starter even tho he did not have the ability to build any chemistry/timing with the WRs until mid-season. He’ll be playing behind what has been rated the #1 OL in the country, handing the ball to OG2, and passing to 2 of top 5 returning WR in the B12 - Pressly and Owens exploded down the stretch and Strickland is back healthy.

he started one single game last year, and played in 8 total with 7 of those games adding up to about the same playing time as one single game. So in affect, he played in two full games last year.
In those two single games, he accounted for 12 total TDs. 12 TOUCHDOWNS. 5 passing TDS/0 ints, and 7 rushing touchdowns.. With 5 of them coming in one single game.
to say he hasn't done anything is being foolish. If the KSU coaching staff wasn't so hellbent on letting Will Howard stay as the starter last year, KSU would have been undefeated and won the conference lmao.

@@aaronmurray9021 No, its more than one total game. He started in the pop tarts bowl and played the entire game, and he started as a WR in the TCU game, but played half that game.
Still, 12 TDs in a total of 2 games worth of play time is nothing to overlook. Most QBs contribute to maybe 20-25 TDs on the ground and in the air in a full season. The fact that Avery did it in two total games of playing time is insane.
His throwing % is also something that pepole look at from last year and say "wow he can't throw," but if you watch the pop tarts bowl, 8 of his throws were throw aways so that he didn't force a turnover or as to avoid losing yardage. Basically, he is very unselfish.
