I was drinking coffee when you started to describe what dogs do, and I spit out my coffee I was laughing so hard! The Dutch word is close to what we call it - poop - but seriously your using the other word was a scream! You are an absolute delite!
I was drinking a blueberry smoothie, hahaha. Thank goodness I swallowed before Sara´s explanation. That made my day too. 😁
😂😂😂 I was dying!!!! So funny!!! I literally laughed out loud. My husband walked by and he laughed too. I LOVE Sarah!!!

Sarah, have you changed the sewing machine needle? Sometimes that makes all the difference & such an easy fix. The experts will say to change it with every project. (I don't, but I do change it often!) Also, using the correct needle for the fabric type is important. Good luck❤❤❤
So much laughter with the “sh**ting” but in a good way. The word is technically accurate but since it’s also considered by many as a vulgar word it’s funny to hear it unintentionally in a sweet knitting episode

Congratulations to your son, Sarah. You will enjoy Prague - we went in the autumn, and the weather was much colder than I expected because there is so much dampness in the air near the river. But all the soups served in bread bowls and the goulash will keep you warm! Have wonderful time in Prague! It is a beautiful city. I was there almost 20 years ago and stayed in a Youth Hostel that was a former jail. It was a great trip and I still have wonderful memories of it. Thank you for making me think of it again.
We do say dog poop in American English. I think British English is poo bag. It a more polite word than sh*t. And a Mode show is called a Fashion show in English. Thanks for a wonderful episode!

Hi Sarah, there is a person watching you from Prague:) I hope you enjoy your time in our hundered-tower city and here are two yarn shops which you defintely need to visit: Yarn Queen (good selection of yarn) and Woolpoint (good selection + you can do a beautiful walk down the hill from this store through a Petřin gardens - the trees should be still in great colours!) Thank you for all your great episodes which make me very happy everytime I watch them.

Oh Sarah! As an Afrikaans speaking viewer you had me now laughing so hard with the dog ‘poepen’, I know in Dutch and Afrikaans there is another word, spelled the same, but much stronger (here in SA people use it as a swear word).
I think I must ask my daughter now living in the Netherlands (very near to you) to buy me some of those lovely new DLana wool as a Christmas gift…

Great job with the sewing! I had a hard time getting along with my first machine...turns out it wasn't very good and once I got a nice one, it was a whole new world and so less frustrating to learn to sew. Enjoy your time in Prague! We follow rugby in my house, too. I hope your son enjoys it and you can find some special birthday goodies at yarn shops.

I don’t know if you watch Inga’s podcast “Knitting Traditions”, but she is a Norwegian knitter who travels a lot and she checks out yarn stores wherever she goes. I think she was in Budapest not long ago and visited several Hungarian yarn stores. She might also be familiar with yarn stores in Prague. She is a very kind person and I’m sure she would be happy to share her knowledge with you. Happy Travels and Happy Birthday! 🎉
P.S. Those felted things were pinecones, not pineapples dear. But after the first laugh I had earlier (dog poop bag), I figured to just keep going on laughing. Those are the cutest and most heartwarming "mistakes" ever and lots of us cheered up today. Thank you so much Sarah. Loved all your wonderful makes and presents. Poop for US English, poo (verb and noun) here in the UK. When your dog has a poo, or goes for a poo. Your word is mild swearing, which came from Dutch/German, so makes sense 🤷♀️🤣
Yay! Sarah made a skirt!! Great job! I make all of my clothing and have for years and years. Its the very best feeling to wear your clothes from head to toe. You can do this too Sarah. Be patient with yourself. Start slow. No one becomes great overnight. It takes time.
Finally, I have a good excuse for using the poop-emoji 💩😂! Your sewing machine needs a little love sometimes, a nice cleaning, a drop of proper oil, and a new needle suitable for your fabric. Buy good quality thread that doesn’t break. Patience and some nice words will also help you two along 😉. Enjoy your birthday an Prague ❤️

I can so relate to your feelings with your sewing machine. As far as the work in English for poop it’s poop or dog waste. I carry bags with me too to clean up after my dog.

In the U.K. we also have to cleanup after our dogs (although some ignorant people think it’s ok not too 😮)

The temperature is so low in your house that 2 sweaters is a bare minimum if you want to be remotely warm.
During the winter it's warmer outside than it is inside.

When looking in the fridge, you never trust that the yogurt or margarine containers contain what the label says.
You were green before it was popular. Why recycle when you can just reuse!
You have a pair of wooden shoes in your house.
Your china cabinet is filled with Delft.
You like pickled herring.
You've eaten oliebollen at New Years.
You enjoy chocolate sprinkle (hagelslag) sandwiches.
You have cousins who wear size 14 shoes and are over 6'4"
You wash and reuse plastic cups and plastic cutlery.
You have soup and open-faced sandwiches for Sunday lunch.
The most frequent phrase uttered growing up was "Turn off the lights!"
You get a chocolate letter every year for Christmas.
All the tables in your house are covered in tablecloths.
You like krokets.
You know that Vla is better than regular old pudding.
You drink tea with breakfast, coffee at 10 am, tea at 3 pm, and coffee again at 8 pm (with cookies or biscuits of course!)
You have an afghan knitted by your Oma.
You collect coupons like they're going out of style.
Your Oma had a calendar with everyone's birthdays & anniversaries spelled out in capital letters (bonus points if it hung in the bathroom!)
You've been known to recycle aluminum foil. And ziploc bags.
You own a special utensil that is only used for cutting cheese.
You know that Gouda is the best cheese ever.
You have at least 5 relatives with the same name (and somehow you always know which one is being talked about).
When you hear all the "new ways to save energy" you yawn and say "I've been doing that all my life!"
You eat your sandwiches open-faced. "What? You want another slice of bread? I'll make you another sandwich."
You rarely have both meat and cheese on the same sandwich.
You have never met half the relatives at your family reunion
You have 100 roles of toilet paper in your house because they were on sale.
You put a little water into the jar of tomato sauce and shake it to make sure you got it all out.
You have trouble shopping for hats. There should be at least two sizes: 'one size fits all' and 'dutch'.
You wipe the last of the butter out of the container with your bun.
All your cookies taste like almonds.
You make the bed in your hotel room.
You have lace on your windows but not on your underwear.
You like dubbel zout drops, and have occasionally tricked a friend into trying one.
You've put mayonnaise on your french fries.
Your kitchen is filled with milk bags drying, waiting to be reused in the freezer.
You have a spoon collection.
Your favourite mustard comes in jars that can be reused as drinking glasses.
You leave a window open year round to get fresh air.
You eat stroop waffles.
You love the colour orange.
You have a vegetable garden because there's no way you're paying that much for veggies at the grocery store.
Your fridge is always stocked with leftovers. Throw out food? Never!
You go to the "Dutch Store" because the smell brings back so many childhood memories.
You have pictures of windmills around your house.
Everything is Do-It-Yourself - it's cheaper than hiring someone.
You use "washandjes" (facecloths that you can put your hand into).
You own tea towels and oven mitts patterned with windmills and dancing women in clogs.
You call it "MELK" not "milk".
All your cousins have the same names as your brothers and sisters,because everyone is named after Oma and Opa.
And finally, you know you're Dutch when..
You're laughing along with this list because you can relate to most it!
I grew up in a Dutch family and I did laugh at many of these!
