The 5070 will clearly be faster than the 4090. The secret is to turn on MFG X4, then buy Lossless Scaling and turn that to X10 mode. If you want some extra sauce, just throw on some DLSS. With the power of fake frames, every card is a 4090.

Yes lol the only thing I cared about this gen is vram uplift on any of the product stack other than the top of the line. Kinda glad my 4080 will remain powerful and not far away from the 5080 for another gen

It is a gift to me who is upgrading from a 2080. I am curious if amd will get the same sentiment when the 9070/xt doesn't even hit 7900xtx performance levels.
Because they won't be able to farm and upsell both AI enthusiasts and many gamers to the 5090, if high VRAM was easily accessible for cheap. With 16 GB they count on games and AI models to JUST be not enough with new requirements, so that they can release 18-20gb versions next time and make people upgrade to their new cards for that extra 2-4 gb.
End of last year I upgraded from 3060 Ti to 4070 Ti Super. Typically I would also skip at least one gen but the uplift between those GPU's seemed to be high enough so I bit the bullet, especially since there was a sale on a pretty nice model. Seeing how small these increases are between 4000 and 5000 series (aside from 90), I feel quite good about my purchase.

If i had a 4080 Super I wouldn't even THINK about upgrading to the 50 series. Here's the neat part. I have a 4070 non-Super, and I still wouldn't upgrade to a 50 series, I'd rather wait for 60 series.
I impulse bought a second hand 4090 a year ago for 1450€ (German prices). I thought it was too expensive to justify keeping it so I sold it since I was hopeful that we would get a sub 1000€ card with equal performance this gen. I deeply regret this now. The prices have only gone up since then.

If this was a 4080ti super I think this would be the lowest uplift in performance of an -80ti vs -80 card at least that I remember but maybe ever (baring the 3080 but that was more about bumping VRAM which you don’t get here). This is does not seem like a generational uplift to me by any stretch.
It was obvious once Nvidia published the official specs. What you were waiting from just 5% more shaders and 30% more bandwidth? Blackwell offers zero improvements in terms of IPC and clocks.
It was obvious when Nvidia stopped producing the 4090 and 4080 way ahead of the 5000 release in order to clear all the stock. They knew no-one would buy a 5080 if 4080 Supers were still available.
I think nvidia made MFG exclusive because that's the only distinguishing factor. This is not a new architecture. Same as last gen so the same type of cores, which means there's no reason 40 series can't run MFG. They just don't want to provide MFG in 40 series because then they won't be able to compete with 50 series.

As someone who secured a brand new 4080 Super for an absolute steal in Black Friday sales when I did my new 9800X3D build I can only selfishly say I find this meagre performance bump comforting lol. When you use Frame Gen in the benchmark please add a Latency measure, just like in the Digital Foundry video. Latency is the most valuable figure when turning on FG when testing

Because they won't be able to farm and upsell both AI enthusiasts and many gamers to the 5090, if high VRAM was easily accessible for cheap. With 16 GB they count on games and AI models to JUST be not enough with new requirements, so that they can release 18-20gb versions next time and make people upgrade to their new cards for that extra 2-4 gb.

End of last year I upgraded from 3060 Ti to 4070 Ti Super. Typically I would also skip at least one gen but the uplift between those GPU's seemed to be high enough so I bit the bullet, especially since there was a sale on a pretty nice model. Seeing how small these increases are between 4000 and 5000 series (aside from 90), I feel quite good about my purchase.

I impulse bought a second hand 4090 a year ago for 1450€ (German prices). I thought it was too expensive to justify keeping it so I sold it since I was hopeful that we would get a sub 1000€ card with equal performance this gen. I deeply regret this now. The prices have only gone up since then.

It was obvious once Nvidia published the official specs. What you were waiting from just 5% more shaders and 30% more bandwidth? Blackwell offers zero improvements in terms of IPC and clocks.
It was obvious when Nvidia stopped producing the 4090 and 4080 way ahead of the 5000 release in order to clear all the stock. They knew no-one would buy a 5080 if 4080 Supers were still available.

I think nvidia made MFG exclusive because that's the only distinguishing factor. This is not a new architecture. Same as last gen so the same type of cores, which means there's no reason 40 series can't run MFG. They just don't want to provide MFG in 40 series because then they won't be able to compete with 50 series.

Dude you're delusional if you think AMD's gonna be much better. Their own upscaling is still worse and they still aren't able to do ray-tracing decently. Heck I think even the RTX 2000 cards lose less performance for activating ray-tracing than current AMD cards.

I used to game on 2k 144hz 27" monitor, now I have 32" qhd (3440x1440p) ips widescreen, rtx 4080s is ok for this resolution. I would like to get same monitor but with qled panel, but it is 1000USD.

When you use Frame Gen in the benchmark please add a Latency measure, just like in the Digital Foundry video. Latency is the most valuable figure when turning on FG when testing
