- We made some great progress by converting our van's bench seat into a single swivel seat / Captain's Chair. Jolene's really starting to come together now, very exciting!
This is Episode 10 of our van build series.
In this series, we are ONLY going to be using RUclips tutorials to build a fully off-grid Camper Van from our 2014 Sprinter van. And we'll be doing it on a budget :) Make sure to subscribe to see our next videos.

I work offshore on ROVs (Remotely Operated Vehicles) which often operate at depths in excess of 2000m. We are always having to make up and modify power and data cables in order to integrate new tooling or survey equipment. Let me tell you Killian, that your soldering looks little different from ours, so well done! Don't forget to add some electrical insulation though. You don't want any sparks!

Just binge watched the whole series so far, nice job! I've been meaning to do this myself with a hightop T4 van but a lack of time and too many other interests kind of put a stop to those plans, so I've sold the van now.

This is like dejavu, I actually done exactly the same as you with the same fault light appearing, you can switch the light off with the computers you plug in. I don’t know if you know but on the B piller, if you remove the plastic trim there is a threaded hole so you can remove the belt from the seat and attach it to the b piller, that way it doesn’t twist around you as you swivel. ⚠️ though, when you take the plastic trim of be super careful around the slider adjustable bit where you pull out the seatbelt as a small spring and clip will likely come flying out, this is a major pain in the arse to put back together.
Great tip thanks David! I’ll have to see if I can find that threaded hole in Jolene because it would be handy. I didn’t know that it existed so I’ll hunt for it next time in there and will give you a shout out if I find it! 🤞🏼
