Due to the popularity of this Van Conversion series, I am relocating it to a dedicated Van Conversion Channel! youtube.com/@mattsvan The Matt Estlea 2 Channel was originally for shitposting and used as a proving ground for ideas we have, without the risk of damaging the main channels (Matt Estlea) ranking in RUclipss search algorythms. Ideally we'd like to continue using it for this purpose, but are concious of clogging up the feeds of people who only signed up for van related content. Hence the dedicated channel. It also means I can use the dedicated channel for travel vlogs and other van related content once the conversion is complete which sounds fun. Go subscribe!
Thank you very much for this video. Managed to fit mine with a combo of the enclosed instructions and your video. I fitted it solo and didn’t have any troubles. Really pleased with how easy it was to fit and the smoothness of the mechanism. Thanks!
Those swivel seat frames look very good. I am not really sure about the drivers seat swivel, though - but you are the one who actually FEELS how it works.
Drivers seat is a little more tricky as the handbrake needs to be lowered for it to spin meaning the car needs to be in gear. But I don’t see myself using it too often unless parked up for very long periods of time
‘That’s the passengers problem, not mine’. Had me laughing out loud! Short and sweet video. The edits are perfect too and that mechanism looks great; not that I’m an engineer, but it looks to be well made and easy to fit. Keep up the great work.
Hi Matt i just thought it's worth a mention, when the drivers seat is reversed it acts as extra security to prevent anyone driving the vehicle, if it's padlocked into position.
If you knew you were going to put swivel seats in, couldn't you have taken the seat out before to help you with the removal of the bulkhead? Or was it a later decision to put it in?
I have this double swivel and hate it. It's such a pain in the ass to undo the four bolts every time you want to swivel it. I'm certain they could have engineered this better, but...
Yea I must say it is a bit of a pain now I've had it for longer. That said, I wonder if it's something to do with maintaining the safety rating of the mechanism perhaps?
Yeah, I wondered that as well. Whatever the case, it's so annoying that I don't even use it unless I am going to be somewhere for a week or so. I'm actually going to sell the seats and replace them with two BMW seats which are crazy cheap here and ubiquitous and have all manner of controls on them. I'll gladly take two swivel seats instead of this horribly implemented bench. I am going to take the rear seats as well from a totaled bmw and reupholster a middle seat from a ford truck and find some way of making it have a quick release mechanism, so I can easily move it out of the way and use the swivels. I might make a video about it. Thanks for your inspiring videos! @@MattEstlea2

I love that you read the instructions before you started the installation! As a former technical writer, I really appreciate it!
Personally, I'll never understand the "Instructions!? Psshh I won't be needing THESE🚮" people lol

I have nothing to say really, but I appreciate your content, and wish to help with the yt-algorithms.

And then he buys the same brand for the single seat...guess it is his problem now as well, lol
Good to see you back Matt.
Great video. Hopefully the entire van conversion is this easy 😁😁
Great to see the next instalment in this series…. Looking forward to watching this build 😊

That's a great shout. Thank you!
really cool videos, maybe just me but I like them so much I wouldn't mind them being longer
Im new to your channel and I love it. Keep it up, Matt!
Smooth… just bought mine !
Just bought one 🔥
Looks nice but how is the release mechanics ? Is there a hendel bar or do you have to unscrew wing bolts, for turning it around?
If you knew you were going to put swivel seats in, couldn't you have taken the seat out before to help you with the removal of the bulkhead?
Or was it a later decision to put it in?
Very nice setup!
Shame you didn’t bother to show the process of rotating the seat
Can you emphasise how not to snap the seatbelt cable as I snapped mine and it’s caused an absolute nightmare
Have you got a product link please
I need one to fit a ldv maxus 🤷🏻♂️
Can I buy this in USA?
What's the weight of these
Id like to have this heated
You missed a pretty vital part about how you cut fed the cable through for the seatbelt and then required the yellow mechanism into the wire
👍🎅🏻🎅🏻👍
