The whole "I didn't think the bad things would happen to me" is such a sadistic take because it means they pictured it happening to others and STILL were in favour of it.

Let me start by saying I am not a Trump supporter. The statement in this video is misleading. The state of Oklahoma deciding to spend what little money they had left in their budget on Bibles for schools has little to do with Trump being elected or not. That is a matter decided by the state board of education. It is something they would have done even if Kamala Harris were elected. The Neoliberal Corporate Democrats are not going to do anything to curb corporate power, bring down inflation and reduce the cost of living. That is why they lost. Even if voters fell for Trumps lies the Democrats do not have a coherent strategy or message other than Trump is a Fascist. Why, because they side with special interests and the donors who big corporate lobbyists represent.

I talked to quite a few Trump supporters before the election. They were really excited to vote for policies he didn’t have. Loved qualities about him that Trump doesn’t possess. They were determined to vote against policies that Kamala Harris wasn’t running on and told me all the things they didn’t like about Harris that had no relationship to her.
Trump supporters just had a fantasy election, and now their fantasy is crashing into the reality of what they actually voted for.

This is miseducation is 100% on purpose, because these people haven’t had the resources to be taught critical thinking skills.
It is quite literally what happened in the Western Roman Empire over its last 150yrs, before the remnant converted fully into the Catholic Church. Their “public system,” based on Jewish teaching traditions, was taking off; but it was a threat to the Emperor. So, they went back to their roots and reimplemented their old Greek “SA your kids in exchange for an education” model. One that leaves 7/8ths of the population as only Home Educated, at best.
Their Military & Political Class suffered first with allegiance-based political appointees only from the “educated (& sadistic)” Class; instead of the *very diverse* merit-based system that had grown the Empire to its peak of strength.

One of the most important things that I noticed gets left out of discussing how far Black folks have come during Black History month is that not all slaves believed they were free. There were some who stayed slaves. The Underground Railroad had many failed attempts for folks who could have escaped but were “willfully ignorant.” Consider the inhibitions. And then reconsider that these people are the modern slaves of capitalism and purity culture. Are you aware that they have education kept from them by their leaders? Are you aware that dopamine fixing hobbies are kept from them culturally, a fundamental part of healing decision fatigue and brain fog? Consider that these people are disabled to know what we know, on purpose. If they are being attacked with culture to keep them making babies and working until they die, then that indeed would be a hard type of slavery to identify and target. Harder still because of the volume. A new movement has begun to free these people. And it means stealing the slaves from their captors. Become Daryl Davis if you wish to do something. We cannot change this alone, but there is hope. We can change it together. It will be a task for the rest of our lives, but we will be the generation to make Americans free again. Free from this stranglehold to work til death for a faction of leaders who do not serve us.

Tried to bring up Project 25.
He said "that just sounds like a bunch of conspiracy nonsense."
Last thing I tried to engage him on was the fact that project 25 wants to end religious freedom. He says, "I don't want to put an end to my religion. I love my religion."

What it actually means is exporters raise prices to cover the cost of the tax, so in reality it incentivizes foreign countries to tax American citizens while the Federal Government reaps the benefits as the middleman.
You can see why we abandoned this form of economy in the 1920's and 30's.
Americans fought for the right to have a federal tax for 2 decades, because they knew back then what was good for their local businesses, schools, and hospitals.
Now Americans want to remove this benefit because "taxes bad"

I live in the deep red state of Idaho. I've been substitute teaching for the past four years. I love teaching and have been working towards finishing my degree and obtaining my teaching certificate. When I woke up on November 6th, I couldn't do it, I couldn't accept any substitute assignments; I couldn't even imagine continuing with my goal of becoming a teacher. I've tried for two weeks to get myself to accept an assignment, to keep on keeping on, to stay in it for the kids; this past week I quit, I can't do it. It is too much risk. I do not feel safe working in any capacity of education under Trump's administration. And I realized, it's better to get out now, while I'm still free to do so. I'd strongly encourage anyone living in a red state, and working in education, to seriously reconsider. Take a moment and really listen to what Trump and Vance are saying - not just about education - about everything. Because their proposed ban on pornography is going to adversely affect teachers. Vance especially has been railing against educators, accusing us of indoctrinating and brainwashing children with our liberal agendas. Trump has been accusing schools of performing sex change operations. While most Americans have the common sense to realize the preposterous nature of their statements, the MAGA cultists do not. Vance wants to arrest any working in education who is caught distributing pornography, put them in prison, and label them a sex offender. The insidious component of this equation is - WHO - will determine what constitutes pornography. It will not be the court's decision, it will be the parents who define what is and isn't pornography. This means radical fascist groups, like Mom's For Liberty, will be able to remove any teacher, any librarian, or any administrator who stands up to their christofascist rhetoric. Not just remove - completely destroy the career of anyone who stands in their way. Can you think of a worse punishment for an educator than to be sent to prison and become a registered sex offender? That person will never work in education again. And even if you don't rock the boat, even if you kowtow to the ridiculous christofascist agenda, all it will take for a parent to hold your livelihood hostage, is to threaten to report you for distributing pornographic material. If you have spent any time in education, you know there are parents who will stop at nothing to ensure their student has every conceivable advantage, and will not hesitate to ruin an educator's career to get what they want. Listen y'all, I have great friends and neighbors and live in a great community. However, I am acutely aware there are parents in my community who will not hesitate to impose their will by threatening to have educators arrested, imprisoned, and labeled as sex offenders. I do not want to be anywhere near these people's children.
Additionally, I had a shitty, fucked up childhood. My parents were abusive in - every - way possible. I have struggled my entire life to overcome the devastating effects of my childhood. To see so many of my fellow Americans, my family, friends, and neighbors, vote for a serial sex offender - their choice has completely destroyed my faith in them. I have zero trust in any of them. I don't care why they voted for Trump. There is no rationalization worthy of my trust. I no longer feel safe associating with them. I feel completely betrayed by them. They are now as dead to me as my abusive parents have always been.

I think they'll turn over the student loan business to the Treasury Department, which will contract it out to approved private firms. It's about rerouting the revenue to friends who will have more money for lobbyists to maintain the cash cow. Federal educational research (actually a pretty efficient way to sponsor research that can benefit the whole country) just goes away I imagine. The rest gets kicked back to the States. If any money gets saved, it probably comes at student expense.

For almost 10 years, people have been saying "when Trump says he wants to do something [like defund or eliminate the Department of Education, take him at his word." And yet so many people STILL convinced themselves that he wasn't serious and voted for him. The man does not have a sense of humor! He doesn't kid! He only has 2 modes: telling the truth and lying. If he's denying something, there's a very good chance he's lying, if he says hes' going to do something awful, there is a long list of precedent that he is being serious

This is how lying works and the reason that once upon a time it was considered morally wrong. When you know someone's a liar, you can't believe anything they say. That includes what is true. There is a case to be had that we live in a post-truth world.

My cousin in California runs a construction company and he voted for Trump because he said that he almost lost his company because of Biden's policies. That did not stop him from buying a $250K mobile home two years ago. Now though with Trump's tariffs to Canada that is going to jump the prices of all the construction materials that we import from Canada. These tariffs might actually cast him dearly, but he should have thought about that before he went and voted for Trump.

I recently learnt a terrible phrase by Thatcher (that woman was an artist, an artist about being evil, but an artist nonetheless):
There is no society. There are only individuals and families.
It encapsulates perfectly the ideology of these people. They couldn't care less about what happens to someone who is not them or an extension of them (their families). Actual sociopath behaviour.

@@zsombortelek8411 She took away workers rights, used the police to violently end strikes, she cut social safety nets, including ending the provision of free milk to school children (Thatcher the milk snatcher). She sold off the government run water, electricity, gas and train companies to private enterprise leading to years of rising prices and worsening services, she sold off the country's social housing stock meaning that now if we need to home someone we have to purchase from private landlords and hotels which costs a fortune. Her attitude towards the people can be summed up in a memo about the city of Liverpool which was undergoing a severe employment crisis at the time due to the closures of the docks. Rather than propose to help, she said that the entire city should be left in a state of "Managed decline". She was a nasty piece of work.

@@zsombortelek8411Part of it depends on your point of view. Thatcher was very cut from the same cloth as Regan where she believed an unrestricted “free market” was good for the economy as well as a haaaard push for privatization of public services. One of her more controversial moves though was her effective hard shutdown of the British coal industry. People had been advocating for a managed ramp down that would’ve included reeducation for career coal miners (so that they could, you know, get jobs after the mines shut down.) Thatcher instead opted for a hard shutdown where the miners received no educational aid from the government, had to work right up to the final day, then sort themselves out when the mines closed. Entire towns in Scotland, Wales, and North England effectively collapsed into poverty because they had been built around the mines and without a working population the rest of the town businesses went tits up. The ramifications are still being felt to this day.

@@zsombortelek8411 She came up with the brilliant idea to sell off the government houses that poor people live in, so that a landlord class can be empowered to prey upon the tenant class (permanantly poor). The upshot of all this is that there are less houses for poor people, so now there are more who are.....home less. They are homeless. We have a waiting list for public housing where I live and unless you are fleeing domestic violence you may never actually get into public housing. The government say "we need to build more houses", but that land isnt free, and most people NIMBY so hard it gets in the way and progress slows down, slows riiiight down. The homeless meanwhile are invading communal spaces of apartment buildings and old folks homes and literally living in the hallways, stairwells, and lobbies to stay warm and dry.
