My dad bought me the Pearl Avion A7 when I was a young teenager. Ill never forget the day he came home from work and I was out back and he held it up over the fence. I still own and play it a lot today. Beautiful guitar and amazing value for the money. Neck through and super low action. Im 29 now and I will keep it forever.
I have this AV6 special guitar for last 9 years. Such a great looking guitar and plays extremely well. I was thinking of getting a Gibson last month (no doubt they are great guitars), and I went to test one out and decided to stick with the one I have. I didn't feel much of an upgrade in the sense of playability. May be I will just get SD Alnico 2 pick ups and that would be it for another 10 years.
I have been playing guitar 32 years. I have an AV-3 and it is a great guitar. The attention to detail is very good. I have tried and tried to find something to complain about, and can't find a thing. I just keep playing it and playing it!
I got myself the Royale RL 3 with an Amber finish some time in 2017 and I think it's the best guitar I've ever owned (I had two Gibsons, in retrospect they didn't offer anything additional the Royale wouldn't provide,). I miss the man and I keep coming back to these product presentations simply for the joy of listening to him in this humble and savvy way when talking about all the expertise and love that went into designing and building his instruments. I'd rate them among the best money can buy next to the obvious "players" and market leading companies and products, naturally.
i'm enjoying these too. not sure why. lol. i've never owned a samick (well...not a guitar labeled "samick," anyway), nor did i know a thing about greg until the other day. i decided to buy a glider capo. they were apparently designed by him several years back and work really well.
I own this guitar in trans-green. The design and quality reminds me of a PRS or other expensive models. Few realize it but many brands of guitars are made in the Samick factory- including some Gibsons, Epis, Alverez, Washburn, etc My Limited Av6 has a pro setup and it plays smooth and fast. Its on the heavy side but the stability and sustain are awesome. I think a little more imagination on the fretboard inlays, and other pickups might have been nice improvements..
👍 Just got a used wine red AV3. the paint quality, overall fit and finish are those of expensive guitars. Upgrading pickups will massively improve how the thing plays. Thank you Greg for this beautiful guitar 🎸
Someone just gave me a Greg Bennett sg with 3 humbuckers. I gotta say that this guitars feel is the same as my Gibson SG standard. It does not feel inferior to the Gibson. Fret work is beautiful on the Gibson and the Greg Bennett good enough ! And its quite heavy quality wood was used here !
Thank you very much Greg for your great review of this beautiful guitar. It certainly a lovely well designed instrument. I’ll make a point of purchasing one.
I’m VERY impressed with the Samick Les Paul Avion, signature series by Greg Bennett. So I understand he worked at Gibson at one time, and also designed guitars for many other big name brands. So a lot of thought goes into the designs. I demo’d one recently, and it was absolutely gorgeous and played wonderfully. Great scale, a much higher-end feel and quality for the price.>..which is a fraction of the price of a Gibson. I’ve bought it and am very happy. Thanks for the video. I think these are a great option for budget minded people like myself.
Let me first start off by introducing myself. Kevin Nicks here, Thank you so much Greg Bennett awesome sounding instrument RL-1 /TBL Perfect quick action clean crisp sounds. Stays in tune very affordable.
I just discovered these guitars yesterday. I had never heard of them before! They look amazing! Been checking deals on ebay and I'm amazed at what you can get such a gorgeous instrument for! I'm definitely going to be doing some serious shopping for one! Thanks for making such beautiful guitars!
74dart man they are now discontinued but I own a few. Such beautiful sounding instruments can’t beat the quality to price point ratio. The Only closely second would be Harley Benton guitars!
I've bought one 2nd hand. Needed a good cleaning and new strings. I'm really amazed about how good this piece of wood is ! Assembly, finish ... flawless. Pots may crunch a little bit, but the insde is isolated, soldering is clean, no excessiv hum from my fuzz or OD pedals. The neck also is very comfy ! I'm tuned C#, 432hz, low action, 10-47 strings and not a single fret buzz !! Once I'll have my P.A.F style pups in it, it will be a perfect guitar for the price of a cheapo crapo ^^
I have a Greg Bennet acoustic guitar. I've had it since 2001 or 2002. I love it. It's the only guitar that I have kept longer then a few years. It can sit in it's case for months and still stay in tune.
I have a Greg Bennet Samick acoustic by 8 years, i love that guitar!!! excellent playability, sound, tone and components (except the equalizer, i had to change it the last year, you can get one like the original or better (piezo plus pickup, same size) in the Belcat brand). I was looking for a guitar like this avion but sadly, nobody imports Samick guitars to my country by now.
I put together a Samick bass from a garage sale... it was fk'd but once cleaned and assembled, it plays and sounds like a far more expensive instrument... got me thinking about all the Samick bits and pieces I have had over the years and how they have been consistently reliable and capable.
i happen to have one of your acoustic gutairs its an st6-2 but im lookin for a new electric. I like this acoustic but its a short neck, and im outgrowing it, great little gutair though, thanks!
I've been desperately trying to find out where I can an avion in canada the only thing I can find is ebay ads from time to time. My friend somehow has a perfect avion av3 and I have no idea how he got his hands on one.
you might wanna check out facebook account Gudang Gitar Abi, he's a Gregg Bennet Dealer. If i'm not wrong, all these guitar made in Indonesia. We can find this guitar easily here
I wanted something I could take out and play and not happen to worry about breaking my expensive guitars my grandmother, give me one of these before she passed away. I took it out and played it, and I fell in love with it. It might not be a Gibson, Les Paul, but it definitely gets the job done.
I would like to make a statement about these guitars. 1. The Trademarked Brand name of these " Greg Bennett" guitars. is NOT Greg Bennett... It's "Signature Series" and the signature is Greg Bennett, who was an outside sales rep for Washburn and other guitars companies for about 30 years before he began importing Sammick built guitars under this Signature Series brand name. 2. If you search for "Bennett guitar" on google, eBay or Reverb. you will find many of these "Signature Series" Greg Bennett guitars along with a very few of My own trademarked Brand " Bennett Guitars" This has caused my Brand to wane, due to the large disparity in both the Pricing and the number built between the two brands, and the obvious Brand confusion created by Mr. Greg Bennett naming his guitars in the manner that he has. Legally I can't sue him because his guitar brand isn't bennett guitar or even Greg Bennett guitars. BUT its the guitar Communities general concensus that these guitars are called "Bennett guitars" which they are NOT. 3. I owned the trademarked brand "Bennett Guitars" from 1979 until about 2010 when I gave up on trying to compete with these Signature Series Greg Bennett instruments that were built by Sammick of Korea. I have seen many people purchase one of my handmade "Bennett Guitars" believing it was a Sammick made Greg Bennett guitar for a very cheap price. and of course they confused the quality of my handmade guitar with that of the Greg Bennett guitars . this is not fair or accurate. 4. its important to make sure that people know what they are buying, if a guitar says "Bennett" on it. it is a USA build handmade guitar and not an inexpensive Korean made guitar. it was made with extremely high quality woods that were aged for an average of 7-10 years prior to being made into a guitar and another 5-7 years after it was cut into a guitar shape. it will have used real pearl inlays, real USA Seymour Duncan Pickups, the highest quality available hardware, and many years of experience in traditional fine wood working. 5. I have since changed my trademarked brand to Bennett Music Labs. in an effort to help with this brand confusion. but even that brand can still be searched for by simply using "Bennett guitars" 6. I have built approximately 3500 guitar over the last 40 years and while that is a pretty fair number for a single person shop its is not even a drop in a very large bucket when compared to The normal Sammick output of 10K per month
So the smaller headstock stops string energy being lost... and the nut stops string energy getting past the nut... so you dont need a smaller headstock.... bs
So everyone knows and which I hate Samick for this is all of there electric guitars and bass guitars are not in production anymore and going to just be acoustic guitars.
Greg Bennett are good guitars but I love when they fuck around for one hour about the design and the action and the innovation and In the end it s just a fucking les Paul copy! Just say it it s a les Paul guys!
Happy with my AV-3 but this guy is so dishonest in the way he describes basic Gibson design elements from the 1950's as if he innovate them and added them to "his" design. It's a Gibson / Epiphone direct copy--plain and simple. He didn't "design" anything.
Very beautiful history and instrument!!!
have this same guitar for 20 years now and love it,,,,,it is very well made and sound as good as any gibson or fender...Thanks Greg...
I have this AV6 special guitar for last 9 years. Such a great looking guitar and plays extremely well. Agreed. I was trying to convivence myself to buy a Gibson last month, but I really cant complaint about anything about my AV6.

Rick Willard wow...I'm keeping an eye out for one used.

I have a Greg Bennet Samick acoustic by 8 years, i love that guitar!!! excellent playability, sound, tone and components (except the equalizer, i had to change it the last year, you can get one like the original or better (piezo plus pickup, same size) in the Belcat brand). An instrument becomes more awesome when it has a history.
But in this guitar, how do you access the electronics? How can I access the potentiometers that I want to replace?
Mr. Bennett, why did not you play that guitar?
I would like to hear it, sir.
Very good review, by the way, sir. :)
I can attest that it is a great sounding guitar for all venues
I just found a gorgeous Samick JZ3 and now after 55 yrs with other guitars....shes all I play...ok ok except one of these now on my list. to have.
I put together a Samick bass from a garage sale... it was fk'd but once cleaned and assembled, it plays and sounds like a far more expensive instrument... got me thinking about all the Samick bits and pieces I have had over the years and how they have been consistently reliable and capable.
R.I.P. Greg. You've designed a lot of guitar improvement.
Is he dead?
@@legendfranzo yes! last 2020
Oh wow I didn’t know he passed away 😮
I'm soon owning one of your guitars
I have that guitar and it's a very nice Les Paul.
i happen to have one of your acoustic gutairs its an st6-2 but im lookin for a new electric. I like this acoustic but its a short neck, and im outgrowing it, great little gutair though, thanks!
I own a Malibu and it is a fantastic guitar

It's the first time in the universe that a guitar maker has convinced me why their GUITAR is BETTER!
I saw a black AV6 in a shop, I checked the site but black isn't an available color. O.o is it like a rare/LTD?
what? where is the "lets plug it in" video?!
I think I just found my new guitar brand
I wanted something I could take out and play and not happen to worry about breaking my expensive guitars my grandmother, give me one of these before she passed away. I took it out and played it, and I fell in love with it. It might not be a Gibson, Les Paul, but it definitely gets the job done.

Greg can we hear anything from your electric guitars? Your product makes and descriptions is only as good as their sounds. : /
It looks like a Les Paul and a PRS fusion.
I was really interested until he started talking about tone woods.
