Supreme Court strikes down Electoral Bond Scheme: Transparency wins!
The Supreme Court has struck down the Electoral Bond Scheme, terming it as opaque and violative of the spirit of electoral funding transparency. A five-judge bench headed by Chief Justice D.Y. Chandrachud said the scheme lacked transparency and accountability, and it was not possible to trace the source of funds used to purchase electoral bonds.
