Blog Post: www.peeayecreative.com/how-to...
The Divi Builder and theme is great, and you can build awesome websites and blog content with it! So why not encourage people to share it? One of the most effective ways to create engagement and spread the word about your website is to share it on social media. But if people share your website with only an ugly link, it looks bad for your brand. You want the shared link to look good, convey your message, and obviously tempt the visitor to click on it. And one of the ways to do so is to set an image that is displayed whenever someone shares a post or page of your website on a social media platform like Facebook or Twitter.
So How Do You Choose This Image?
In this tutorial I am going to who you how to set the image which will show up when someone shares your website on social media. We are going to explain several ways to set your desired image so that you can choose one that works best for you. We will also talk about something called Open Graph meta data and use it to get desired results, so next time you see your website being shared on any social media platform it will look something like great.

Thanks for watching!
Thank you so much! My website had been bringing up the image of one of my sponsors when I shared the URL. Thanks to the help in your video, I fixed it!
Used the open graph plugin on some clients' website, mainly those which have a blog section...the plugin indeed works great
That is great, thanks for sharing! I noticed over the past year the plugin is being updated too, so that is good.
Thanks again! Happy holidays to you and the family!!
You're welcome, thank you and have a great holiday season as well!
So very timely! Thanks for your great work!
You are so welcome!
this was SO SO helpful! Thank you!!
Thank you so much! I have two pictures showing now though. Any thoughts on how to get rid of the old photo that would show up when I shared my website online? I never meant for it to show up but...I am a psychologist and not a developer doing web development sooo...
Hey thank you. I had been banging my head t figure this out. This was extremely helpful.
Glad it helped!
Thanks. You're showing the links for blog posts. What about the imagem and description for the main URL of your website and not the posts? Where do I change that image and text?
You shared a great information. i was looking for information to fix the OG image issue on facebook. You put great content on this issue. Thanks brother
Glad it was helpful!
Great video and much appreciated. Unfortunately Debugger is displaying my logo and an alternate description from my website. Also getting an "error Inferred Property
The 'og:image' property should be explicitly provided, even if a value can be inferred from other tags."
Thank you for the video and the Facebook debugger. I have it working for Facebook, however, when I send the same link via SMS text message it's still showing the old image. Is this just a caching issue or is there another step I need to take? THANK YOU!
This proved to be really useful! Nice content here.
I'm very happy to hear that!
Amazing video! Thanks alot!!!
Thank you for the wonderful tip.
You're welcome!
Another good video! Bravo!
Glad you like it!
I cant tell you how many stuff I read through thinking "how can this be so difficult" and nothing was working until I found your video
THANK YOU! Plain English for us dummies.....fixed my problem!!
You're welcome, glad to help!
Thanks. But do I have to manually go into each post and supply the image? Why doesn't it pick up the featured image I've fed into wordpress directly? It would be tedious to go back and add this in all past posts (which do have featured images).
I'm not sure what you mean. If the featured image is set, then it's good.
You're the man of Best Fix
Thanks. Now my logo doesn't show anymore and I still have no preview image. Super Job.
You're welcome, although I don't know what you mean about a preview image.
Great Job bro......i love it.
Glad you like it!
THANK YOU!!!!
Thanks for the video
No problem!
thank you sir,
anyone know how i can do it on shopify or how this thumbnail even named? I remember I changet it once, but dont remember how, cuz then I followed some guide on youtube videos, but its taking me hard time finding which video and in ehich particular part.
This will not be relevant to Shopify and people here all sue Divi.
@@PeeAyeCreative I know that I changed it for shopify, I just want to find a way to change it again lol
Hello, is this the same for the website image? mine shows a different image than the one I set.
You can refer to the blog post or video as I believe this was covered.
Thanks!
You're welcome!
Hi, great video. Is this only for Wordpress? How other CMS
Yes, this is for WordPress. I am sure all other platforms are different but similar.
@@PeeAyeCreative no sir it's not same . I use all og tags but it share title and description but not share og image please help me to solve this . I develope in asp.net .
My case is the total opposite, when shared a product to Facebook from my store, it shows my Wepsite logo instead of the product images.
Any solution to that?
I'm not sure what you mean by opposite, I think this answers your question?
@@PeeAyeCreative I mean when I shared products from my e commerce store, it show my website logo instead of the product image I shared. I hope it's more clear now :)
Well I was searching for this now I can Rick roll my friends
Nice
Nice
Thanks
How do you do this with Pure Html and CSS? no wordpress?
This is a WordPress tutorial, so that question is not relevant to this video.
@@PeeAyeCreative I understand thats not what I was asking. I meant how do i do it without Wordpress thanks for the response though I already figured it out. use a few meta property tags in your head. Seems like I aggravated you by asking you a simple question not a good way to gain subs. I will make sure I don't leave any comment next time or skip the channel
@@PeeAyeCreative You should also put Wordpress on your video title it mentions nothing about this being Wordpress specific
Is there any way to do it on iPhone?
I'm not sure what you mean.
@@PeeAyeCreative Nevermind, I will get a computer pretty soon and I will watch it again
How change for linkedIn
can you show us
This tutorial 😉
How to do this for shopify?
I really don't have any clue sorry.
Rank Math does not give me social option to add photo
They definitely do, that's very standard. Try checking with their support if you don't see it.
Thanks bro I was able to kill 2 stones with one bird today!
Jk just having fun, thanks for the vid!

I guess this comment is a suggested size for the image.
@@PeeAyeCreative hi sorry for the confusion. i was commenting to myself about the image size you suggested which works for desktop sharing on FB and other but for sharing to FB on mobile, the Thumbnail Image is cut off in a square shape. i managed to design around the cutting off. Your advise for clearing cache was a great tip! i was having that exact problem. Thanks
what if i didnt make my website with wordpress?
This tutorial is about WordPress so I wouldn't know about anything else.
