This joint brings pure tears of joy down my face. I remember rolling into the house from the club about 5:30 am Saturday mornings only to do it all again Saturday night.
I agree 100% . music today have deluted to a point is not even worth of turning the radio sometimes...SO Glad i was able to experience the best years of house music in NYC...!!!! the young generation have no idea.........
I HAVE TO AGREE "LOVE SO SPECIAL" WAS THE THEME AT CLUB MIRAGE AND ZANIZBAR DOWNTOWN NEWARK, NEW JERSEY BUT AT THE UNDERGROUND, BONDS INTERNATIONAL, THE GARAGE, MELLONS, GOTHEMS AND CLUB MARS THIS IS WERE UNDERGROUND HOUSE MUSIC WENT TO A WHOLE NEW LEVEL AND DIMENSION. THIS WAS PARTY CENTRAL DJ. GEMINI
I was in the Roxy in NYC new years eve 90/91,16 years old and met a beautiful girl from chicago, whose name I don´t remember, she told me I was unbelievable.....the music was like that al night. Good then and now.
You are so right all. I can see see Tony Humphries spinning this track in one his mixes down at Zanzibar. I'm happy to see my son enjoys deep soulful house like his old man. Thanks for posting this track up.
Zanzibar,Newark,NJ miss those days, even though by the early 90's my days at the Zans as would we call it was over.I was married with two children by then.
Oh My Lord This sooo cool and fab!! Why aren't today's DJ's playing this??? They are letting this music die. This is wrong. This is the greatest legacy of soul music and dance music and it is laying fallow in the dark. This is wrong and needs to change. Demand change. Boycott your local clubs and DJ's and make it known you want this music back.If it weren't for RUclips how would we find this??? Saw it in the side bar recommendations thankfully! Great song!
Just love the way when you look up a song You Tube lists all these others in the same or similar genre with the little thumbnail pic next to it..then you can save to your favorites and also send to your friends it all just works I just need the time to figure out how to buy these and get them saved to something to listen while on the go and to share love RUclips thank you You Tube has some of the most gone into obscurity songs.. the fact that they have almost been lost to obscurity shows how damaged and corrupt the music industry is..
Lisa Fiel I took a load of songs off you tube and burnt to a disk for my brothers funeral but ya cant share the disk on to facebook great for a player c.d computer etc
The fact is that no one does these playlists better than RUclips which is why when researching songs this isTHE place to go..whoever is behind digging into the archive and getting these fab classics up for us to access THANK YOU and thank you RUclips Pandora and Spotify or those others just don't have it organized like this..nor do the others have the vast choice and archive that one finds here so many songs almost into obscurity where it not for RUclips we would not be able to be reminded of them or recall them, RUclips is JUST THE BEST..
+Desiree, I believe all the gay clubs back in the 70's & 80's sprinkled baby powder on the dance floor. Catacombs in Philly, Traxx & The Club House in DC, The Hypo in Baltimore & of course Better Days in NYC, just to name a few. Thanks for helping me go back down memory lane! YEEEZZZZ....
My fave mix is the one Tony H used to rock...raw original demo version that Renato hit him up on reel. It had the 909 hi hat so bright and in your face. I love riding vocals over it to this day.
geeeeeeeeeeeez those where the days when a chewn like so special put a big smile on peoples faces wicked timeless chewn back stil to this day for id still spin this given the chance 4real
Gothem west was octagon on west 34th st.. then later know to be egotrip.. Gothem west opened when studio 54 closed and little louie vega took the party there...good times... real times..
Linda Clifford's Runaway Love has 482,089 views..obviously a lot of people love this song and many other songs from the classic vocal house era and yet the obnoxious radio station industry never plays these fab songs only the commercial top 40 drivel banal annoying irritating stupid dumb music that people dislike
All the Zanzibar, Mirage, Cheetahs, Soul Kitchen and Shelter heads go get you pollazo's, high top fades, door knocker earrings and baby powder and lets party the real way, without fighting and shooting up the club and have some fun and go get a long island ice tea.....taking it way back to the real club days of just honest to goodness FUN!!!!!!!
OMG! The Colorbox , 1989 on north highland Avenue. Atlanta Georgia!!!
