    Man, I am so sorry that you are struggling with the trees on your finca. I hope the Marco Magic comes through for you.

      So far it’s helped with many of the problems but the caterpillars were unfazed by it and required I use another method. Overall, it was worth it and helped but it wasn’t a complete solution like Marco insisted.

    It's a shame Marco is selling his place, he seems like a really good dude and is very knowledgeable, he's a real one for helping you. Hopefully you'll stay in contact with him regardless and that his proprietary sauce for the trees is successful on the market.

      Yeah, Marco is awesome. He says he wants a smaller property like mine, that is not as much work. He’s traveled around the world a bit working in the music industry, so I suspect in the long run once he cashes out he’ll go overseas.

      No. I’m not a salesman. It’s not my thing. I will happily help a neighbor find a buyer but I am not interested in making money selling, for the same reasons you don’t see me doing sponsored videos for VPN services and products on Amazon. There is an inherent conflict of interest between sharing honesty with my audience and selling to my audience. I would happily work as a real estate “consultant” if someone wanted, working for some low daily rate to drive someone around and give them advice, but the working as an agent for a commission provides an incentive to sell even if it’s not in the buyer’s best interest. Years ago when I was young and desperate I had a job at a used car lot. This place hired 30 people at a time. I was one of two that made the cut. I sold some ridiculous Honda Prelude to a young couple for an 8k profit. I quit the next day. Am I able to sell? Yes. Do I want to live like that? No. Not even if I’m poor and hungry. My integrity is worth more. All that said, I appreciate you for trying to call it out. This sort of corrupting pressure is constant and we all need to see it for what it is and speak up. Yes. Please. Hold me accountable. I expect no less.

    Do you have a listing on Marcos land ?

    • @FallofftheMap
      @FallofftheMap  3 месяца назад

      No, I don’t think he’s listed it publicly. Like many properties here they tend to be sold by word of mouth. I have his telephone number so if you want I could put you in touch with him directly.

    Do you have a guess what his annual net profit might be on avocados? Not sure how many avos he can produce a year, but I would think the profit per avo is not high on the local market with MegaMaxi. Would take a long time to recoup $1.5M. Of course there is other value in the property.

    • @FallofftheMap
      @FallofftheMap  5 месяцев назад

      I have no idea what his profit is. In Ecuador the value is almost always in the land. There are a few groups of avocado farmers that export to the U.S. and likely have decent profits even after shipping costs. For the most part, farmers in Ecuador are pretty poor, unless they have a hacienda and are into cacao, cattle, palm oil, flowers, or shrimp for export the markets. The prices consistently fluctuate. At the moment cacao is expensive while the flower and shrimp markets are struggling.

    what did Marco say about water???

    • @FallofftheMap
      @FallofftheMap  5 месяцев назад +1

      He mentioned that in areas like ours where it rains heavily it’s important to have good drainage. Also, I misspoke in the video. The 20l bottle he sold be treats 1000 liters of water.

    The product you’re talking about sound a lot like Photosynthesis Plus. They call it an ecosystem in a bottle.

      It’s not a product that is yet on the market. Marco is pretty protective over what goes into it. I know there are various bacterial based products out there. I don’t know yet what is different about his. It definitely smells like sulfur. Since his trees are the healthiest I’ve seen I’m going to truest that he’s onto something and try it out.

      @@FallofftheMap I just remember trying that stuff on my avocado tree a few years ago and it had a vary interesting smell. Kinda how you described his stuff. I started to like the smell after a few applications when I seen how much it helped my plants. Getting local enzymes and bacteria is probably a smarter move.

      I will definitely see if I can find the product you’re talking about and compare it with what I bought from Marco. It’s possible he made something very similar.

      @@FallofftheMap if you’re interested here are a few people on RUclips I’ve learned a lot from about everything growing. Harley smith is probably one of the best horticulture teachers on the planet. He has a wealth of knowledge for free on RUclips and he also has an online horticulture university as well. Bruce bugbee is head of horticultural research at Utah State University and also has good free content too. Also Dr Elaine is kinda the queen when it comes to the soil food web. I don’t know how much you know about horticulture but if you are anything like me it will help a lot. I was a monkey smashing stones together when I started growing so I needed all the help 😆
