This is so timely for me, I lost my mom last year to cervical cancer and it was the most devastating thing. We were so close like sisters. SO thank you for this conversation it helped me a lot.

It’s so unique how all the ladies fill up the gap even if someone is absent. Like they all bring out the character of the person we’ve missed and they do it for everyone. For example if Pumla missed there’s a way they’ll all bring out her character so that we don’t over miss her as we would. Rosette we pray God strengthens you in those moments when you feel weak dear.
Indeed losing a mother is the hardest test one can ever go through 😢 i really resonate with you rosette, but i just can't hesitate to mention that i admire your positiv energy, strength and resilience. May God protect you.
I lost my mum in 2009 but it still feels like yesterday 😢. The pain doesn't fade away
Then theres me who lost mine 20 yrs ago but cant hold back tears as I speak about her...I admire your strength Rosette❤❤
I relate with everything, cancer diagnosis (stage 4), mulago experience, the hope of beating the cancer and most especially, the delight of taking care of mummy until her last breath, coming to 8years, but i still remember everything like it was yesterday...but am grateful i got to spend the last few months of her life with her. It was the most precious, lovely and fulfilling experience.

I lost my mum in August last year but the pain is so deep I don’t know weather I will ever be the same again

Losing a mum is indeed one of the worst things..i saw my mum silently live in excruciating pain for weeks and finally finding rest and i felt more relief than sadness to be honest. I miss her every single day of my life but remembering what she rested from, am comforted. May the Lord continue comforting you Rosette and your family.

I have truelly cried ,I saw my grandmother of 83 plus suffer from cancer.....its so emotional....we need friends, husbands,wives to stand with us in such moments
Hugs Rosetta. I nursed my mom for a couple of weeks and she slid into a comma . I was exhausted and the night her aunt and sister came to stand in for me the night she went. I was comforted that Mummy loved me so much and couldn't rest in my vicinity. But I was delighted to have cared for her in her last days .

Dear Rosette its so sad for the loss of your mum....On Behalf of Hospice Africa Uganda it feels so bad that we have people dying in pain yet we have a pain relief, so i would like to call everyone who is having a patient esp. cancer patients in chronic pain to come and visit us in Makindye.

Rosette' s story reminds me of my late mum. The difference is that i didnt get a chance to take care of her, it was sudden but i guess God knows us so well that he knew may be i would not take it. I don't like to see my lived ones suffer in pain. I guess most times im thankful to God that she will never have to look into her children's graves. Its a blessing for a parent not to have to burry their children. For this i thank God.
Grief is truly a process it's been 8 years now. I told my self that the day i listen to Judith babirye's song ' mama' and i dont fall apart i know i will have completed my grief season. Thankfully God iss close to the broken hearted.

A mother is everything!Its been 15 years since I lost my lovely mother but I still cry just thinking of her.But am glad she created memories with you that make you happy and strong.Payers for Dad because it won’t be easy 😢my own dad struggles because of loneliness he has never gotten over his wife.Grief never goes away but we have to move on!
My own story of spiritual presence was last year when I was giving birth to my daughter from Belgium had no help apart from the midwives and my husband.I was in labor the whole night with my mums photo next to me at one point I could feel her presence and I still do because it’s been Gods blessing and her presence 🙏 keeping me safe.
Absolutely true Pumla. My dad cried and he concealed it as the red eye illness . He was distraught and guess what ....he died a year later after we buried mom. I feel family should hold it stronger for widowers .
Rossette I feel you because exactly what you went through is what I went through with my mom since 2021 and exactly at the beginning of last year I almost lost my mom but it's by God's grace that she's still alive up to now. Rossette I feel you. May God bless and comfort you.

@rosette! You were so blessed to have a loving caring mother. Some of us are struggling and grieving for our living mothers. I brought my mother abroad only for her to badmouth me to people back home. She brought me against my siblings, she made it seem like I hadn’t been giving her enough after seeing our house, vehicles and just simply the life I live here. Moms like yours melt my heart❤

Dear Rosette, Thanks for sharing your story. I was just in tears remembering the death of my own mother to cancer. She actually passed away at UCI one day into my final exams at campus. I totally understand and relate with all the emotions and trauma that comes with having a loved one battle cancer and eventually loose them. I appreciate your courage to re-live that experience. One of the things I struggle with post her death is "cancer anxiety". I do not know if you have felt that and how you have dealt with that. I didn’t get to be there while she was ill or even speak to her let alone lay her to rest! Trying to cope with life without her but it’s a struggle every waking day especially being a young mother without a mother.
