foppo leeuwerke I had that problem today, but you have to keep going up and down in the water and then you have to keep going up and down fast getting the gravel I think. That’s how I did it anyway lol I’m new to the fish thing

In between vacuuming and water changes, I swirl the water making a lot of gravel dirt and debris float. The exterior filter removes a lot of that mess.

you have to move the hose up and down over the rocks till the water siphons ... dont forget to hit a fish.
It has to do with using gravity to increase and decrease the water pressure going into the hose in order to form a vortex up the tube so that water from the top container drains into the lower container....or something along those lines. The straighter the drain hose downwards out of the top tank the more force the vortex inside of the tank will have too. Gold prospectors use to use this same method to dredge areas they can't get to otherwise. They call it a gravity dredge.

You can also suck the water through the tube to get it started if you can't get it to flow

Lord, i been vacuuming the gravel wrong, starting the vac wrong, just WRONG lol N make sure you keep an eye on the bucket as it fills up before you have to ask yourself if its raining outside lol

Jose Telles same. My never moves through picking up gravel that gently. The whole tube fills up and gets stuck. Then I gotta shake the gravel loose and do it again. Maybe I just suck at it 🤷♂️
Scott Fisher moving the bucket higher up so its closer to the tank can help by making the siphon flow more gentle

It wont. The suction is too weak, but even if it does just take it out of the bucket. Itll be okay.

you gotta get all the air out first, friends. tilt it upwards underwater and watch the air bubbles reach the surface.
So incase someone is struggling. Once you've got it filled with water, shake the tube like 5 times. Don't let it get above the water level though.

Damien Levitt you have to go fast so it doesn't suck up water too fast. But after practice you will get better :)
get a smaller vacuum with a smaller tube that doesn't move so much water at once.

The fish tanks in the US pet store always have dead fish in them and the water is usually nasty 🤢
I believe that's everywhere that has fish tanks. The fish aren't going to walk out of the tank to die. Of course fish die in the tank. The issue is some places aren't good about keeping up with taking them out. But i promise you, every country has fish die in their store tanks. That's life and death for you. When you get your own fish, they'll die in a tank too. Get them out too late and other fish might dine on them. Circle of life, pretty natural.

EXACTLY, THIS CLEANER IS PURE JUNK!!! DIDN'T WORK AT ALL.
I use an Aqueon version, but if you hear that click. It has the one way valve that makes it work. Without that it won't work with any siphon.
get one with a hand pump..or siphon it like they used to siphon gas. Put a cloth between the tube and your mouth and suck. it doesn't take a lot to start a vacuum. Remove your lips long before the water is even near them. Still, I recommend a hand pump.
Chad Szott I have a hand pump on mine and it wasn’t working I had to take it off then do the mouth thing.

Only a question, I have a special plants gravel in the bottom's gravel, so... How can I do to don't mix both gravels? One is white (normal gravel) and the other is black (plants gravel) thanks!
According to my experiance pumping much better instead of shaking... shaking scaring fish and failing percentage is very high.

Hi, nice vid, 1 thing though i have a planted tank with aquairon sand by oliver knott. So sand isnt as easy to clean as gravel cause you cant do a deep clean as sand is lighter than gravel so gets sucked up. .it seems the shop you work at only has gravel substrates, so you cant do a thorougher demo on all types of substrates. So i might have to look elsewhere. Thanks all the same for how to vid
