she did the 1.5 during podium training before this routine. i think she just wants to have performed both on the podium.

Hey, I really don't think she took it out tho. I really just think she improvised at last second. She did the full turn and she was almost already going past the correct handstand position on top of bar b4 the next Giant. So she did the other 1/2 turn in the next giant on top of bar into the piked jaeger. Which was smart (especially if this happened in competition). She usually is past her full turn and going into the last half turn of the 1.5 turn, when she's still not vertical position on top of bar. She was a little slower this time so i think she just decided to add a giant and include the halfturn needed to go into piked jaeger, rather than risk the big past handstand pirouetting deduction. If she put the other half turn in right there for a 1.5 then she would've likely incurred an even more significant deduction if this was competition. Cuz judges go apeshit on short handstands on upstarts and pirouettes being done right vertical on top of bars lolol. She HAs really become a very formidable All Arounder behind Biles. She has gotten better & better this year as she has gotten over her last bad injury. I don't even believe we have seen the BEST OF Sunisa Lee yet. She is still growing and this competition will really give her even more confidence then she already has. Still another year to get under her belt before Olympic Games. And if she's healthy I cannot see her NOT being on the 4 member team. Along with locks Simone Biles and Jade Carey.

Like the others are saying, the increase in E-score will outweigh the decrease in D-score for downgrading Tina 1.5. She’s finished the 1.5 almost parallel to the ground without fail

I really hope she ditches the 1.5 pirrouete because the deductions woukd be higher than the value of the skill, but i wish her the best she is so talented , hopefully a gold will be within her grasp

Ali Kh Pak + Maloney will be there, she looked a little too rotated on the Pak to connect. I hope she puts the 1.5 back in, it’s worth 0.2 more, meaning getting a tenth off on the 1.5 would be better than not doing it. No promises that the 1.5 would be only a tenth off though... I really wish she just put a stalder full in front of the Van Leeuwen, and get rid of the 1.5. Same D, and can more easily land in handstand
TheGymSavant i wish she started her routine with her half turn to piked jaeger! Then did the Nabieva connection and then did van leuwenn and ended with toe full+ full in dismount! Same d as 1.5 and she would have to do that stupid cast half....
