Then as a guitarist who plays for book trailers I like learning writers' process since that helps me understand stories/characters when I interpret & represent them w/ original guitar so your confessions are very intriguing. I had a hard time writing the romantic stuff. I am socially awkward so it was really hard for me. I took a 3 month break from my book reading and watching a bunch of romance stuff to try to understand the format. I ended up just making it awkward like myself. I did end up getting pretty good with it however in my companion novel. I do not think I would ever want to visit my world… I made it very dark and evil. If I was sucked into it I would avoid the immortal sea at all cost. Oh and the forgotten library.
About filling the plot hole- Can your characters really levitate ANYTHING, like even a very heavy stone? If not, I would assume that whatever the person can levitate, the force required to levitate it is applied by the same person. Hence, they need to push up anything for it to levitate, and the thing will push them down. Newton's action and reaction law. So, they can't levitate themselves for the same reason that any person in real life cannot lift their own self off the ground (for extended period of time, that is, by not actually jumping), although a person CAN lift another person.
You got it! And no, they can't levitate anything, there's a limit to the amount of power a person can have/use, depending on their natural magic strength, and training/practice.
