Believe it or not I traded in an Audi A4 for a 2013 Ford escape titanium and I love love love it. It's been a superb car... I love the interior finish... seats super super comfortable... gets good gas mileage ... handles well and it's the most handsome crossover on the road as far as I'm concerned. Two thumbs up for the four escape

Bought one of the first Santa Fe Sport 2.0T FWD back in Sept 2012. Have had it on several 1k plus mile trips. It continues to stand out for its quiet and composed ride, this thing eats up interstates in max comfort. Nearly 20k miles in and not even a little squeak or rattle. Getting 27/28 MPG hwy at around 75 mph fully loaded with family and gear. Keeping ECO mode off around town yields better throttle response with no real drop in mpg. Have owned VW's in the past but recent styling and cheap interior material made us look elsewhere.....Glad we did!
Ford Escape hands down! Wife and I test drove Rav4, CRV, Equinox, and Santa Fe. Escape feels more nimble and sporty. Solid ride in the Escape. Plus, it is American made, by an American manufacturer!
Sorry, but even though I like the Santa Fe and I think the Escape is good option for small crossover, that is not a fair comparison for the Escape. The Ford Escape is not in the same segment with the Santa Fe, actually the direct competitor from Hyundai for the Escape is the Tucson. The Santa Fe is a Midsize SUV/Crossover. I really dont she the point...
Well if these cars cost similar then why cant you see the point? If you had 25k to spend on a vehicle, you woyld look at different vehicles at those prices rather than worrying about class... basically hyundai wants to sell santa fe a little less expensive and you shouldn't complain...
It is not about the price... I see the category... For example, a Ford F-150 may cost up to 51k, and if you compare it with any premium car like a BMW or Audi around that same price, it will not be a fair comparison because they wont be in the same segment, not as you said that based on the price range, the comparison is fair. You got it? I insist, the comparison is not fair, they are in two differenty segments and oriented to two different customers.

You wont go up to a santa fe owner and tell him/her its not fair you got that at same price as escape but thats much bigger... lol... life's not fair...
I have an escape. So far I love it. it feels sporty to drive and puts a smile on my face. I haven't drove the Santa fe, but I sat in one and didn't like the quality of the interior. The leather Hyundai uses isn't very good quality. plus it tends to be real slick feeling. I felt as if I'd slide all over the place.
i can think of a reason why the sante fe is bigger in every dimension compared to the Ford. Hmm... O yea, this competes against the Ford Edge. The Hyundai Tuscon competes with this
Santa Fe is an excellent vehicle, I own one. Our friends own the fully loaded Escape, and actually enjoy our SUV more. The vehicles are not really in the same segment but share the same price, so that says a lot about the Santa Fe's value. The interior is much larger. Fords Sony system is a real highlight for the Escape as well as some of the passive safety features the Santa Fe doesn't offer. Overall I agree, the Santa Fe offers so much for a fair price. My heated steering wheels is so nice on a freezing morning and the cooled seats for the summer is a must have. Also, not mentioned is Hyundai's excellent warranty that is almost double that of the Ford in terms of duration and milege.
I feel very sad. Because my Volvo S60 T6 R-Design costs $230,000 here (in Singapore), and it must be scrapped after 10 years or pay for a certificate that costs about $70,000 now to drive for another 10 years. Be glad that you do not have such nonsense over there.
Interesting comparison of features and performance during the first few thousand miles of driving. You conveniently ignored the fact that the Ford would start costing you thousands in repairs after 6-7 years for leaking seals, rusting brake rotors, transmission failure, oxygen sensors, wheel bearings, this list goes on. Most manufacturers have figured out that they need to offer a car that has attractive features and performs well on a test drive. The difference here is that the Ford will be ready for the scrap pile while you are still just changing the oil on the Hyundai. Feedback welcomed

Re-read my comment again. I said SantaFe Sport is compact (a size smaller than regular Santa Fe) so it would go against Escape/Edge and Murano. The Edge is a pothole between compact and midsize and doesn't have much competition. Regular Santa Fe is midsize so it would indeed go up against Explorer, Pathfinder, Highlander, Traverse, etc...
i hate these classifcations lol :P in my opionon the santa fe looks wider and bigger, a better comparison to the edge. but then again the two santa fes are both positioned in awkward sizes compared tothe classified sizes by the EPA.
The escape has a panoramic roof option as well, but these two fail to mention that. Also, as mentioned below, the escape is supposed to be a smaller option, the edge or expedition are more comparable to the sante fe (personally I think it's too big, like a minivan. i would prefer the smaller vehicle) As for the foot gate, if you never find yourself carrying lots of stuff, skip on in, but i would love it when i'm loading my vehicle up. I don't agree that the Santa Fe is small enough to be considered a CUV. Though the price may be similar to the Escape, the Santa Fe is 6" longer. The the Tucson is a closer competing CUV to the Escape.

It's a nice car all around, but I doubt its reliability and durability, even though with their 100k miles warranty. I've heard many complaints from Hyundai customers about the rattling noises from their cars after few years of ownership.
Oh hell no. This Ford Escape Is a COMPACT crossover and the Santa Fe sport is a midsize crossover. And even if this was a comparison against the Hyundai Tucson versus the Ford Escape you buy a compact suv/crossover for the size. Compact.
absolute GOOFS on here trumping up there Hondas, lol do a little research, the new model Hyundais finish light years ahead in reliabilty and fit and finish ratings, #3rd overall by JDPower and countless others...while Honda isnt even top 15 anymore. Take your heads out of your butt guys, unless the guy is buying a 2002 Honda accord, stay the hell away from Honda, nothing but recalls and shoddy transmissions, do some research
Just compare Ford to Hyundai, and Hyundai will always lose. Something with their sensors/lights/fuses Always go wrong and become unfixable. Good old Ford
Are you guys serious, Did you forget that the Hyundai Tucson exists? The actual competitor for the Escape, the Santa Fe is not an entry level CUV, so no wonder its bigger!! jeez!!
I do agree with you, however the Edge would be a much more suitable comparison for the Santa Fe Sport. They should have at least mentioned that they are in different size classes.
Ford Escape is equaled to Focus equivalent to hyundai creta Ford Explorer Is Equaled to Taurus Ford Explorer and Flex Equivalent to Hyundai santa fe and grand santa fe But Ford Edge is 5 Seater Not 7 seater like santa fe
In the UK now 30 to 35 mpg is seen as poor 18mpg is ridiculous. Also you have petrol engines couple to automatics, low torque (petrol) and high revs (auto) is a recipe for poor drivability and terrible mpg especially fully loaded. Things you dont need are power tailgate and electric seats. Santa Fe auto box is awful however the chassis is very good. Santa Fe is the larger nicer car however would go for UK 2.2 inline 4 cylinder diesel with manual gearbox is best.
I just bought my mom a 2014 Ford Escape SE after SHE picked it over the Hyundai. It's almost as if these guys were paid by Hyundai to cut down the Ford Escape, using a stripped down model that doesn't compare to the loaded Santa Fe? HORRIBLE review.
I am amazed at your opinion on the acclearation of the Santa Fe. You said it is hesitant. I have a 2.0L Turbo and it is one of the most responsive compact SUV's I have driven. I was a mystery shopper and I drove quite a few vehicles. I test drove the Ford Escape and I thought it was lazy despite it's turbo engine. And I was not smoking anything, If you look at absolute numbers from Car & Driver the Santa Fe wins. Case closed.
Do you guys even know what you are doing? The Santa Fe isn't in the same class as the Escape. You should have compared the Santa Fe to the Edge. Did Hyundai pay for this or something? I don't see how so many other people realized your huge mistake, but you didn't.
Geez! Since we're doing this pathetic comparison, why don't we compare an Explorer to an Accent then make the Explorer the winner since "it's roomier". Seriously, this comparison was shit.
Its funny how manufacturer offers you a "technology" package which cost here 11000$ !! I mean who wants a stone age package !! This is way too much to make more money out of you

+alexgrazie93 Why yes, it is. When Ford wanted to redesign the Escape, I guess they turned to Ford UK and looked at the Kuga and said "Hey, That looks like futuristic Escape" and the rest is Ford Brilliance History
This is insane comparison, bull shit autoguide u guys gone nuts Ford Escape competes with Tucson not Santafe at first secondly how the hell is that Escape has a bad ride quality, I have driven Escape a lot and its ride is sure stiff but way softer and accommodating than the Mazda CX-5,VW Tiguan which jarr ur bones and its super comfy at highway speeds where the SAntaFes soft suspension makes the car bob and pitch over undulations (makes passengers feel nausea if driven 2 fast as well) Interior quality of Escape is too equal to SantaFe its built tough like a tank and cabin is super quiet with exception of little bit wind and road noise which I cant complain off cuz its got wider tires and its much more faster car Escape averaged 21 mpg same as lighter crappier 265HP SantaFe Escapes AWD is light years better than SantaFes which feels like a gimmick Escape Sony Audio system is lightyears better than Hyundais tin can feeling music system Escape has way way better driving position as well,SantaFe is better for back passengers though And as a compact SUV Escape,Mazda CX-5,Tiguan are the best Escape balances the qualities of Mazda and Tiguan better as well, no wonder its best selling compact SUV when 2015 EDGE is out the SAntaFe is better off dead , new EDGE is leagues and mighty light years ahead of SantaFe,
U r completely wrong stripes, the escape/kuga is based on fords global c platform which includes ford focus as its mentor which itself is an eveolution of a design that ford developed during 1999 to seperate ford escort and sierras,i am sure a fan of fast fords but if a ford car sucks i agree to it like ford taurus, current gen edge, etc sucks But escape is of european standards, what i nean with tank like built quality is the feeling of solidity when inside cabin, when driven the chassis feels super strong and taut compared to hyundai which feels light weight Just try closing door of hyundai and ford side by side listen to the thud sound, ford has a deeper and much more solid sound compared to tin can feeling hyundai About jeremys statement, yeaa the interiors were not good specially for ford cars in that era and for pure american designed and built cars, the sotuation has changed a whole lot since 2008,now fords interiors are in competition with VW german built cars, its in that league,
Whatever awards it may win,i was commenting about equal levels of quality refinement features etc and RIDE QUALITY which Autoguide quoted bad compared to hyundai, the same guys told escape rides superbly in some other reviews and now they say its bad,its taut but never bone jarring stiff, its quiet but notnpin drop silence inside escape, escapes steering feel precision etc makes the car more engaging and much much more safe feeling to drive compared to life less driving chara of hyundai and even though escape being a car down the league is good enough or better than hyundai in lot of aspects,no wonder escape became 2nd best selling SUV in USA within a mere 1 year of its sale in USA,
***** Well I complained about only certain points like quietness, ride quality, comfort, handling And anybody in the auto business know which car does these things best, its Ford /Mazda/VW all other brands have practicality in their hands but tellin that having a responsive steering is a pain is blunder,A car thats rated just 240 HP faster and more efficient than a 265 HP Hyundai isnt a bad point,a better gearbox, firm yet unsettled ride, etc aint bad at all, here if the Autoguide winner is Hyundai its because its a car of a higher league, bring Escape vs Tucson and Tucson has no chance even before the 1.6 ecoboost Escape
***** Seriously its the exact opposite thats happening here in Asia,I live in Asia and here Hyundai is considered as a cheap alternative to Suzuki, thats it, the brand image possessed by Hyundai here is the same image possessed by Samsung, it shows off a lot and boasts a lot but after a few years it falls apart and nobody cares about it Also there is something called built quality,Hyundai is cheap and built like tin cans,it feels as if one can press into the car with good force whereas Ford/VW cars are built solid even though their(Fords) interiors arent as fit as Hyundais they have a much higher reputation of safety, better handling, better stable, better built cars, I cant make u believe the Asian people mindset but its a fact if uwant u believe, still Hyundai sells 2x -3x times Ford cars sell out here in Asia cuz they are dead cheap 2 buy and run, even cheaper than Toyotas,so what the second hand market is filled with Hyundais and Suzukis Ford cars have average to high reliability record in Asia a little lower than what VW has, GM is like cheap Toyota and has no image at all, In China GM is 2nd biggest seller cuz they have a whole lot of sister brands and a lot of cars that are exact replicas of what Toyotas make but with GM engines badges etc, but Ford/Skoda/VW etc are brands that has only few cars and are unique and thy dont necessarily aim at competing wth Hyundai/Honda/Toyota etc they just provide a difference in the segment, VW in the form of premium entry luxury cars and Fords in the form of poor mans drivers cars(Ford is nick named poor mans BMW in Europe and Asia) I dont wanna boast but I have driven lot of cars, and the best car I have driven is sure a Porsche itself a Cayman S, but why I like Ford is cuz with less money one can buy 1 of best handling FWD cars which dosent sacrifice comforts features economy etc, like STs,RS,and a lot of nice diesel cars like Mondeo/Fusion Focus diesel with 163 HP etc where there is lot of power and yet frugal, Hyundais diesels are good but no where near as good as TDCis
***** I currently stay in India and if posible take the website of Hyundai India and u ll see cars like Eon,i10,Grand i10,Xcent,Verna,Elantra All the aforementioned cars are built like tn cans when compared to VW,Fords in same price range, its only the SantaFe and the new Sonata that has what it takes to rival a VW,Ford So the word tin can I know Hyundai is a good brand I again repeat my point of comment in the video was the aspects of good handling, more power, more mileage and a feature loaded Escape is still not a rival to SantaFe, its to Tuscon and Ford being a car of lower class is not spacious, not practical enough as Hyundai, make the comparison fair, compare an EDGE with a SantaFE and tell its demerits its acceptable and even still traits like handling, features, looks, mileage power etc are things that are ESCAPEs high points and it scores above SantaFE in that aspect , also ride quality of Escape isnt bad at all,l its stiff but not uncomfy in any situation like Autoguide said
Uhm the Ford Edge and Hyundai Sante Fe are competing not the Sante Fe and Escape. Get it right! The Hyundai Tucson and Escape are competing vehicles. This review is just garbage.
Well if Tucson can be had for 25k but ford escape at 38k I dont see how comparing those two would be even... and a person would not be choosing vehicles that are seperated by over 10 to 15 grands... budget drives sales so putting two cars that cost similar makes more real world sense than some catagory which puts vehicles with different price range...
Howie ch well the Escape and the Tucson are both $40k vehicles... not sure where you're getting this huge difference. The Edge and Sante Fe are priced similar and are similar sized. The Escape and Tucson are similar size and price. This is simply the wrong comparison.
Howie ch $37k is pretty close. And besides vehicle comparisons are for similar vehicles. Budget had nothing to do when doing comparo videos. They are to state the similarities and differences between 2 similar vehicles. So again... This comparo is wrong.
Swear dont ever ever ever own a ford escape there rubbish and crap, transmission problem and always oil leak and not to mention suspension goes in quickly

It's a nice car all around, but I doubt its reliability and durability, even though with their 100k miles warranty. I've heard many complaints from Hyundai customers about the rattling noises from their cars after few years of ownership.
BTW, a new sonata has been unveiled. So you might get a better deal on the 2014.
None, GET A MAZDA 6 !!
juan tafoya that thing sucks ass and its slow
This is the Ultimate Battle of the Dorks
Um the 2015 edge competes with this
Escape / KUGA is medium size SUV, pls check wiki/ internet as well.
Oh hell no. This Ford Escape Is a COMPACT crossover and the Santa Fe sport is a midsize crossover. And even if this was a comparison against the Hyundai Tucson versus the Ford Escape you buy a compact suv/crossover for the size. Compact.
Ford Escape all the way, dominating the Rav4, CRV, and now Sante Fe Sport
+Jom Gabriel #FordEscapeFTW and its the 2015 Best Selling SUV in Canada and The 5th Best Selling Car In Canada 2015
@@coastaku1954 on.
that thing dominates jack shit🤣🤣🤣
100% ford escape
100% going to catch fire
The Hyundai Santa Fe is better in my opinion.
Is the Santa Fe good at mud test
It is not a fair comparison. The escape is comparable to the Tuscon, and the Santa Fe to the Edge
Ford needs to put that mustang 2.7 in that.
Isn't Santa fe supposed to compete with the edge???
+RaisinBran28 yup, but sometimes you just have to compare 2 different class cars with each other....makes sense right?
Santa Fe is more appealing than the Ford compact SUV.
absolute GOOFS on here trumping up there Hondas, lol do a little research, the new model Hyundais finish light years ahead in reliabilty and fit and finish ratings, #3rd overall by JDPower and countless others...while Honda isnt even top 15 anymore.
The actual competitor for the Escape, the Santa Fe is not an entry level CUV, so no wonder its bigger!! jeez!!
Similar price... like in real world... budget dictates most car buyers...
I do agree with you, however the Edge would be a much more suitable comparison for the Santa Fe Sport. They should have at least mentioned that they are in different size classes.
Ford Escape is equaled to Focus equivalent to hyundai creta
Ford Explorer Is Equaled to Taurus
Ford Explorer and Flex Equivalent to Hyundai santa fe and grand santa fe
But Ford Edge is 5 Seater Not 7 seater like santa fe
In the UK now 30 to 35 mpg is seen as poor 18mpg is ridiculous. Also you have petrol engines couple to automatics, low torque (petrol) and high revs (auto) is a recipe for poor drivability and terrible mpg especially fully loaded. Things you dont need are power tailgate and electric seats. Santa Fe auto box is awful however the chassis is very good. Santa Fe is the larger nicer car however would go for UK 2.2 inline 4 cylinder diesel with manual gearbox is best.
BEGINNIG is at 3:20 :)
Hyundai is my biace
+ankhaa battulga #FordEscapeFTW
I just bought my mom a 2014 Ford Escape SE after SHE picked it over the Hyundai. It's almost as if these guys were paid by Hyundai to cut down the Ford Escape, using a stripped down model that doesn't compare to the loaded Santa Fe?
HORRIBLE review.
Bad comparison should be Escape and Tucson
I am amazed at your opinion on the acclearation of the Santa Fe. You said it is hesitant. I have a 2.0L Turbo and it is one of the most responsive compact SUV's I have driven. I was a mystery shopper and I drove quite a few vehicles. I test drove the Ford Escape and I thought it was lazy despite it's turbo engine. And I was not smoking anything, If you look at absolute numbers from Car & Driver the Santa Fe wins. Case closed.
Until the motor blows up.
Escape is way better than the Santa Fe Sport
I really need to unsubscribe ....
Huge
thank youuu
Do you guys even know what you are doing? The Santa Fe isn't in the same class as the Escape. You should have compared the Santa Fe to the Edge. Did Hyundai pay for this or something? I don't see how so many other people realized your huge mistake, but you didn't.
that lisp
The new Highlander is better than the Santa Fe.
Yup i want a diesel one 😭 but idk if it exist.
Highlander longer wheel base
Scott Woods i dont think theres a diesel, but they have a Hybrid Highlander which is very nice (:
I'd rather spend that much cash on a minivan
Say it! Don't spray it!
Grow tf up 🙄
Geez! Since we're doing this pathetic comparison, why don't we compare an Explorer to an Accent then make the Explorer the winner since "it's roomier". Seriously, this comparison was shit.
nicely done fellas
Santa Fe Sport. Bar none
What? David versus Goliath?
good
$38k for an escape? meh.
I know for 38K u could buy used 2014 Acura RDX lol....
Its funny how manufacturer offers you a "technology" package which cost here 11000$ !! I mean who wants a stone age package !! This is way too much to make more money out of you
Welcome to 2015, its not anymore 1995 so Hyundai ftw!
#FordEscapeFTW
Escape is way better i drive one
Comb je peux avoir vos coordonnées
AutoGuide please stop the lisp guy from reviewing cars, let him do anything but reviewing please, although he is performing good in front of the camera ,but still sooooooooooooo confusing, its all about pronunciation.
Its that Ford Kuga?
+alexgrazie93 Why yes, it is. When Ford wanted to redesign the Escape, I guess they turned to Ford UK and looked at the Kuga and said "Hey, That looks like futuristic Escape" and the rest is Ford Brilliance History
+alexgrazie93 yup, and its kinda funny because in some european countries, kuga=disease XD not the greatest name for a car :P
doi toi trung so trung doc dac 7 to trung nhieu lan mua nga mua cua mua xe hoi mo cong ty giau co thuong luu mai mai

All is good until the Hyundai engine comes apart or blows up.
you don't remember the cruise control indecent on these fords????
PLEASE GET RID OF THE GUY WITH THE LISP ITS SOO ANNOYING. PUT 2 NORMAL SOUNDING PEOPLE ON THERE I STRUGGLE TO WHATCH THIS. DOES ANYONE ELSE?
@kirbyswarp I'm pretty sure you can open it regularly as well
The VW Tiguan or Mazda CX-5 are better than either of them.
My winner is the Santa Fe. The FORD is just SH*T....even this comes with a Turbo.
Guys, charge This is arabexque" tight :‑[
This is insane comparison, bull shit autoguide u guys gone nuts
Ford Escape competes with Tucson not Santafe at first
secondly how the hell is that Escape has a bad ride quality, I have driven Escape a lot and its ride is sure stiff but way softer and accommodating than the Mazda CX-5,VW Tiguan which jarr ur bones and its super comfy at highway speeds where the SAntaFes soft suspension makes the car bob and pitch over undulations (makes passengers feel nausea if driven 2 fast as well)
Interior quality of Escape is too equal to SantaFe its built tough like a tank and cabin is super quiet with exception of little bit wind and road noise which I cant complain off cuz its got wider tires and its much more faster car
Escape averaged 21 mpg same as lighter crappier 265HP SantaFe
Escapes AWD is light years better than SantaFes which feels like a gimmick
Escape Sony Audio system is lightyears better than Hyundais tin can feeling music system
Escape has way way better driving position as well,SantaFe is better for back passengers though
And as a compact SUV Escape,Mazda CX-5,Tiguan are the best Escape balances the qualities of Mazda and Tiguan better as well, no wonder its best selling compact SUV
when 2015 EDGE is out the SAntaFe is better off dead , new EDGE is leagues and mighty light years ahead of SantaFe,
U r completely wrong stripes, the escape/kuga is based on fords global c platform which includes ford focus as its mentor which itself is an eveolution of a design that ford developed during 1999 to seperate ford escort and sierras,i am sure a fan of fast fords but if a ford car sucks i agree to it like ford taurus, current gen edge, etc sucks
But escape is of european standards, what i nean with tank like built quality is the feeling of solidity when inside cabin, when driven the chassis feels super strong and taut compared to hyundai which feels light weight
Just try closing door of hyundai and ford side by side listen to the thud sound, ford has a deeper and much more solid sound compared to tin can feeling hyundai
About jeremys statement, yeaa the interiors were not good specially for ford cars in that era and for pure american designed and built cars, the sotuation has changed a whole lot since 2008,now fords interiors are in competition with VW german built cars, its in that league,
Whatever awards it may win,i was commenting about equal levels of quality refinement features etc and RIDE QUALITY which Autoguide quoted bad compared to hyundai, the same guys told escape rides superbly in some other reviews and now they say its bad,its taut but never bone jarring stiff, its quiet but notnpin drop silence inside escape, escapes steering feel precision etc makes the car more engaging and much much more safe feeling to drive compared to life less driving chara of hyundai and even though escape being a car down the league is good enough or better than hyundai in lot of aspects,no wonder escape became 2nd best selling SUV in USA within a mere 1 year of its sale in USA,
***** Well I complained about only certain points like quietness, ride quality, comfort, handling
And anybody in the auto business know which car does these things best, its Ford /Mazda/VW all other brands have practicality in their hands but tellin that having a responsive steering is a pain is blunder,A car thats rated just 240 HP faster and more efficient than a 265 HP Hyundai isnt a bad point,a better gearbox, firm yet unsettled ride, etc aint bad at all, here if the Autoguide winner is Hyundai its because its a car of a higher league, bring Escape vs Tucson and Tucson has no chance even before the 1.6 ecoboost Escape
***** Seriously its the exact opposite thats happening here in Asia,I live in Asia and here Hyundai is considered as a cheap alternative to Suzuki, thats it, the brand image possessed by Hyundai here is the same image possessed by Samsung, it shows off a lot and boasts a lot but after a few years it falls apart and nobody cares about it
Also there is something called built quality,Hyundai is cheap and built like tin cans,it feels as if one can press into the car with good force whereas Ford/VW cars are built solid even though their(Fords) interiors arent as fit as Hyundais they have a much higher reputation of safety, better handling, better stable, better built cars, I cant make u believe the Asian people mindset but its a fact if uwant u believe, still Hyundai sells 2x -3x times Ford cars sell out here in Asia cuz they are dead cheap 2 buy and run, even cheaper than Toyotas,so what the second hand market is filled with Hyundais and Suzukis
Ford cars have average to high reliability record in Asia a little lower than what VW has, GM is like cheap Toyota and has no image at all, In China GM is 2nd biggest seller cuz they have a whole lot of sister brands and a lot of cars that are exact replicas of what Toyotas make but with GM engines badges etc, but Ford/Skoda/VW etc are brands that has only few cars and are unique and thy dont necessarily aim at competing wth Hyundai/Honda/Toyota etc they just provide a difference in the segment, VW in the form of premium entry luxury cars and Fords in the form of poor mans drivers cars(Ford is nick named poor mans BMW in Europe and Asia)
I dont wanna boast but I have driven lot of cars, and the best car I have driven is sure a Porsche itself a Cayman S, but why I like Ford is cuz with less money one can buy 1 of best handling FWD cars which dosent sacrifice comforts features economy etc, like STs,RS,and a lot of nice diesel cars like Mondeo/Fusion Focus diesel with 163 HP etc where there is lot of power and yet frugal, Hyundais diesels are good but no where near as good as TDCis
***** I currently stay in India and if posible take the website of Hyundai India and u ll see cars like Eon,i10,Grand i10,Xcent,Verna,Elantra
All the aforementioned cars are built like tn cans when compared to VW,Fords in same price range, its only the SantaFe and the new Sonata that has what it takes to rival a VW,Ford
So the word tin can
I know Hyundai is a good brand I again repeat my point of comment in the video was the aspects of good handling, more power, more mileage and a feature loaded Escape is still not a rival to SantaFe, its to Tuscon and Ford being a car of lower class is not spacious, not practical enough as Hyundai, make the comparison fair, compare an EDGE with a SantaFE and tell its demerits its acceptable and even still traits like handling, features, looks, mileage power etc are things that are ESCAPEs high points and it scores above SantaFE in that aspect , also ride quality of Escape isnt bad at all,l its stiff but not uncomfy in any situation like Autoguide said
You are comparing the wrong class of cars. The Escape should be compared to the Sportage. The Santa Fe should be compared to the Ford Edge / Everest.
This is simply the wrong comparison.
dustywm tucson is not 40k...
Howie ch $37k is pretty close. And besides vehicle comparisons are for similar vehicles. Budget had nothing to do when doing comparo videos. They are to state the similarities and differences between 2 similar vehicles. So again... This comparo is wrong.
dustywm price has much to do with comparos.. its what drives market...
Swear dont ever ever ever own a ford escape there rubbish and crap, transmission problem and always oil leak and not to mention suspension goes in quickly
