Chau Tran those hip issues are a bitch. I think there is a way to prevent it though, or at least prolong the onset. Takes alot of working out for the dog focusing on hind leg muscles. I notice alot of dogs with hip issues have small looking hind legs. My pup has thick hind legs, he spends about 30min a day dancing and walking on his hind legs and a bit of stair climbing. I think that is a major help for the hind leg muscles
@@swappedoutZ71 What breed/type is your pup that spends 30 mins a day walking on it's hind legs? Maybe I'm not interpreting it right, but regarding the prevention of hip issues by working out their hindquarters from an early age, other sources seem to say the complete opposite, in that say with a mastiff breed that is prone to hip issues, they say to take it really easy on them in the first 12 months or else it may exacebate the issue very seriously in life. My husband and I rescued a dog at 6 weeks old and discovered he is a Tosa. we have him with a behaviourlist and he has been amazing. Strong willed, strong physically but eager to please. Thanks for the great video
Yes, he is not the miseading type of breeder who just makes his breed sound like it comes straight from heaven and will suit any lambda owner. I dislike these types of people, I think it is important more breeders are honest about every aspect of owning the type of dog they sell. In my line of work I run into countless people who got a dog of specific breed without knowing much about what they imply and end up in day to day dog nightmare.
Thats true. But to each their own. Not everyone can own as many breeds as this dude owns, he owns a game bred American Pit Bull Terrier as well. To truly appreciate the game bred American Pit Bull Terrier is to fully understand and know the history of the breed, the individual dogs in the pedigree, the qualities for which they are bred, and the overall package. To me it is second to none, it doesn't matter if larger fighting breeds are able to whip a smaller pit bull...to me they are lb for lb the best and most athletic dog out there. And the ability to go for hours without quitting is their most sought after trait - gameness. Match dogs in the states are done at weight so comparing them to a Tosa is pretty difficult. You would have to have a large and game dog like Gr Ch Mayday(perhaps the most well known and best catchweight dog of all time) to stand a chance and I think he would have.
Javi Pena because this is a video about a fighting dog breed so the discussion is naturally always going to come up. Believe it or not there are people who believe dogs can enjoy fighting and if you've ever seen it you might think so too. Do you go around everywhere pointing out what you think they are doing wrong or is it just a youtube thing?
I’m curious what breed Brad hasn’t had. They should do a whole documentary on just his kennel, his purpose and his philosophy on dogs (breeding, training, etc.)
Ouroboros the strange thing about Boerboels is the bulkier ones are the most agile and quickest...they can run 32mph and are the most agile mastiff breed....and suprisingly the Tosa is kinda the same way, the bulky ones are usually technically more agile and faster
So proud of this! Thankful for you Brad appreciating all the work that has been done to keep these Tosa true in Japan and here. I can't wait to have my Musashi puppy! Spot on with the Boerboel comment. My boy is always under foot. Very needy, but in a good way. I prefer a dog that loves his humans since I have young kids. I may have an exception to the rule but my guy was pretty darn active as a pup. I had to slow him down a bit as it is recommended not to allow them to over exert themselves while young.

Warning. Both my male and female were high energy and very aggressive, especially toward other animals. Every other animal existed just so they could kill it, they believed. They would chew through or head butt down an eight foot wooden privacy fence to try and get to another dog. They were a constant potential liability and intimidated any visitors to the house. They loved and protected my family but they were not to be trusted around people outside the family.
I’ve had my First Mastiff which was a Presa Canario and loved him very much big boy black shiny coat little white chest. Miss him much here to research other breeds but looking into a Dogo Argentino for my family but still love Presa very much

Only one jump in 6 years but I guess I should make the gate higher, maybe the ups man will get out of the truck. LOL! Good vid!
Very interested in getting a tosa inu. Have always loved the breed. I want to get one from a blood line of champions. How much to these puppies go for if I was to get it from Japan
Hey Brad, I own a Tosa Inu myself. I was wondering how much does Musashi Weighs? My Tosa Inu is almost 11 months and she weighs about 120. Just wanted to know thank you :)
It's said there's no such thing as a dumb question but this might be a first. With all the different breeds of dogs you own, are they all on the same diet?
Our Dogos, Boerboel, and APBT are on Acana Singles (fish, lamb, or duck), our smaller dogs are on Fromm Gold Adult, and our big dogs are on Fromm Gold Large Breed Adult. We also feed raw when we can. We used to feed everyone Acana, but it got kinda outrageous with the price at ~$75/bag.
So we got what was marked as a Presa from a shelter but he looks like a bridle one of these. But like the guy said ours is VERY velcro, which makes me think maybe he really is a Presa

How do you go about importing a Tosa to Ontario, Canada? Obviously not for fighting, just a beautiful dog
Oh my God! A magnificent dog!!!!!!
Very interested in getting a tosa inu. Have always loved the breed. I want to get one from a blood line of champions. How much to these puppies go for if I was to get it from Japan
Fabulous!
Hey Brad, I own a Tosa Inu myself. I was wondering how much does Musashi Weighs? My Tosa Inu is almost 11 months and she weighs about 120. Just wanted to know thank you :)
Dranzei Verdadero - He's 140 - 150 pounds.
My Japanese friend owns a Tosa Inu named "Shogun"
Gorgeous Breed !
I was in Kochi in 2001 a TOSA weighed in at 126kg another 106kg. huge dogs...fighting dogs.
How would a Tosa match up against a Presa Canario...
Depends on the dogs... usually i would go for the Presa. But i never saw a Tosa in action
@@pennywise1682 Thanks for that.
Would brad ever mix gumbo to the smaller tosa Inu
killed it
This guy keeps saying it took him years to find the first dog then years to find the second 😂
Man they’re all over the place
Where are u seeing all these dogs 😅 it’s one of the rarest breeds in the world
Beautiful breed of dog
These and European Doberman are my favourite
What other dogs are specifically bred for dog fighting?
Game bred Apbt's from real dogmen.
Can you do another video for the Tosa Inu
what a legend
Beautiful dogs.
Can I breed Tosa male to bloodhound female?
So we got what was marked as a Presa from a shelter but he looks like a bridle one of these. But like the guy said ours is VERY velcro, which makes me think maybe he really is a Presa
