The Paid in Full soundtrack is from the movie with the same name, released in 2002. It came out on October 25, 2002, by Roc-A-Fella Records and Def Jam Recordings. The soundtrack is split into two discs. The first disc features old school hip hop and R&B songs, while the second disc includes new songs recorded by Roc-A-Fella. The album reached number 53 on the Billboard 200, number 10 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, and number 2 on the Top Soundtracks chart.

Damon Anthony Dash, born on May 3, 1971, is an American entrepreneur and record executive. He's famous for co-founding Roc-A-Fella Records with Jay-Z and Kareem Burke. Dash managed Jay-Z and was his business partner at Roc-A-Fella. In 1999, he organized a tour for Jay-Z that made $19 million. Their relationship turned sour after two events. First, Roc-A-Fella Records was bought by Def Jam Recordings in 2004, and Jay-Z became its president. Then, in late 2005, Jay-Z bought Dash's stake in Rocawear.

The 2000's was a patriotic time in Hip Hop before BLM. Destiny's Child even made a tribute song to soldiers in 2004 during the 2nd battle of Fallujah.
