    Thanks for the video. Also i see how loud the fan can get at full speed. I was thinking of swapping the fan for a quieter fan in the power supply.

    Pin 13 is 'PS_ON_L' and Pin 14 is 'PS_OFF_L' while Pin 15 = reserved (Not used) and Pin 16 is 'RETURN' which means return to ground, so you should be able to connect 13 to 16 to turn it on, it might require the resistor. This layout should apply to all models of D750E , D495E , and E1100E's

      Tried it, but it does require both 13 and 14 to be grounded or nothing happens.

    Nice video, thank you. Have you measured the DC voltages on the two biggest caps in the primary circuit when PSU is not connected with the resistor? I would like to know your results. Thanks

    What is the purpose of the resistor when jumping to 16? I've scoured all my scrap electronics, will have to order some resistors. I don't have any old enough electronics to have the through hole style resistors I can salvage. Just surprised the signal needs a voltage reduction.

    Hi Mahadevaswamy, thank you for sharing.
    I followed your instructions and it worked as in the video above.
    Now, three brief questions:
    1) What is the 330 ohms resistor doing and what would be a reasonable range for resistance?
    2) Why the fan turns on on high and slows down later?
    3) Do you have experience using multiple devices running more than 30A at once and not burning the PSU?
    Thank you

    Thanks for this video it will help me to power on my dell 1100 watts model E1100E-S0 question I would love to adjust the voltage also I see in a manual I have on the back of power supply where small pin starting from the right pin S22 remote sense - and S23 remote sense + i am wondering if those two pins controls the voltage from 12.20 to about 14.00 volts

    • @artofdoing220
      @artofdoing220  2 года назад

      remote sense function automatically increases/decreases the output voltage at the output terminals of the supply to compensate with heavy load currents/reduced load current. Typically 3% increase decrease happens.

      1, check for power cable 2, is the pin 13 and 14 shorted ? 3, is 13,14th pin connected to SMPS Body(ground)?
      Check above all with multimeter. If wrong connection made, SMPS will fail and will not Start. you can find the error LED glowing.
