Unbelievable how this guy strips the screws nearly every time he tightens them back in. This is NOT the fault of the screwdriver. Try to get it snug then give an extra turn with the screwdriver WITHOUT using power. Interestingly, my youngest son just got me the exact same set for Christmas but it is labelled as Salem Master so not sure who actually makes the hardware. Based on my personal experience with the set, everything seems to have that high-end type of quality and streamlining to it like I have seen from Apple computers, Lenovo X1 tablets, and some other well-packaged hardware.. Even the box/case it comes in feels nice and fits so snugly that it has a vacuum when you slide the inner box from the outside shell. It is a nice kit looking and nice feeling kit. Plenty of torque on the screw driver (as this guy shows).
I have one too. It is looking nice, but it is very impractical. Is slips in the hands and every time I grab it I touch the button and it rotates. Turning the screw by hand (without motor) not touching the button is difficult. Grabbing it more in the back, the sharp edges hurts. The light should be on without the motor turning, as I don't look for a hitting a screw with turning screwdriver. Once I hit the screw the light is not necessary anymore. It is very difficult to find the right bit in these tubes. I usually use the bits of another set, where visibility is better. Form follows function has been forgotten totally, unfortunately. I'll have to look for another one.
same experience tbh. the bits are shit cheap ones that strip easily too. I'll also be looking elsewhere for a better one but it works well enough to replace a regular screwdriver for hobby stuff and laptops, I see it as a ratcheting screwdriver with the added bonus of doing the peasant work of driving in and out screws once the hard bit at the end/start is done. shame it's so weak. honestly I wouldn't buy it again.
I appreciate your honesty.. Now a days every youtuber try to establish them self as an engineer or scientist.. Glad you stepped back and admitted you are human being.. 👍👍
I really enjoyed the mention of 'a gazillion screws', some stuff is screwed down so much it's unbelievable. Seems like a great bit of kit for electronics hobbyists.
It is . Next to me is a laptop I just openend . I count 37 screws. And that is for what I need to do with it now. There still are a lot more screws in it. And its not just the screwing, but also how you have to screw them. In . :P. To magnetize - demagnetize is really handy. So just before I was about to put it back together, I thought : "hey didn't I see a thing somewhere .. " That brought me here. Ordered one and gonna wait till its here before putting it back together again. :)
The bits are claimed to be S2 steel on aliexpress. I've no idea if that claim is true, however, if you've ever attempted to machine tool steel, you will certainly know that just about nothing is going to take the edge off of any of it. You can barely cut it with coated carbide.
The light should stay on a bit longer after you let go of the button, that way it'd actually useful, otherwise, it's useless if it's only lighting up once it started spinning
Hey, thanks for the clear and concise review and use of this Wowstick. I'm so sick of the reviews that have the product spinning on a lazy Susan and some stupid music playing in the background. I'm buying this just because of the review. Thank you again!
Thanks :) I get really excited when I receive a positive comment on this video. Apparently people can't overlook the fact that I stripped a screw in the video 😂
@@u1restauro Sorry if I am asking you randomly, I guess that you are here because you are looking for a screwdriver? If this product is more than 2 years old, do you know if there is any other newer and better product than this one?
so 56 screw bits 13 other pieces, screwdriver, charger/holder, cable, mat, suction cup, pry tool, case for screws x2 I think... what else is in the box? I guess the mini screw storage jar and the original cases for the screws count too.
I got one and am not as happy with it as you are. First impression, they have been too lazy for deburring both tube ends, they are as sharp as knifes. When inserting a bit tool there was no feelable force holding it in place. There is a magnet built into the shaft, but it seems to be sunk too far from the end of the bit to hold it. Actually I cannot remommend this tool.
How to magnetize the wowstick bits will be helpful, it's not really straightforward to put the wowstick inside the square and touch the sides to magnetize the bits.
Pretty stupid that you can't easily carry all the bits in one case I find the standard kit way better designed ... and it has WIHA bits ... or at least says so ... they do seem to hold up very nicely
My friend saw and i show him this video.he said the guy is not gentle...he should have loosen it manualy then use the drill he said. Those are small screws only.
He is probably also using the wrong size bit on those screws. The bit should fit snuggly in the head of the screw, but a manual turn also doesn't hurt either.
You know what's the main dumb thing about this kit? You can't put everything in the case! There's only room for either two bit sets, or one bit set and the driver. Also, you sometimes need to use force, because the torque is quite weak on this.
My only complaint about the original wowstick was the lack of a rechargeable battery. But nobody wants a proprietary, mandatory dock. USB is not the best connector for charging small lithium packs. However, it is adequate and these days completely ubiquitous. Your product should reinvent the screwdriver, not everything between screwdrivers and the wheel.
usb is great for recharging lithium. like you said, it's ubiquitos. if you lose the cable who cares your house is full of them but if you lose the proprietary 3.75/1.97572mm barrel jack some other devices come with that's never standard with anything then you're f*cked

Helo Sir, I Permission to use the video slot 1 minute for sale on the marketplace indonesia, and i will include the video link and your channel name for prospective customers to see the full video on your channel. Ok Sir?
If you watch closely you can see all the small metal bits chipped away from the part where your screwdriver grips into the screw. You know when screws are stuck somewhere and you cant get em out because the screwhead is kinda blank? He caused that a few times in this video.
i bought one of this, it is very low speed, i am much faster with screw driver, also low torque, also is discharging very fast, dont deserve 50 usd, it is good for my 4 year old kid to play arround
This looks like a really bad tool where it's mostly form over function. The light only coming on when the bit is turning is weird and makes no sense. The grip extends so far down the shaft that you can only use it to remove surface screws. A rough surface sounds like a poor replacement for a grippy handle, and this looks like it has all the weight at the far end, meaning it'll be harder to aim when you're reaching inside, say, a computer case. It looks entirely metal, which means it's not a great thing to be using inside electronics which may have charged capacitors. I'm generally suspicious of anything that has that many bits, too. It usually means that the quality is going to be bad unless you're paying a fortune, and if you were paying a fortune you'd get individual high quality screwdrivers with the most common bits instead.
Unbelievable how this guy strips the screws nearly every time he tightens them back in. This is NOT the fault of the screwdriver. Try to get it snug then give an extra turn with the screwdriver WITHOUT using power.

Is it just me or did he prettu much strip every screw he touched? wouldn't it be easier to just use a drill bit?
That's what usually happens when they select the wrong size Phillips tip. 😄
Rob Temple or if it is actually pozidrive!
This hurts to watch
I don't get how he manages to screw in everything at an angle. If he did it straight, he probably wouldn't strip the screws.
i decided not to buy it when I saw the chance of shredding
Shreds screw like no other... awesomeness
That was him, not the tool. I use it regularly, and haven't had that problem. I can't figure out why he likes to use it at a 45 degree angel, lol.
Not to mention the Phillips tip he used was too small.
Quality is good, learn how to use it. You destroy the screws.
this is what I wanted to say
You did a great job of stripping those screws
