  • Have you ever heard of the Persian Messiah? Is it Muhammad? Or Jesus? Or the Prince of Persia from Assassin's Creed? The Hebrew word for Messiah means "anointed" and is used in Isaiah 45:1 “This is what the LORD says to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I take hold of to subdue nations before him and to strip kings of their armor, to open doors before him so that gates will not be shut:” So who was Cyrus and why did God refer to him as the Messiah?
