Hey Roger!!! This turned out better than I could have imagined. You did an excellent job! I have learned so much and look forward to trying some of your techniques. Your style of carving, teaching and sharing is superb! I'm enjoying every minute. Please keep the videos coming. Thanks to Payton for the camera work as well. Thank you Roger!!!!
Thanks, Roger! I learned how you finish and antique your carvings. That was new to me. So was the use of mineral oil as opposed to stinky BLO. Thank you! I also like how you don’t use a ton of different colors but keep the carving simple and the thin paint looks very nice on Basswood. I’m going to start carving the rough out I bought from you in Utah later today. I plan on following along with your videos.
I have a few questions. Why don't carvers not do sitting characters, such as, Hillbilly sitting in the bath tub ( wash tub), poker player sitting at the poker table, Judge sitting in the Judge's chair during a trial, someone sitting on a stump, up against a tree in the yard, or laying (correct position) in a hammock? Seems most are standing or riding a horse.....
Beautiful Mr. Roger ..What artistry and talent you have
Thanks for sharing
