    What a fantastic top Sarah and two different looks with the Onyx and the Pomona pants...both gorgeous. Like the discussion about the pattern as well.

    Fabulous to see 2 other crew members discussing this pattern. This is the first one that I didn’t immediately like, and not sure I will make it. Yours looks great, and I like it with the trousers❤

      Ah thank you!! Honestly I would encourage you to try it, but beware the fit around the back hem. Also it is pretty short! I’m definitely going to make another one though as I think it would be great colour blocked did you make the alabaster tee? I also love that one!

    Your top came out really cute. Good save. With the Pomona pants it does look like really nice lounge wear. But with the jeans it looks like a great top. Thanks for sharing.

    Hi Sam. I enjoyed your collab and the two takes on the Marble top. The sides would make it not practical for me too. When Sarah modeled hers with the matching Pamona pants, I thought there was an underlayer at the high side which looked so much better than an obvious gap. You could add an underlayer on the non-bias side of the front with the bottom cut to angle from center seam down diagonally to meet with the lower back piece. More coverage and more diagonal lines. If you still want a notch but don't want it right at the center of the back, you could eliminate it there and use smaller notches at the top of the dropped shoulders. It is an interesting pattern and I'm glad the two of you did it, Antonia

    Hi! Thanks for showing us your top... I've just traced the pattern out, and have a creamy light linen to cut it out soon. I've been collecting my bigger scraps of linens over several years, and got it out yesterday to see if I could make a multi-fabric one - so I'm going to give that a go 🤞🤞 You've done very well with yours! 😍

    • @sewsarahstyle
      @sewsarahstyle  3 месяца назад +1

      Ooh I can’t wait to see a linen scrap busting version, I think that will look fantastic! Just check the sizing and the width of the back facing. Happy sewing!

    Great collab - I've enjoyed seeing the two of you work together. It's a very unusual top and I think it looks good on both of you but I think the fitting issues are a bit of a problem. Well done for sticking with it and managing to figure it out.

    I like the pale, colour blocked, version on the pattern cover. I also like the shape of the font, but not so much the back, which is a bit too boxy, and the short side would be too short for me. I don't like patterns to be so vastly over sized, either. I do like your finished version, it suits you.

    • @sewsarahstyle

      Thank you!! Yes there are definitely quite a few issues with the pattern, but once ironed out it makes a pretty cool top!! 🥰

    Hi Sarah. I made a mistake and posted (see below) to your website instead of Sam's first. Sorry about that. I like your collab and how you put your strategies together. The comment on the pants/top combo below does apply to your outfit (and an idea for future tops). I'm glad you like the notch at the back. I'm a pear shape, so any detail in the back area just seems to make me feel self-conscious. It would be interesting to make the top with your alterations using a different fabric scrap for each pattern piece, Antonia

      Ah thank you so much!! Yes I now have the altered pattern pieces so am keen to try it again with colour blocking. 🥰

    I think a more slinky knit fabric would work better as you wouldnt get such a sticky out hemline. I have a similar pattern with sleeves which is a designer collab with a big 4 pattern

    • @sewsarahstyle
      @sewsarahstyle  3 месяца назад

      Thank you!! I actually hadn’t considered it in a knit fabric, but think it could work really well. I do love the shape of it, just not the back!!

      Thank you so much. No I haven’t made them in linen yet, but am about to cut out a pair of the shorts in a white linen. I think they look fabulous in linen having seen many on Instagram. Are you planning on making a pair?

      I was wanting to make a pair of linen trousers, there are so many patterns to choose from but the Pomona pants seem very popular and don’t look too difficult to make, I’m fairly new to sewing so I need a pattern which isn’t too challenging. The pairs on Instagram in linen do look gorgeous, I think this could be the pattern for me. Thanks for replying Sarah. ❤

    Great colab. Your top looks lovely with the Pomona pants. Have you made the Safiya or Esti trousers, if so are the legs narrower on the Pomona

    • @sewsarahstyle
      @sewsarahstyle  3 месяца назад +1

      Thank you so much!! Yes I have made the Safiya but cropped and seem to remember they are slightly narrower, but I made them ages ago. Are you after wide or narrower trousers? x

      @@sewsarahstyle narrower. I e just made my first pair of Derwent trousers after seeing yours and love them. Keep making wide leg trousers as they look nice on other people but just don’t think they are for me
