I had an Explorer, then I sold it when I got an Air King. My wrist at a bit over 7 suits the AK size much better, I like the pop of colour too, no regrets.
I have a collection of rolexs and have both of these. In my opinion , the explorer is far superior. It more versatile, classic and has history. I wear it quite often as the air king I havent worn for over a year now. I still like the air king as a collector, but if I was to choose one it's the explorer.

Borsphus leather is amazing product. I brought a 3 watch roll and was so impressed with the brand that I brought a bespoke 8 watch petra case. Was so impressed again, I brought another bespoke petra case. Because it was bespoke it takes 1 month but it was worth it. Thinking of another few more. Check them out if you already havent. I also have a few scatola de tempo Italian leather hand made boxes. They are great too..
I have the Bosphorus Galata CP Patina Brown 3 watch roll - I cannot say enough about this product. Top quality, great modular system. Taking all the watches out gives one a nice work space as well for strap changes or whatever, which I like. The travel bag offers even more protection when packing for a weekend.
Airking and explorer both have the old movement, also for me , I like the cyclops eye . The date just is beautiful 🤩 The airking is interesting 🧐 though I like the bigger crown 👑
My preference is for the Explorer! I hesitated to buy it but I was lucky to find a Sub 41mm. You've got nice pieces and I really like your date Just with the blue dial.
Hi ..I had this very dilemma this time last year when traveling in japan, after days of thinking I went with the explorer and I love the watch ..it would be great to add the airking like you have ..I'm waiting for covid to pass as there are nothing but unhelpful A.Ds where I live and not much second hand .japan is an amazing place to buy rolex if you find the right store
Nice Roll, but the Price is to high. I prefer the Watchrolls from Janexx. Top Quality for a lower price. I have the Olivegreen Color Watchroll from Janexx. It would be interesting to see a one to one comparison 😉

I got the black marble, silver stand duo... Whole heartedly agree! Explorer is stylish and elegant with a subtle beauty. And in the dark, absolutely stunning 😍
I think the Explorer is the safe choice, just like an OP or datejust. With the slim case and black/simple dial, you can never do wrong. But in my opinion they're also a bit boring. If you're indeed into racing or something else that connects you with the watch, go for the Air-King. Me for example, I'm going for the Milgauss because I'm a high voltage engineer.
Moin Niko! I would like to see more watch companies selling their watches with a travel watch roll/case instead of a huge and heavy box! Or at least let the customer decide whether he wants a box or a travel case. Best regards, Claus

the watch-porter seems to be made from beautiful soft leather but it requires a complete disassembly to access any of the three watches. Perhaps poppers on the three cushions is a step too far
If you have that many watches, order the petra 8 watch case. Have it bespoke with your initials. When I show my watches to my friends, you more interested in the case than the watches ahahaha. You will not be disappointed. And the guys at borsphus are so nice to deal with if you have any queries. They did have stands at the baselworld previously and if you watch videos with dealers, they are all using their collectors cases.
Really depends if you buy ones that are in stock or if you run out. Ones that are in stock is usually a week but if not in stock or you want a bespoke one with your initials etc. Then it is around a month. They are hand made in turkey, but remember the price quoted you have to pay duty and taxes depending on your country. Also remember that from time to time they have discount voucher code to up to 25% if I can remember during holidays and black friday etc

disagree...you have a black sub no need for explorer i. At least the AK 40 gives you an unique design and more fun too!

Now that the 39mm explorer is discontinued it may encourage people to look at the Airking as an alternative.

I got the small cushions, I could imagine with 17cm you will need them as well.
Tried on both and the explorer dial was just too plain and boring. Went with the Air King.

I don't think 1mm makes too much difference but, for sure, the Explorer sits better on the wrist
