    "Freshona take a bow" is a commentary highlight :) food tastes so good when you're touring! Lidl (?) should get you in their adverts. Loved all the videos, can't wait for you guys to get touring again and also, selfishly me!

    Love your videos, my boyfriend and I are planning our first Europe bikepacking tour this August and we're wondering if it's best to book campsites when we arrive there or before we go? What would you suggest?

    • @MatHall
      @MatHall  2 года назад

      Hi Nadine thanks for your comment! We winged it most of the time but in august a lot of campsites were quite busy or even full in popular spots that had a lake or pool etc, family friendly in the holidays. Try to pre book these types if you can! But we always found another one or someone to help us out and let us camp in a different area of the site. In my Rhine full movie i talk about it a bit more i think! Have am amazjng time!!! Whats the plan??

    Hallo Mat, I enjoyed your videos very much. Does Harriet ever get annoyed about anything? She seems to be the equanimity in person. You mentioned at about 8:33 that the kickstand problem was about to be solved in Strasbourg. Since I am now the proud owner of a Fuji Touring I would be interested in knowing what you bought.

      Hi Richard! Great you bought the Fuji! It's still going as strong as ever, year 4 of ownership. The kickstand was from Decathlon in the end, bought in Strasbourg! But it snapped off somewhere in Serbia.. I'd buy the best quality one you can find I think..! Thank you for watching:))) And yes Harriet does get annoyed, mostly when I faff in the mornings (shes super organised at packing panniers. I was very slow!) And when I want to stop for a beer or chocolate.. which was too often hah! Are you heading on a tour soon?

      @@MatHall Hello Matt, I'm almost relieved that Harriet does get annoyed sometimes. After cycling uphill and against the wind my wife threw her bike onto the ground, turned to me and said "and you call THIS a HOLIDAY?", but she recovered. I retired just over a year ago (yes he's that old) so I've got a bit more freedom now. The main trip will be from Den Haag down to Brügge and then from London to Bristol. I will then spend a few days with a friend in Swansea and then return to north Germany where I live. I found a very interesting take on doing cycle tours at my age ruclips.net/video/q5J-ft3RXRU/видео.html. He's about my age and I agree with his sentiments somewhere in the middle - if you sit on the couch and put your feet up , its downhill all the way.

      @@richardsharp3261 ha superb! I can imagine that moment. I'm sure it's quite common... ! I am pushing for us to start offering cycle tours (week long or so) combined with cruising. I work for Audley Travel and from everyone I've spoken to and met, around the 50+ age group,cycle touring is becoming increasingly popular! Best of luck with your future tours. We cant wait for our mini-moon london to Bath this April!
